I’ve been using a trash compacter for last 40 years they worth every penny I take one bag out a week n common sense any food waste goes in garbage disposal would never be without a garbage disposal or trash compacter so don’t listen to the jackasses that say people don’t buy them much any more because they do! N yes they have gone up in price but way worth it! Just the convenience alone of dealing with a weeks worth of garbage in one neat compact bag to put out on trash night no need for garbage pails just my two cent about I feel about it
I made one out of a 5 ton trailer jack! I welded it to a beam, then a flat 3/4" plate, and anchored it to my fondation. I only used 1 debris bag so far in 6 months! Works pisser and only cost me 200$ in materials

I miss the one I had at my old house. Walking out to the garage 3x as often to take bags of mostly air feels stupid. But damn, why so EXPENSIVE?
