Thank you! Mine wasn't putting out much water and I couldn't figure out how to get in there and deep clean it. It's a heavily planted tank and I noticed dead leaves up where the water intakes. Pulled it apart, cleaned those suckers out, and it's running great. I appreciate the help!
I have large hands and still have problem. I think I got the large Tidal. It isn’t intuitive how to remove it. I keep thinking I’m going to break it as I try all different ways to pry it loose. Super lame design flaw. Otherwise good filter.
Hi Cathy, Did you fix the squealing problem? Usually it's from the impeller guide at the back of the motor. I show how to remove it in the video. If there's dirt clean it, if there's to much slop contact seachem they should send you a new guide.
@@BenAfricanCichlids hey Ben,thanks. No,it’s getting hung up on the plastic somehow(the back metal shaft of the impeller is gouging the plastic where it seats. I’ve cleaned the whole thing and greased the shaft with no luck. It’s an older filter so maybe the motor needs to be replaced. I’ll call seachem this week and see what they can do to help. Great video, btw. The most in depth one I’ve seen to date.👍🏻
I'm glad this help! Don't forget to enter the giveaway for the temperature controler in the INKBIRD ITC-306A video. The draw is this friday. Good luck!
Hey bro! I’m from Brazil and i have two of these tidal 110, the newest one make some noise when connected the motor to the body, and no noise when i turn it on without being conected to the body. I’ve disassembled completely and it still doing the loud noisy, but just when connected to the body.
Hello my Brazilian friend! This sounds like the impeller shaft might be loose or dirty. When you had it completely disassemble, did you see any signs of wear on the impeller or the guide plate?
Well, the impeller looks great, and te pump works good when out of the filter body. The noise is just when connected to the filter.@@BenAfricanCichlids
Hi, it can be hard with new filters. The filter housing is hold in place by a small pin on each side. It usually come apart by wiggling the housing front to back while keeping a down pressure. If it doesn't work you could gently use a small flat screwdriver to release the pins.
@@BenAfricanCichlids i budged it out now. its a seachem tidal 75 (got scammed the owner said it was a 110, still a steal tho) i did what you said. thanks for the vid its a lifesaver!!

Thank you , I was needing to see how to clean the motor.
Glad it helped
Thanks! I didn't know my motor came apart. Got it working again. :)
Great Video! Thank you very much for your guide, it helped a lot when i took apart mine for the first time.
I have the 55 Tidal. Getting the outer motor cover on and off is so hard for small, weak hands. That cord is a pain, too. Otherwise, great filter!
I really like the tidal filters.
Aqueon just got out with a filter that just like the tidal, have the pump inside the aquarium.

Perfecto, hasta ahora no había encontrado ningún vídeo que mostrase como se desmonta el motor. Gracias

@@nighty4185 too bad it wasn't the right size filter but the 75 is great too.
@@BenAfricanCichlids well still i got it for 12$ quite a deal. would love the extra media space tho but i aint complainin too much
I have done everything that you did in this video and my filter is still making a rattling noise. So frustrating.
@@brianjeffries207 sorry to hear this. Your impeller housing must be worn around the shaft. They sell replacement motor for those filters.
@@BenAfricanCichlids I thought about this but when I run the motor in a bucket of water by itself, it seems to be running normal. Very quiet.
