Man I knew Corny was gonna lay into the dinosaur for this debacle but even I wasn't expecting a burn like "he makes Johnny Ace look like Ricky Steamboat"
That should convince the douche to go back to wrestling school for 2 years before EVER attempting ever in front of people again.
When I saw the chokeslam live I was thinking why? Why would u jump with him on a chokeslam spot on a table....bad dinosaur bad!!!!..... I don't know if they have an idea but they need to put this into motion we. Need to get the tags titles to FTR or have the Briscoes just randomly show up and shock the world....then u would start FTR Briscoe fued....and on the other side we need a heel dinosaur to turn on jungle boy and wreck his shit maybe with Christian cage's help to make the dinosaur a no bullshit monster!!!!Make jungle boy the underdog he should be and make him.come off as more authentic in the ring and everything's just not a spot fest. The "dance routine" part was embarresing. They didn't even try to hide the fact that it was chreographed.
Whenever someone wasn’t setting their bit up, they just stood there watching the next bit, waiting for their turn. It was like watching a school play, where each kid stands still until it’s time to say their line.
Yeah, that "standing there and holding hands" part was ridiculous.
That's not wrestling, that's circus acrobatics, why are these lines blurring so much these days??
but the nerds on twitter said that AEW is pro wrestling...
Would jurassic Express please stop with the wacky hand holding flippy moves,it looks like crap!!!!!!
Can someone tell me the big deal about Jungle Boy? All I see is a small guy, who does the same thing in the ring as damn near everyone else and can't talk or emote to save his life.
I don’t get his appeal either. I don’t see how he can beat you if you stay out of his finisher, the “Snare Trap”.
He's one of the 4 pillows
Jungle boy is garbage. The fans need to wake up and boo him so his push stops
yeah he’s not special. I think he’s hyped because he’s just an AEW homegrown star?? otherwise idk n besides his dad being luke perry
He’s Luke Perry’s son, if Luke Perry had a bag of poop and they put it on live tv it would go over too
"Even if they were covered in fairydust they wouldn't look like stars!" -Jim
"Jerichos in his seat cause standing up would require effort"- Brian 🤣
I had to pause the video when Brian said that 😂 shit made my day!
I died when Jim said “I hope it broke them all f’n idiot”
I love hearing Jim ask Brian if he saw something, knowing he did..
Brian “I did” 😂
It's amazing how often something happens and instantly you think "can't wait for the Corny clip..."

@@Steve-eq8iz Travis's drawing for that is gonna be great
I think Omega must've been sexually frustrated but that's exactly why he mentioned Jim. I'm sure the vast majority of hate he gets online is from Jim burying him all these years and AEW Botches. Travis has outdone himself again
Meh I wanted to see feniz arm animated
So easily impressed. I don't get the overwhelming praise for High School art project level stuff.
I cried laughing when he said "Jungle Boy and Botchasaurus" 🤣🤣🤣
That injury looked absolutely gruesome live, I cringed wicked hard SMH thought Fenix's arm snapped like a twig, supposedly it's only a dislocated elbow. Tired of these table spots, they needa be spaced out far more....
Being a physical therapist, he’d been better off breaking a bone. Bone takes 6-8 weeks to heal, tendons/ligaments take at least 12 weeks.
@@AussBosss appreciate the insight, I made the comment admittedly before getting through the whole clip. I noticed Corny also mentioned a clean break woulda worked to Rey's advantage. Wishing him a full recovery whatever the case may be...
@@WortownRep87 It’s all good and I agree. Wishing Fenix well and hopefully he won’t have any issues once healed up. Like Brian, I shouted out whenever I saw the injury and couldn’t watch it again.

I'm sure some things could be perfected indeed :) but it fits my usage prefectly as it is.
They've got Christian at ringside playing cheerleader for the team. He should really be tagging with Jungle Boy.
Good point, but they gotta showcase the younger dragon mask wearing gymnastic giant instead. Sure Jungle Boy teaming with Christian having him get over and then Christian turns on him like he did to Edge back in 01 out of jealously to strap the rocket to the kid is a good six month program that could create some enticing television viewing as well as some genuine sympathy and empathy for a younger star of the future, but everything gets done in six minutes with Cokehead Khan, and his mind the Jungle Giant is the Jungle Boys best buddy and they live in the trees or some shit apparently and every now and then they're visited in the Jungle by the Christian missionaries, whom monitor the progresses on the stunted growth of Marko Scunt and his siblings

On twitter I said “Wow why did he need to go into the table as well when it’s a chokeslam?” referring to Dino. And some mark replied “In wrestling, people go through tables. Would you rather they land on the cement 🙄 “

Staying on the apron is just not an option I guess.
@@cryforthemoon or staying in the ring🤔🤔
That's called a False Dichotomy
Or at least go through the middle of the table, not awkwardly through it length-wise.
The holding hands rope flip spot was so insulting and then watching Luchasaurus struggle to remember his routine and get in spots to let things happen to him were so absurd and stupid I just turned it off. What an embarrassing way to end a show.
I hope Fenix recovers soon. At the same time I can't generate much sympathy because what purpose did that spot even serve? In this day and age those sort of spots only have real consequence when someone gets really injured and that's absurd. If he hadn't been injured, I'm sure after selling for 10 seconds he'd have been up and about again like nothing happened.
It's reckless and adds nothing to a match.
Purpose: to be entertaining.
@@thegillmanedits it's same BS and getting tired not entertaining
This match was horrible, these matches doesn’t make since we can’t see the Briscoes vs FTR but we can see all these bad tag teams
@@thegillmanedits they failed.
Was it just me or was Fenix trying to break his fall prior to when his arm bent the wrong way? To my knowledge you are supposed to keep your arms forward and in to avoid injury. It looked like his left arm was out and down during the fall.
I think SCU with Kazerian and Scorpio Sky was the other good tag team but they got buried and separated just to be buried again.
And they go and put sky in an other tag team
They were good and despite being bland on the mic(well not Kaz) they were exciding. No reason for Sky to be a heel besides nothing to do with him. He's one of the worst heels in wrestling but would be a really good face.
They don't get used much so are very forgettable but I like Santana and Ortiz, they are the hidden gem in this division that have done nothing of importance. Inner Circle has held back everyone other than Jericho.

AEW makes Vince Mcmahons opinion on tag teams seem correct.
At least Vince recognises that, as little as he thinks of tag teams, if he's stuck for a good Tag Team match, he can always just put on the Usos vs New Day again. Those two teams have old school tag team chemistry combined with a modern moveset, are literally incapable of having a bad match together and generally come up with at least one or two new wrinkles per match.
I'd rather watch RKBRO who's whole Gimmick is that Randy hates Riddle but they win despite that than the AEW Tag Team Division, because at least Randy and Riddle will have a great WrestleMania Match this year when they break up.
“The John Lauranitis school of smoothness”😂😂🤣🤣🤣
Jurassic Express's win was overshadowed by Fenix's injury. It was just too damn ugly to replay that moment.
If they would learn from FTR they would know what to do
For TV, yes probably.
For AEW Twitter, no they were all retweeting the video from both the TV broadcast & a couple ringside fan phone camera videos, it was all over the internet thanks to AEW marks.

I enjoy the tone and pace of this podcast, so I listen. I don't watch the current product, and generally take Jim for what he is. But I tuned in to this show, and thought it would be interesting see what he sees (if I do). By God, this match....the initial sequence where JR had to wonder if 2 people were going to emerge to "lead this thing. Jungle Boy looking around like "do we go on 3, or do we go after 3?" The table spot. The lights, which set up some other thing surely. No tags. "A hat on a hat"

Gave me flashbacks of Mir vs Nogueria seeing that arm bend back like that.
I know exactly what you're talking about BUT, let's be honest. This was so much worse than their fight. His arm absolutely bent the wrong way COMPLETELY. I've never seen something like that before and I was sure his arm was fucked.
With all the Gymnastics in AEW, I’m actually Stunned that we don’t get Injuries like this more frequently but wishing him a Speedy Recovery Nonetheless ……. 🙏🏿
Hope it takes awhile actually.. Penta is better solo
@Ryan Not even close. Granted he's not the LU version of himself but I'd rather watch Penta than Jurassic Express and most of the other slops they have right now.

@@Ryan-bi5mz if Penta is sloppier, why is it that Rey is always getting hurt? 🤦♂️

I was sick to my stomach for 3 hours after that.
Same here, no one deserves to have that happen. AEW talent needs to learn work safer. I am debating whether to continue watching the show. I'd hate to see something like this happen to FTR, Britt Baker, or Darby Allin. A potential career ender for some silly spot. I can just hope this is the wake up call AEW needs to work safer.

Why have people been landing on tables the long way instead of the middle like usual?
To make sure they break is my guess. If you remember Britt vs Abadon table didn't break two different times. Also in that women's street fight the table didn't break and Tay took Penelope's knee to the face/neck area. I bet that's why.

Even Tim Horner felt sorry for him for a sec lol
I remember when Eddie Guerrero dislocated his elbow on Smackdown, he had just landed a frog splash and Guerrero's elbow just popped out, but whoa... Fenix, I'm surprised it didn't break. I don't think Luchasaurus should have the tag team spot with Jungle Boy, I think Christian would've been a better fit, Christian would have the Ricky Steamboat 91-92 veteran spot - when the Steamer teamed with Dustin Rhodes and Shane Douglas - the veteran and the rookie.
I immediately thought of Eddy's injury, too! That was the most horible one I had seen to that point...
He told Road Dogg to pin him immediately after it happened.

Santana and Ortiz are one of the best tagteams in wrestling but they're never in big matches for whatever reason.
As a longtime wrestling fan looking for a real alternative to WWE I was willing to overlook the booking and the botches when AEW first started and was mostly green indie talents.
Now that they have some real legit names with talent and experience it really amplifies the mistakes in booking and how bad many of these matches are.
I find myself watching whatever CM Punk, Danielson, Kingston, Dustin Rhodes are involved with and tuning out to everything else.
Basically, it's much easier to see how bad most of AEW really is, in spite of how talented alot of the roster is.

Cornette as a cheerleader. Bravo!
I feel like the lights out thing WAS going to lead to something until Fenix got injured. They had an awkwardly long victory celebration by JE when they usually end the show with much less time if there's no run ins.
My guess would be that the heel tag teams were supposed to rush the ring and attack both competing teams after the match when then Jericho and P&P likely along with a few face teams would join the melee until the lights went out again and Black would show up with his newest recruit (or whatever you want to call them) and wreck some shit. Or some series of events similar to this.
It explains all the awkward things at the end of the match like the overly long celebration, why the heel teams were randomly standing on the ramp, why Jericho and P&P were randomly shown, why Malakai Black was randomly shown, why the lights going out didn't lead to anything. It kinda adds up something was supposed to happen after the match culminating in the debut of Black's new partner.
It was supposed to have been Black coming in because they were setting up Penta/Black but they botched it.
Jim's right. AEW has no good tag teams right now except FTR, and they've been treating them like jobbers lately. I had hopes for redragon, but their stuck with Best Friends. Jungle Boy needs to go solo, and have them do a mentor relationship with him and Christian like they did with Sting and Darby.
Jungle Boy can't go solo because he feels bad for Luchasaurus
I think 2.0 have promise but they seriously need to get them away from fucking Jericho.
Aew has the best tag team division in the buisness and it isn't even close.
Y’all need to realize why aew is hiding ftr its because they aren’t a draw in aew. The fans don’t like their wrestling style they like the high flying spot fest it shouldn’t be surprising.
@@umso4l aew doesn't draw at all in aew not did they in WWE. Jim loves them but who gives a shit who he loves. Jim hates Jericho who still draws. Ftr is old school wrestling most who watch modern wrestling don't want to see that shit

Travis - Another classic. I might of done a standing pyramid with Corny being one of the held up ones. Keep same face🤣
Corny had me fucking dying laughing when he said,, "and we have new champions. Jungle Boy and Botchasaurus!"
this match was such a disaster and somewhat symbolized what i felt about this show. i will say that i liked Jurassic Express vs Lucha Bros better than FTR vs Lucha Bros because JE's style seems to mesh better with the Lucha Bros (i.e. more cooperative BS) but they seem to work better together overall. That's probably the nicest thing I can say about this match. It went all downhill. The four man hand holding rope tumble was everything bad about modern wrestling. Anytime someone grabs an arm of an opponent and then does some form of rope walk, the first thing I think of is, "Why not just yank the fucker off?" The only person that kinda could pull this off was the Undertaker just because he had the size and intimidation factor. Not to mention I can't remember anyone else trying to pull something like that out around that time.
The lights out part was embarrassing and probably made people think someone was going to run in, especially Malakai Black because he just had a previous segment. This is why you can't do the lights out gimmick every time because now you've trained people on expectation and when something actually goes wrong it makes you look unprofessional, especially on a show where a ton of the people looked shamefully green.
Most of the match was not noteworthy outside of the table spot. This spot made no sense to me when I started seeing Alex pull out the table. Why was this even necessary? It's just excessive. The irony is that it did build into the match serendipitously because of how it literally took both men out, most notably Fenix of course, which is what you'd think a table spot out to do, although I suspect that Fenix probably would've jumped back in at a certain point so that they could do some convoluted finish.
For the actual botch, I like how Corny breaks down why it failed. The fact that Corny can break down why a move like that was a terrible idea to me shows how these wrestlers aren't thinking in detail about the execution of the spot. I've always viewed both guys being super sloppy and doing things beyond what they should be doing. And this is the result.
The thing Tony Khan/AEW needs to start looking into is how these shows seem to average 1 injury per show. With some of those WWE releases like Regal, Joe, etc. and Corny talking about possible trainers, AEW either needs to get someone who understands psychology to talk with these guys, slow them down considerably, work on execution over convolution and learn how to put together a match. I've read how the veteran wrestlers like Jake Roberts, etc. actually try to convey that message. How many of these people are listening though? All I can think of when see things like this is, "Oh, that's why Tony Khan needs 100+ wrestlers for the roster; he's eventually going to run out once they end up putting each other on the shelf."
JE getting the belts seems logical but my interpretation of it is that Tony Khan wants bragging rights to saying "he builds stars". Because now if you look at it, his four pillars have held titles at one point (I include the ring that MJF has as part of that). It's pretty gratuitous, contrived and something the incoming ex-WWE wrestlers should consider if they want to build a career there or outside because those people are getting jobbed. And I would say that these title reigns don't feel like much. They feel backwards where they get the title but don't really get the right build nor momentum going. Like JE just came out of nowhere to beat the Lucha Bros. Shouldn't they have been going through the ranks from bottom to top to demonstrate why they are the best? Instead, this title change reeks of desperation where they want to "send the fans home happy" by seeing titles change hands.
Oddly, I do buy the title change but for all the wrong reasons, namely that Lucha Bros are going to be shelved (and hopefully re-thinking their careers/strategy especially Fenix since this isn't the first time he's been out with an injury for a bit). But that's not how it go. Same with Cody getting Covid.
But the real frustration for me at least is seeing Luchasaurus hold a title. This is like giving the janitor the employee of the decade award. If Jungle Boy could've tagged with Christian to get the titles, I would've bought that. If Jungle Boy separated from Luchasaurus and went with his real name then tagged with Brian Pillman Jr, I would've bought that. But Luchasaurus is the fifth wheel that's dragging the rest of the vehicle behind the caravan because it's been flat for several miles now. People might argue, "Well, they chant his name in the arena!" And my rebuttal is that memes eventually wear out and become passe. This guy isn't even Rick Astley when it comes to that either in being a one hit wonder. He's been utterly lucky compared to Marko Stunt in being associated in these matches.
Luchasaurus isn't even that over. The AEW crowd marks out for everything but he gets a very mild pop, the real audience-pleasers are:
1) Baltimora playing as the theme music
2) Jungle Boy as a plucky fan favorite underdog type
Luchasaurus could be teleported to Mars tomorrow & the majority of AEW fans would just shrug.
Tl:dr;

These days tables have been so over-done that they are on the same level as a DDT, what was once a devastating move to finish a match turned to ...oh right, a DDT again. Meh. All the impact has been taken out of them. [The super-kick is rapidly heading that way too.] And that's what tables have become. What was even the point of the spot? Really?
And I actually won a bet with a friend that Fenix would get a serious injury from doing something absolutely stupid, pointless and completely needless in an AEW ring BEFORE Darby Allin.
Super Kick is already dead and gone imo. Its almost always a move thats used to stun, then set up for something else. Very rarely do I see a KO, devastating superkick.

That table botch was f*cked up! Luckily for Rey Fenix he only dislocated his arm, it wasn't a break. Luchasaurus is dangerous, so so dangerous, every time he is in the ring he botches.... We need FTR vs Briscoe Brothers feud right now! This is awful. Terrible booking.
IF you watch it, it wasn't Junglesaurus who botched it, it was Fenix. He let go of the chokeslam too early as it looked like a counter because you can even see Luchasaurus hold his arm in pain.
"Botchasaurus" 🤣🤣🤣
I love how they replayed a hundred times their Kalisto breaking his arm and with the tv on mute I never realised it. I was just thankful that the giant mexican with the dinosaur gimmick wasn't inside the ring like when Kane chokeslammed Sabu out of the Royal Rumble through a table, because the poor little man would probably be even more fucked.
... man. You have to be a massive WWE mark to call Fenix "their Kalisto".
@@chuckycheesechucky No, I just don't watch AEW that often 🤷🏻♂️
@@speranza9415 That's literally what I just said.
@@chuckycheesechucky Not watching AEW too often doesn't make me a WWE mark.

This match was just bad , basically had no rules. Didn't enjoy this compared to everything else
Was there a tag?
@@themedianman9712 lmao at one point penta didn't even bother tagging in 🤣 he just said fuk it and ran wild 😂
@@Melo_Soul awesome how JR referred to the ref as a tag team specialist. I wonder if the plan was for the manager to highlight the fact that it was a lawless match...which would be pointless now with the injury
@@themedianman9712 I agree , this should serve as a good lesson for them , don't do stupid spots and playing by the rules can get u far , if done right it's not gonna be boring ! They just need to be more careful instead of being so unreal all the time. We like authentic bad assery ! 😂💯
Fenix is going to be out for at least 6 months... all for a nothing spot during a throw away match.
