Exploring the Underground Mining Tunnels in Norway | The Silver Mines, Sølvgruvene in Kongsberg

We visited the Silver Mines in Kongsberg, Norway together with friends from United States. The Silver Mines, called Sølvgruvene in Norwegian, is the largest mining field in that era, with over 200 mines.
We rode the mine train for 15 minutes to get to the mining site, traveling 2300 meters inside the mountain and 342 meters below the surface. The tour in the mining tunnels did not end there. After we got out of the tunnels in the mountain, we continued the tour on the surface for some real experience in mining. It’s a great experience for the kids.
