Nice way to show why split primary colors are such a great thing to know about for color mixing! It's easy to get hung up on picking one system, RYB like we were taught in school, or CMY which gives such lovely vibrant colors. Understanding both, along with what happens when you mix compliments into neutrals, really helps you avoid mud when you don't want it too. Thanks for sharing :)

Let’s take red for example. If the red leans a little more toward yellow, it’s warm. If it leans a little more toward blue, it’s cool. Same applies for the other Primary colors, if a Yellow leans more toward Red - it’s warm, more toward blue - it’s cool. I hope that makes sense! I tried to explain in the video, if you’re mixing two colors together and getting a muddy result (like I did with the warm red and the cool blue to get that muddy purple), try switching one or the other to get a more vibrant color.
Kathryn Curry I don’t currently have a cheat sheet, but I could dive deeper in a Facebook Live. Are you part of my free group? Https://facebook.com/groups/snowberrydesignco
Kathryn Curry no worries! It’s good to know if you have additional questions so I can be helpful in the future! We’ll do a Facebook live about this soon! 💛

How do you know if a color is warm or cool? Is there a cheat sheet for this anywhere?
