    What a great result for a very simple, but well thought out original idea. Dennis, you made that guitar into what every Squier guitar dreams to be. Original and valued

    From all the comments, I think you should do a lil overview of the materials used, and simple methods you used. This paint job is awesome!!! I'm looking to do a blue with a slight glitter on it, nice trick using the toothbrush to spread the glitter :)

      +Carpe Diem Studio You should've printed some custom decals with the Fender logo and then your name under it. Then you just stick it on and clear coat over it. Woodeso has some good videos on how to do that.

      I agree.... there are special ultra thin decals you can use to do a signature that look remarkably good and professional. I like his toothbrush splatter technique and it could be done in gold or chrome paint rather than white, for example.

      Jacob Evans But it is a big deal for his reputation. Glenn Fricker and other professional rock/metal audio engineers would not want him in their studios because he is going to be too lazy to tune every take. If you are lazy, then don't record music.     Is anyone going to say anything about the tuning of the guitars in the song? It's beautifully written but jesus christ fix your intonation ; _ ;

    • @thetruthchannel349
      @thetruthchannel349 6 років тому

      Sometimes people who are into tapping but arent into building hand strength go for really light weight strings and theyre super easy to bend when youre tapping unless youre being really careful and super focused on intonation. Theyre also easier to pull out of tune. That being said I use lighter strings.

      @k.g.847 4 роки тому

      Can you elaborate what you mean?

    • @dedballoons
      @dedballoons 4 роки тому

      @@k.g.847 Hi! So, the guitar being played in the audio is out of tune. The strings themselves are probably in tune to a tuner, but as you fret notes, the notes are out of tune. Someone above said it could be that the strings are super light guage and the fretting itself is sending the notes out. I'd be inclined to think it's the harmonics though.
      Hope that helps!

      Aiden Wagoner ..acrylic paint is most common and very durable. But anything will work as long as u let it dry very well. U can brush/spray graphics with water based acrylic , then spray 3 or more coats of clear on top after it dries. Try not to remove the sealer coat below the paint. Practice on scrap 1st. Good luck.

  • @kjemradio

    One thing to note. Make sure that you let the clear coat cure (polyurethane or Polycrilic) at least one week (or even a month) so the VOCs fully gas out prior to final sanding and buffing.

    Too bad the pickguard hides most of it.
    Many years ago, I saw a video of a street artist doing spacescape paintings. He laid down a ton of red and then yellow right on top of it. He took crumpled up newspaper and touched it to the paint and twisted. Then again and again. Each time with fresh newspaper. Then he put a bucket lid over it to protect from overspray when he did black paint around the lid. Then he removed the lid and the twisted yellow and red paint was a perfect circle surrounded by black. It looked like the sun. He did a couple of small planets using different colors and smaller lids. And added some silver sparkle flakes for "stars". It looked awesome and I wanted to try that on a guitar body, but never did.

    Nicely done! The tones might actually inspire me to do a more tropical themed one, with the turquoise tones.

    Doesn’t the glitter on the back of the neck create friction problems in spite of the clear coat?

    I painted my own guitar many different ways the final gloss and type makes a big difference what did you use? I fear that painting the neck part of the guitar was a mistake and that would be dreadful to touch and play due to the usage of gloss that would cause more resistance when playing.

    Very nice artwork man! What type of paint and varnish did you used? I have a personal project with acrylic paint but it seems very complex to find reliable information from luthiers. It seems that they all used to use PU paints, car paints and that's all…
