You know a talk show was quality when years later (2023) the laughs are just as plentiful and smiles genuine. Thanks JayLeno Fly and Craig and the entire team behind this show loved this show when it was live and appreciate it even more now.
Miss him so much! When He and Letterman left, it truly and sadly was the end of an era. All the late night hosts are like Sesame Street, or daytime game show hosts, now; all of them gentle as kittens. When Craig was a damn lion. All of them now are Boring, w/ no edge, all smiley and pandering and fake laughing like mindless idiots, no cussing, no sarcasm, no bawdiness, nothing remotely near a saucy double entendre or stream of consciousness conversation, with hardly any comedy at all actually. I don’t even watch late night anymore. Watch Ferguson’s old shows 🤣😂
It took seeing it with a couple actors who weren't stand-ups to be sure. For the guests who actually get it, Craig is not running an interview show so much as an advanced improvisation "workshopping" game. The ones who do it and like it best keep coming back. Occasionally, you'll even hear one or the other say quietly, "I don't know where that's going..." or "I don't think I can follow from there..." and they do a quick reset with another talk point. They get so caught up in it, sometimes they have to be reminded to actually put the plugs in for the projects they're doing. Sometimes they don't even have a thing to plug; they just like playing the workshopping game with him. With the standup comedians, it's pretty obvious that they are dueling material. With most of the actors / theatre majors they try to make it sound more like a dialogue that has the appearance of interview, but it flips around and cuts like workshopping anyway. Some actors love that game, which they haven't gotten to do a lot of since theatre school. It keeps a performer sharp to do a few rounds of it once in a while. Neil here plays pretty smooth, patient, keeping up his professional demeanor most of the time, then zips in for gritty shot once in a while. Alfred Molina was a brutal stalker with all the disciplined skills, then snapped out with precision just when you stopped looking for it. He'd hover in the high ground, seeming like innocent fun, then bam! It seemed like it took Kristen Bell a couple visits to really catch on (like until the cooking one), when she realized it was a total playground, then she was a kaleidoscope of wit and character. To be fair, when she first appeared she wasn't very established in her career, but as she got more confident with more successful work under her banner, she could afford to play hard in public. Looking forward to how other long-time pros like Betty White play it.
This is actually why I keep coming back at it. It s a real stand up/ comedy show, where Craig actually is the only one imo that succeed in keeping the improv dna.
Craig honestly had the best talk show on tv. He's the only one you get guests actually being comfortable, and relatable. If I was talent I would prefer to do this over the others. I wonder how many of his guests would agree
He had many guests voice their sadness that his show was ending. The only guests that didn't vibe with Craig were the ones that only appeared for PR, and didn't want Craig's style of riffing.
I remember Jennifer Beals was nervous about being on talk shows because she never did any prior to Craig. She would later return to Craig's show multiple times because he put her at ease.
Oh maaan, I absolutely lost it when Craig, taking a sip of Doogies water, said "IF that´s vodka things are gonna get very different around here" Brilliant.
If you notice, Fergueson is particular about whom he introduces as ".....my FRIEND". He more than often puts virtually every one of his guests at ease, but the more he genuinely likes and appreciates a guest as an individual (rather than a "celebrity" or a "star") the better the conversation.
Man i miss all these guys. Craig, Geoff, Secretariat, the Racist, that one dark haired intern, "check z tweets" "assmode"... Thanks for putting together!! Hit the buttons for you.
THIS WAS THE GREATEST SHOW IN LATE NIGHT! So risky and free form, edgy and hilarious. Miss it and Craig like crazy. So, I can read lips. Like for real. 👍 At 1:25:43, if you look at this time stamp, as NPH comes out, he clearly mouths the words “Hi there stud!” to Craig, who slightly blushes, does that little head shake with a big ass grin and gives him a HUGE hug. Then NPH immediately talks about what he “did” (himself, that’s who he did 🤣😉) because of Craig’s monologue and is CLEARLY sexed up for Craiggy 🤣 Love it when they flirt w/ each other cause they’re both so hot😂NPH flirts w/ Craig in such a passive way and Craig tries to ignore, but clearly enjoys it, but you can cut the sexual tension w/ a knife. Check out the time stamp. It’s priceless. 🤣👍👏
Thanks you made my day. I used to play that game with a friend of mine who could lip read saying dirty things and my breath.... like 'elephant shoes'. Mouth it to yourselves children, exaggeratingly, and you'll understand.
Great compilation Jayleno Fly! Watching this after years and laughed like I did the first time. What I found really cool is that after most clips end, the next one began with Craig as if he's just finished watching the last clip of himself with NPH. It seems like a nice little demonstration of meta (the dictionary one not the Zuckerberg one). Nice editing there.
This is one of the best if not the best Craig Ferguson videos channel on youtube. You always give us what we want and that's why I'm very grateful for your hard work. I really enjoyed Emily. She almost beat Craig in his own game :D
Just because it's something I do; but when NPH started being all regal 1:25:25 as Craig presented him with the Gold Harmonica, I remembered that Neil played King Charlies VII of France, in the 1999 mini-series Joan of Arc. What a smarmy little monarch he was in that. ;)
I can't believe I watched the whole thing. The worst part is when i caught myself laughing out loud. 😆😆😆 It's great how he is seems to actually like his guest and have real conversations with them. Thanks for these collection of interviews. I have been watching them a lot this weekend. Robin Williams, Emma Thompson and the rest are just so magical. ( See what i did there?) Magical, i kill myself. Thank you again for putting these out ✌️🦁 Oh, Happy 2022🎉
I watched a rerun of "What We Do in the Shadows" today. In one scene a vampire introduces the members of his crew. Three of them are called Neil, Patrick, and Harris.
"Your bracelet would go off"..... I had no idea NPH was so funny. I thought this was an amazingly quick witted line and it really didn't get that much of a laugh.
Is Neil Patrick Harris just the God damn best .... ever?! FFS he is so funny and smooth - and just seems like a guy that just rules whatever room he is in! So funny to me, considering he and I are like the same age, and I started out watching him on Doogie Howser so long ago when I was a kid! Never would have guessed he'd have gone from "Doogie" to NPH and like RULE TV!
"performing oysters" 😂😂😂😂 For those unfamiliar with people that seek & find the human connection in others, let alone in nearly everyone, for those unfamiliar with mental agility--no one will ever come close Craig so fast with monologues that are unscripted, stream of consciousness interviews, too many "throw away," lines to count. The straightest gay man and the gayest straight man have a ball!
Lol well put
wow this is deep and i totally agree! thx for another laugh while watching this :D
Craig is bi change my mind
@Careful Icarus he is just flirting to much with guys I don't know Maybe he just has a flirty personality To be honest I don't really care
You totally nailed it.
Going through all these clips, in the end I feel sad. Really miss this guy on late night :(

Yes but Craig needed to move on and has and is doing other things
it's amazing how craig can flirt with absolutely everyone, hes so charming
I know, I think he's the only bisexual in the world who is successful in that regard. 😭
Craig builds such strong relationships with his guests, great character trait.
Yes actually I gained more respect for NPH after I learned that he's good friends with Craig. lol
Their chemistry makes it feel like you're with a couple of friends hanging out at a bar. Totally natural, genuine. Love it.

Actually, quite a brilliant observation. The 'play time' quality of the show is one of the things that made it so endearing.
This is actually why I keep coming back at it.
It s a real stand up/ comedy show, where Craig actually is the only one imo that succeed in keeping the improv dna.

I miss this show..... still re-watching in 2021
11:58 “I love the UA-cam” Craig we all love you on the UA-cam!!! Miss this guy!!!
I wonder if he still says “The Twitter and the Facebook?”
Dude omg i just have to say you are by far the best editor, greaaaaat videos man, you really have a lot of talent!!
Thank you Angel! I'll take that compliment :D
I laughed so hard at this! These two are amazing together!
Oh maaan, I absolutely lost it when Craig, taking a sip of Doogies water, said "IF that´s vodka things are gonna get very different around here" Brilliant.
these 2 have perfect comedic timing together...amazing. and seem to be actual friends. 😎

God bless you Mate. Thanx a lot for all the hard work
Glad you enjoyed this, Sure thing!:D
I miss Craig. Also, that "is.....that a restaurant?" cracks me up every time.
Craig is king of genuine conversation. Just an absolute quick witted juggernaut of simple conversation.

Some of the funniest things about this, is that somtimes it looks like Craig was just watching the last clip that was played in the compilation.
Lol

The best moment indeed!
I did’t get it 😅
I repeated that moment maaaaany times hahahahaha NPH is the best
He was one of the best guests of the show
What's the joke here?
Now I have seen a lot of these guest appearances, but I think Neil had the best reaction with the whole "This is not actually a late night show" bit.
I love how he always does that stretch before sitting,
Ikr :D
Minus one 2/3 in
lol thanks so much for the intro, classic swarley right there
...wouldn't you like to go..! X
Craig can milk ANY Guest/Show for all it's worth. This man is a master... Why this show was never in Prime time is beyond me...
Would kinda ruin the format. A bit like art bell on midnight in the desert radio, the freaks come out tune in and lose their shit in the early hours.
Finally. Pure awesomeness
Coolest guy on earth! So smooth it’s insane!
1:23:13 Peak happiness right there
CRIED laughing at the redheaded assistant bit 🤣🤣
16 visits in just 3 years? This really wasn't a 'Late Show' lol
I've been watching CF all day and laughing non stop. I think it's the fact that he reminds me of a summation of every class clown in class.
59:20 when Craig paused on the word "weird" everyone including NPH was like wtf for a second and then he continued the story 😂😂😂
1:18:36 NPH having his own talk show, would, just, be, epic!
YOU CUT OUT THE MAGIC SHOW, UN BELIEVABLE!!

I noticed Craig’s accent Americanize over time. So subtle but real
Awesome collection
that was very very good, laughed my ass off, he is a great guest
Was this the only talk show that brings back the same guests so many times? :D
Apart from coast to coast am nightly radio, Craig has one guy on 42 times!
I love Craig’s disdain for his show! And don’t get me started on my love of Neil Patrick Harris! 🥰
"We're having a good time on How I Met Your Mother. You watch it?"
"Nah."
"Your bracelet would go off"..... I had no idea NPH was so funny. I thought this was an amazingly quick witted line and it really didn't get that much of a laugh.
You think you could compile the magic week performances perhaps by year?
Nice idea!
The 5:02 awkward pause was one of the best so far! :D

they have such great chemistry :)
Is Neil Patrick Harris just the God damn best .... ever?! FFS he is so funny and smooth - and just seems like a guy that just rules whatever room he is in!

Ive seen the Late Late Show comp with Michael Sheen about 3 times cuz I love him but I love neil too
Just noticed that the CBS executive on the show is Kelly from Ash vs. Evil Dead.
LMAO, that was really good! thx
Neil looks so confused because of the abrupt ending at 53:03 XXXDDDDD
I've watched enough of Craig's content that I feel like there's a joke somewhere between the rattlesnake part and the trousers bit.
‘Gay content’ moment is at 36:21.
Neil should have been the guest on Craig's last show. He would have been perfect!
God I miss this show

Craig, and others, Grey is the complement to all colours. Great dress sense on the first video, bold but excellent in fact 😎
OMG! Possibly the first time I ever caught the CBS censor not doing his job ;) 1:13:05! They didn't censor Neil when he repeated "You're fucked"! :O
@Steven H ...Uh yeah there is, first Craig says "You're fucked" and it gets censored, but then Neil repeats what he said at 1:13:08
is it just me, or is NPH blushing profusely during his appearance after doing the intros for Magic Week?
