Yes! I grew up Catholic and am still relatively close with my faith but I didn't go to church much growing up because my dad doesn't believe in it. He is very religious and reads the bible daily but he feels like the establishment of the church is what has turned so many away from a faith that I think would help so many people in their lives. Due to the idea that we Catholics aren't very accepting, I don't really let my religion be known especially because I exist in a lot of queer spaces, being trans myself. This in and of itself surprises a lot of people - a person who is Catholic AND trans - but I mostly attribute my faith to growing up with religion but without the church. A person's religious journey does often involve community but it can also be so much more personal and unique to one individual than people realise!

As someone with religious trauma and who is still going through said religious trauma since at the moment I can't escape the situation I'm in, this song REALLY resonated with me. Not only did it make me wanna cry for how well understood I felt just by listening to this song, but it also made me feel empowered like I could fight a god while simultaneously wanting to cry. I was raised in the catholic faith thanks to my mother (PLEASE dont hate on her, she’s an amazing woman and she didnt do anything wrong), but as I grew up, and discovered more about myself, I started to distance myself from catholicism, and to a certain point, christianity as a whole, however my parents still make me go to a presbyterian church with my dad. @twelvepigeons well, part of it depends on what type of witch you are (not gonna list all the types here but ye) but some of the things I have started doing due to my practice are manifestation, meditation, carrying certain crystals with me for spiritual protection, collecting rain water, spiritual cleansing with incense and things like that. As someone with religious trauma and who is still going through said religious trauma since at the moment I can't escape the situation I'm in, this song REALLY resonated with me. Not only did it make me wanna cry for how well understood I felt just by listening to this song, but it also made me feel empowered like I could fight a god while simultaneously wanting to cry. Especially when the line "I can fix him for your daddy up above, cuz' there's just no hate like Christian love" came. GOD that hits hard as a transgender and bisexual minor with an extremely religious and abusive mother who justifies her abuse by saying she's just trying to "save/help" me😅

@twelvepigeons well, part of it depends on what type of witch you are (not gonna list all the types here but ye) but some of the things I have started doing due to my practice are manifestation, meditation, carrying certain crystals with me for spiritual protection, collecting rain water, spiritual cleansing with incense and things like that. I'm an atheist, but when i was younger i was pressured into believing in god because one day i would burn in hell if i didn't, but the older i grew the more loopholes there were when it came to the Bible. Such as the lyric "nice denim jeans and polyester sweater" which is considered a sin, since in the Bible it's written that wearing mixed fabrics is a SIN. I respect Christians, and any religion at that, however it's simply doesn't make sense for me to worship a god that will send you to hell for mixing clothes.

I was always told that if you aren't "saved by God" that you'd go to hell, I always thought that it was just some lie made up by the church to scare people into the religion, because it definitely left a mark of religious trauma on me.
