Palestinians have lived under Israeli occupation for more than 60 years. Their homes and land have been stolen and their status reduced to that of refugees in their own country. But instead of uniting against a common enemy, Palestinians are divided, between the Islamists in Hamas who rule Gaza, and the Palestinian Authority (PA) that governs the West Bank. Many accuse the PA of being Israeli stooges and their mismanagement of everything from unemployment, sky-rocketing prices, water rights, taxation and border issues have made them deeply unpopular. Postponing elections simply prolongs the crisis. The paradox is that Ramallah, the unofficial capital of the occupied territories, is booming, with aid money pouring in to assuage the world's guilty consciences. Many worry that this is breeding an aid-dependent culture and further weakening Palestinian resistance. And what hope is there of any permanent solution? Will the Palestinians continue to live in limbo, in one state, two states, or even three states?

Wow. Amazing how you can point to Israel for everything and all self-criticism stops. There is no clear indication of what is the objective of the struggle, which land is occupied, what people are represented, how Israelis fit into this, how is Israel profiting from the occupation, etc. it is all vague generalized blaming. Problem solving involves looking at specifics and good analysis of all the issues. Not just blaming Israel.

Look up "do you want two state solution", the guy interviews young Palestinians, most of them, I think all of them, want a one-state solution, meaning this conflict will go on for a much more time.

I wonder how a conversation like that happened about 1400 years ago when the Muslims conquered the Holy Land and eventually the Arabization was established by superseding the language, culture, and even the religion of its native people, as their language, the Aramaic, had to give way to Arabic and Christianity was being replaced by Islam. Did they have the same kind of conversation? I just wonder ...

Its a very straight forward situation- there needs to be a balance between Palestinian freedom and Israel's security concerns. It appears that the Palestinian leadership, enjoys delaying the peace process, as it benefits their own corruption and greed. Eventually, the Palestinians will demand that their leadership abandon their violent charter against Israel, and when that happens... they will have their state.

The Palestinians will wait forever if they wait for Israel approval. The only response now is a three state solution. The people of Gaza must make their Declaration of Independence, hold a constitutional convention, elect a government under the Constitution and send out the call for diplomatic recognition, all without waiting or pausing for Israel to approve anything. When Gaza declares Independence that will encourage the West Bank to also declare their Independence. Only by the Palestinians declaring Independence and setting up their constitutional governments can the process move forward.

Dear Palestinians, look around your region, you have Syria, Iraq, Egypt and Jordan and Israel. Your elected governments are Hamas and PLO. Why don't you for once choose peace and live with the best government in the middle east? God has so much land, what did Hamas do to Gaza after Israel left? What will you become if Israel disappears? What made it "their territory?" For the prior 400 years it was ruled by Turks, Brits & Jordan. Israel captured it in a defensive war, after Jordan attacked Israel. Does the video assume conquest by war is only legal when Arabs do it?
