It's still badass. It has something unique and nostalgic, the slightly aggresive hair, sparks/lightning and keeping that 'classic' yellow aura. I like all the DB Super transformations but, it's just not the same.
Oh yes!!! It finally happened! I never thought the day would come when this would ever be uploaded. This episode of Dragon Ball Z is is nostalgic, although to be honest I actually I hate that word. Transforming into Super Saiyan 3 is one of the most memorable and the most iconic episodes.

It’s only 49 seconds long and begins with a part of “Long Flashback” and ends with snippets of “Gohan Fights Frieza”. It’s honestly a pointless inclusion, but I thought I’d mention it since it seems to be a part of this track.

Ah man, this scene brings back so many good childhood memories. Every time that first note hits at 04:00 I get chills/goosebumps as I never read the manga (we still didn’t have a steady supply in the uk at that point) so I thought ssj2 was it…..but when this happened, I can hear the younger me seeing this for the first time freaking out

Ironic that ss3 has not only been nerfed by the first few mins of ep 1 DBS (Beerus wasnt even scratched, and he stopped and KO'd Goku with one finger) but its arguably the most obsolete transformation now too: ss1 is still used as a base, along with ss2, Vegeta surpassed ss3 in ss2 himself (Great Super Saiyan) and Goku says it's the most draining transformation too Oh well, it was sick back in the day, and this remains one of the best transformation scenes and themes
To be fair, the fact that Beerus brushed it off so easy wasn't because the SSJ3 form was nerfed, it's just that he was so powerful that no form that wasn't a god level form was going to touch him. You can put Buu Saga Mystic Gohan or anyone from DBZ in their strongest form against him and he still would dominate the fight easily. Plus normal Ki blasts don't affect gods so that gave Goku an extra disadvantage.
@@MrKingpin1205 I didnt say it wasnt comparable in DBZ, but Beerus wasnt the only one where SS3 would be pretty much meaningless though. The first fight with Golden Frieza for example, he even got the upperhand against SSB for a bit, Grill would just copy SS3 and put it right back at Goku, Hit wouldve easily tanked it just as he increased his potential against SSB, Zamasu once he trained especially Black Goku went far beyond ss3 as well, and a good large chunk of TOP fighters were SS3 level or higher
@@joshfish2 Those are all his DBS fights so ofc SSJ3 wouldn't work if he's having a hard time fighting them in SSB. A better example would be his DBZ fight against Super Buu and how that form was basically useless in that fight. I was just giving the transformation a benefit of a doubt for the Beerus fight because of the disadvantage i mentioned in my first comment and the fact that Beerus was far above Goku's strength when they first met. Any other fight, i would agree with you're saying but the Beerus fight was completely different as no transformation prior to that fight would've worked against a god outside of SSG and SSB. The only exception was the whole Vegeta thing but that was only because he was mad and a saiyan power shoots up when they get pissed off and even, Galick Gun still didn't faze him.

I wanted to voice my thoughts on SSJ3. I am of the thought that of if Goku had gone SSJ3 on Majin Vegeta in the middle of their fight that he would've freaking destroyed Vegeta though I could be wrong on that. I would love to hear others thoughts an opinions on this belief sorry if I just started a conversation war lol. DBZ is my favorite Anime of all time and I am 32 I was a 90s baby so I grew up watching all of the original DBZ stuff.

The first fight with Golden Frieza for example, he even got the upperhand against SSB for a bit, Grill would just copy SS3 and put it right back at Goku, Hit wouldve easily tanked it just as he increased his potential against SSB, Zamasu once he trained especially Black Goku went far beyond ss3 as well, and a good large chunk of TOP fighters were SS3 level or higher
@@joshfish2 Those are all his DBS fights so ofc SSJ3 wouldn't work if he's having a hard time fighting them in SSB. A better example would be his DBZ fight against Super Buu and how that form was basically useless in that fight.
I was just giving the transformation a benefit of a doubt for the Beerus fight because of the disadvantage i mentioned in my first comment and the fact that Beerus was far above Goku's strength when they first met. Any other fight, i would agree with you're saying but the Beerus fight was completely different as no transformation prior to that fight would've worked against a god outside of SSG and SSB. The only exception was the whole Vegeta thing but that was only because he was mad and a saiyan power shoots up when they get pissed off and even, Galick Gun still didn't faze him.

I wanted to voice my thoughts on SSJ3. I am of the thought that of if Goku had gone SSJ3 on Majin Vegeta in the middle of their fight that he would've freaking destroyed Vegeta though I could be wrong on that. I would love to hear others thoughts an opinions on this belief sorry if I just started a conversation war lol. DBZ is my favorite Anime of all time and I am 32 I was a 90s baby so I grew up watching all of the original DBZ stuff.
