You can actually queue in Red Battlefield (PvP) with your Trial Character. it may not be as strong as the other players, but it is definitely stronger that a beginner set.
Found this game on a recommendation from some online friends I have. Never knew this existed. I'm thinking about downloading. So I stopped by here to check out what it was about. And I think I might give it a try.

And even with the huge changes they made in the game... You still won't have a leisure time without first dying for it... Well that was an exaggeration... It can be lenient at times... But it has no mercy if you play blindly... Better communicate with other players and fill your browser with tabs worth of information... A small mistake is all you need to give yourself a nightmare... And depending on how much you are interested with the term "Roleplay", this game would be good for ya...
I've been playing BDO since closed beta, and I'm still hooked, it's actually more fun today than when starting out. I'm not into PVP at all, and there's still plenty of various things to do both at sea and at land...trading, hunting, gathering, hunting seamonsters by ship, bartering, exploring new areas. I just love this game, and taking some time off from it now and then keeps it from becoming boring.
@@James_744 Oh, computer spec's is not the issue in my case, it's just that I'm not into PVP. I would love it if there could be a dedicated PVE server where killing other players were disabled. I just can't see the fun in killing a fellow player hauling tradegoods worth millions in silver just for him/her loosing it all. PVP may be fun for the competitive players, but they could do it with likeminded people...

For anyone thinking about getting into bdo, i have 3.8k hours in-game and I'm only soft cap level. There's no pve besides killing mobs in circles for hours and there's no social aspect really besides guilds, and it's pretty much a solo game
It’s the truth… once you get past level 50 the fun game you once knew is gone. Just grinding AP and DP till max and hoping you don’t come across a stranger
I think you missed one of the biggest Cons for pvp; The latency and FPS is a MAJOR issue. Protections or CCs will just sometimes not work because of net code or frame drops leading to extremely frustrating moments.
@@maleficenttheheirs2991 nah even with runescape graphics (something you need to delve into weird settings for that is not available in game) and a 2080Ti you still get dog fps when there is 160+ people in a single spot. The game is simply not optimized for large scale PvP.

I’ve been playing a lot this year and I cannot wait for the new class. I’ve been playing since release on console on and off but it’s now when I’m actually trying new things like life skill and going out to sea.
Literally none of those games mentioned with an exception to crimson dessert (for obvious reasons) have this vast amount of moves and classes along with crazy visuals. I played all 3 dark souls and each weapon only gives you a few basic looking moves. Dragons dogma is the same thing. Only a FEW moves to play with. There's like 20 different moves at least on bdo. Also i haven't seen pillars of eternity, ill check it out!
My brain melted when I came back to play BDO after taking a break. I love the combat but hate the upgrade and grind system. I went back to play Destiny 2 and Bf4 lol. Straight foward gameplay.
@@OrangeRocks1986 What "grind" in BF4? You play the game, you unlock attachments as you go, it's not a grind, you just gain things as you have fun playing the game.
@@FlaxeMusic Every game you play has a grind. It's sad that you don't see what Battlefield 4 grind is. Let me spell it out for you. The first grind is unlocking weapons. Second grind is leveling up the weapons and getting all the attachments. These two together makes for a long grind. That's not even mentioning the loot crates for attachments/skins being unlocked this way.

New players need comunity to be able progress fast, i need 1 month to understand game system froom google and youtube, but having guildmate teaching you pve and pvp in discord sure more fun, so community is number 1 after all.
It's a Korean game, it is focused in grinding and pvp. When I say Korean, I mean that the game is pretty much a second work, and you have to put a lot of time and effort on it to make real progression. Your average BDO player will tell you that this is not the case, and this game is no longer a farming hell, but that because they like this game style and they don't found anything wrong with this. I personally just bought it last year, played it for like, a week, and stopped playing because I got bored of the gameplay (BTW the combat style was what drived me to get the game in first place, however you might see a lot of flashing lights and things, but with the time and the grinding, the combat condenses into fighting all the same, in an efficient way, and just keep repeting the same for hours). Then I started to play with friends, this time playing a lot more (when you play with friend in discord, every game becomes funnier) but after a while (well more like 10 days) I became borred again and haven't played since. I'd only recomend this game if you like games with a lot of farming and you have lots of spare time to dump in this game.
This is the mmo where one day you can log in because u have been having so much fun for 3 months then feel today is the day u get that upgrade. Then to have it be destroyed because it failed again. Then you sit there like, "whats the point of this game when I can't control my progression of how strong my character can get". Everytime I watch bdo its me wanting to play it but I just know I hate rng being the reason for my upgrade.
Bruh same, and I generally love trying to figure all the little bits out, complicated games are all I play: EQ1, Dota, SC2, Eve Online, X3, Dwarf Fortress- Literally painful games to break in to. But Black Desert, this shit was just utter fucking cancer. Nearly impossible to untangle without a video breaking it down. I realize now I love breaking things down that have depth for GOOD REASONS. "ohhh do this board game thing, oh wow you got some free stuff, combat, combos, nodes, BUY OUR CURRENCY" and aaaaaall the fucking UI elements, christ. A filled bottom bar of random icons wherein some do pretty much exactly the same shit, "claim this thing" "claim this slightly different form of thing we decided we needed another button for", it's just in-fucking-sane how much of a hot mess trying to get into this game is. If I can barely swallow it all, god help anyone with less patience.

well IT IS the convenience part that is THE P2W, since you will progress faster the faster you pickup items, hence the pets, you can repair mid grind with tent, you can change horse skills as you see fit and make it into a easy courser, you can rebirth a radiant fairy instead of trying to get another one... And yes the fairy does play a big part in making it extremely easy to just "put potion in and forget" others have to actually pay attention to pop pots while fairy users can just pop it in and get auto-pots, costumes gives Crons "although small but still in there even though we asked at launch to not have it in game" and many many other stuff... I like the game and play it, but I don't like giving out false info that it's pay for convenience... when IT IS clearly P2W.
Added comment: Yes it is worth trying this game if you are hungry for something innovating in the MMORPG genre, I would say try it super casually at first, just try and get some idea how the game plays out, and well if you are ready to support the devs, then well pay the "monthly sub" which is the value pack... but I do really not recommend spending more than necessary

Yup that is true. You can buy costumes and go to a NPC and extract them to Cron stones which you can use so your gear won't downgrade when you enhance. That is in my opinion P2W and i have played this game for over 2000 hours.
if anyone is wondering most areas you will not find pvp at least until you get closer to the end game grind spots. oh and pvp isnt always on you can flag up but if you attack an unflagged player you loose karma. and you and flag anywhere and unflag after being out of combat for a time
@@parallaxoldchannel Well yeah but you have to understand the more you play and gain Ap the more you make per hour. I'm at the point I need billions to make 3 ap gains but grinding stars end or Imps will net you 200+ mil per hour. No doubt the game is grindy but i wouldn't worry about being competitive. You can hit 265 ap in under a month and you hit for quite a bit for pvp. Otherwise just play for fun and enjoy the game.

Someone at Pearl Abyss seriously needs to add that upgrading your console from an Xbox One to an Xbox One s/x greatly improves the game's performance.... to the point that it's almost like playing a different game.
reason to play is to pvp, end game is pvp speaking of pvp your skill is only contributing 10% towards your class or character 90% is based on equipments so, its ok if you are brain dead and still winning the game as long as you grind hard and spend some $$ in the game
18:40, so you're telling me that I dont have to spend money on pets to be able to effectively do grinding spots if my clear time is fast enough? Serious question because a year ago I literally was not keeping up with 5 tier 2 pets...
@@dottzgaming that's so nice. I've spent like 150usd total and only got 2 pets for free, but that was 2-3 years ago. All I could muster up with that investment was 4 T2's... It really makes a difference then. I'm happy to hear that this game goes in right direction.
This game is just full of grinding. It has nice graphics and good combat, but you will have to grind at least 3-4 hours everyday to compete with anyone possible. That's for the players who already has at least few 62+ characters. I have played this game pretty heavily, but at some point, this game feels like homework. Also if you start now, you will never be able to close the gap with the older players who have been playing for 5+ years. Not recommended game. Now that they removed seasonal servers, time you need will be more than a year to catch up (a year with grinding everyday at least 6 hours of pure grinding time excluding moving.) If you play anything with other players such as battlefields or guild pvps, you will just be a minion who gets one combo-ed even if you have full tet gears with 1 or 2 pens. So would you want to start this game to spend all that time and money for playing by yourself? My recommendation is no. Why play MMORPG when you will be playing single player game?
i already play this game for 3 days, and i've been grinding for 2-4 hour everyday my level is 51 right now. i dont think i need to catch up with other player as long i am happy and having fun that is the purpose of MMORPG.

It's not that you have 2 pens, but you only have 2 pens. You are just a minion in pvp, battlefields, and guild wars. I just bought this game for PS4. It’s clunky and glitchy. The quest seem to make no sense.. the upside is the combat is ridiculous. this is really tough to get into.
Ask your self this question, you walk into a casino, you saw a sign that tells you, at high level, your winning chance in this casino is " 0% " (no joke), but.. you can pay extra to boost to the max winning % to 5% ish . would you put your money in and wish to win big? if yes, get ready for pain. that's how this game's gear leveling works, higher tier = low chance of successes, up to 0%. here is the bonus.. there is a penalty for failing upgrade your gear.... no worry, there is other "in game items" to avoid or repair the penalty. Btw there is little PVE in this game besides open world mob/boss grind. no dungeon, no raid. there is PVP, which give the well geared players advantage. It's a good game. depends on how much dough you willing to spend or how many hours you willing to grind.
Completely false they have added tons of new PVE stuff. The first ever dungeon is coming out soon with 3 more in the works and enhancing is so much easier now compared to the old school days. There is no enhancement in the game that has a 0% chance that would mean that it literally won't upgrade at all which does not exist. Currently the lowest chance is pen fallen god armor which is 0.33% if I'm not mistaken so it's still not a "0%" chance and you no longer have to spend a bunch of money in this game at all there are so many rewards you get for free the only thing you should spend money on is a tent and that's it.

Hi ive never played mmorpgs before for a long time. But im thinking about playing bdo. Is it a good time to start now? And if so should i play on steam or client? The problem is that i have steam money but not a credit card. So im wondering if ill be able to purchase things using steam money if i play on client.
In my opinion I think ESO is doing a way better job at pvp. It requires way more skill because you see in BDO pvp only depends on gear and not skill. Lets say you have praticed over 10 hours in 1v1 with your char to get good at pvp but you do not have that good gear. A person with less skill then you would still beat your ass as long as he has better gear then you. Im sry to say this but you will have a way better time if you don'¨t play this game.

I LOVE Black Desert... ...but after thousands of hours - I still don't have the money/level = Gear to put up any form of resistance to the no-lifers doing the node-wars. The Gear-Check is a hard block against any new players wanting to join at this point. To the point where I had a string of characters I kept under the PVP level limit, as to "opt out" of the PVP in order to be able to do life-skills without constantly being ganked. Had BDO been purely PVE - I would likely have lost my life playing it... or just the final tiers of Equipment not being orders of magnitude better. Without a full set of boss gear - enchanted to at least +4. You have no shot. (Even getting a single piece of these items require hundreds of hours worth of grinding) This is the most magnificent MMO I have ever seen/played... with the best combat ever done... with an amount of grinding that will kill 90% of any enjoyment... the last 10% are lost with the constant ganking.
pls help me i got the game and then i clicked start game then something popped out saying "greeting adventrerur you need to get a package to start you epic adventure in black desert please get yourself a package to start your journey" then it redireced me to the place to buy packages i closed the tab and try to start the game again and it keeps telling me to buy package
I just want to make one comment about the pay to win thing. Even WoW has basically become "pay to win". You can buy WoW tokens for money, sell those for gold, and then use that gold to buy mythic+, raid, and PvP carries. So even WoW has pay to win stuff in it
Maybe need to add, that the high end grind spots basically force you to PvP. Yes u can always change servers until u find a spot that isn't taken, but when u want to grind on the top 3 spots in the game...expect PvP. If u really don't want to PvP, the best way is to go into the Desert. When u kill someone in the desert and then get killed, u will get send to prison, which most people don't risk. Aakman and Hystria, the two top tier grind spots in the desert are probably getting reworked soon, after all other Valencia Grind Spots got reworked.
What, need contribution points (you get from different game activities) to hire worlers? How does that make sense? I thought Korean game devs know very well the concept of money. That's how you buy labour (or if no money, give stuff to workers). Contribution points? Energy potions? What kind of sillyness is that? Sounds artificial kind of sillyness to me).
I think the best point and advice from this video is that if you dont want to play the enhancement game. Buy your upgrade and sell the item youre replacing. It sucks because the amount of grind involved but you are bypassing a progress mechanic. /shrug
Thanks for putting this vid together! I've played a lot of pvp mmos but never gave bdo a try cause the stigma around it. Think I'll give it a go now! Question for ya if you have the time - you said there's no real lower level pvp, how long should I expect to play before I get to enjoy any actual pvp content? I've played a lot of other titles and there's usually at least lower level battlegrounds or unranked stuff to do before 'endgame' pvp. I'm pretty casual since I've only limited time now Edit: Sorry forgot to ask, will you be making a class choice video? It's wild how many there are, not sure of their playstyles or anything, most vids just talk about what's strongest
Class choice vid is on the list, not sure on eta. And there is 1 type of lower pvp called t1 node wars, but they're scheduled. Super fun tho! And it shouldn't take too long to get to that point. Atm there is no queueable low geared pvp, which I hope comes in the future!
He did miss something though. So u can make a trial character of whatever class u want to play and use it at the battle arena to get a grasp of the class and what it's like at softish cap.but to get to enjoying the game on your own character in PvP without there being a season up at this moment it could take u 5+7 months to get to soft cap your self if not a year. Take it from me though it's extremely worth it and satisfying going from being completely owned by more geared people to owning people at halfway between soft cap and hard cap.
For what class to play i suggest to look up all of them and see which one is good looking for you since u will spend a lot of time on it might as well like it no? If u want to start the easiest ones would be awakening guardian (few buttons to press, chill time, good in pvp, best class for lower grinds spots in pve ), the other one would be succesion nova rly easy to play u have a permanent protection and u spam 5 buttons (its not that good for pve later on but u can change to awakening which is much harder to play). For low level pvp u could go Battle Arena (BA) make a char and get free gear and all skills where u can learn how to master the class, to 1v1 .. 10v10 if u have some friends or guild mates, others would be T1 node wars however u might not like that since most people play meta classes and u cannot do much or if seasonal is up u can pvp open world with everyone around same gear or a group fight. How fast u can gear up, it depends how much time u invest easiest way would be through seasonal servers in 1 month u could have 250 ap around softcap if u know what u are doing. Keep in mind u can get free items like armor and weapons at lvl 56 for free + story items should be around that too(1-2 weeks). I recommend picking a class u like and do the story and explore the world after that u can try life skilling and pick 2 or 3 that u like and then pick a zone and start grinding. There are plenty of guides about everything Hope it helped a bit

Just bought the game on steam for 0.99 euro. I'm usually not a big fan of PVP, but for that price, I'm going to give it a go. I loved wurm online/unlimited, so maybe it'll be my cup of tea after all. Time will tell when it's done installing.
But all classes can use only one (well some Imaybe two) weapon, until after "Awakening" they can use another weapon. Two weapons, that's really limited. And heck, do I want that ridiculous lance for the Valkyrie? Absolutely not. And some profession had HUGE chakram, that also looked so stupid. That you can't use different weapons is very big minus to me. Traditionally in RPGs you can use a wide variety of different weapons.
Not too bad. They added Narchillian gear which is better than Season gear and you get simply for getting your Naru to PEN and exchanging it. So any new player now has a chance to get to softcap without having to deal with seasons.

They mobs are soo much harder to kill because they have increased accuracy. Good loot never drops unless you there for HOURS. Retail has better loot than this crap of a server. Owh and also some pearl market items are only acquired through their bs website by paying real money. Their "membership" thing is a huge scam it does not give the correct amount of horse exp nor pearls per hour.. also enhancing is harder with it. Overall STAY AWAY from GaezBD.

Someone get envious of others, the one on the top leave the others behind, get arrogant, etc. If you ever heading the same situation, recall Dottz points. Hopefully can stabilize your gaming mood because it can be very annoying when your friends just flexing around and makes you wanna sprint the progress. It's not healthy. Trust me you would not. Skyrim is such a fantastic game that you would be sad to see how bad this game is compared to Skyrim. Unless you want to spennd 1000 of hours to grind to get gear and waste your life away.
I feel like the number one problem with BDO is not that it cannot attract players. There is always a ton of new players. The problem is BDO cant retain players. Cause its just so easy to quit the game. Just blow up your gear. We are talking about months or years of progression gone in 5 minutes. Ofcourse you cant retain players. Any other mmo I play, I just come back to where I left off. And thats hardly the case for most BDO quiters.
Are you going to focus more on gathering/cooking/bartering for BDO, and making more guides about it? Also they used to have a gear capped rbf but people didn't do it at all because new players were either grinding to get better gear or they go on BA

just got In to this and it's a fairly fun game but I've died 3 times because I can't move.. my character just stands there gets beaten while doing some stupid ass stance while I'm pressing every button yet nothing works except the menu any way to fix?

The one thing I noticed is there are a lot of returning players and or noobs, personally I love bdo but I does lack group content to some degree other then PvP and doesn’t have the traditional mmorpg archetype with tank, healer, dps, and rng is in every mmo so it’s not new but the rng is heavily incorporated in most aspects of the game but good luck finding an mmo that has no rng. I recommend bdo to everyone but I think it takes more work to get to end game and players now days seem to need instant gratification, it’s a marathon not a sprint.

Their UI and controls made me tap out after 1 hour, my brother is a top 10 xbox ninja and he couldn't make me play it more than an hour, so confusing, lots of of data and options in the menu its overwhelming (sorry im a slow learner) almost no PvE, no customization besides the shop, my brother loves it but I didnt get it hope make it more accesible and user friendly oh and I hate their quest management tool so laggy and dont know what and why im doing such quests

You can actually queue in Red Battlefield (PvP) with your Trial Character. it may not be as strong as the other players, but it is definitely stronger that a beginner set.

I've been playing BDO since closed beta, and I'm still hooked, it's actually more fun today than when starting out. I'm not into PVP at all, and there's still plenty of various things to do both at sea and at land...trading, hunting, gathering, hunting seamonsters by ship, bartering, exploring new areas. I just love this game, and taking some time off from it now and then keeps it from becoming boring.
PVP is terrible unless you have at least a 120fps monitor and beastly PC since kill speed / damage output is directly tied to your FPS
@@James_744 Oh, computer spec's is not the issue in my case, it's just that I'm not into PVP. I would love it if there could be a dedicated PVE server where killing other players were disabled. I just can't see the fun in killing a fellow player hauling tradegoods worth millions in silver just for him/her loosing it all. PVP may be fun for the competitive players, but they could do it with likeminded people...

For anyone thinking about getting into bdo, i have 3.8k hours in-game and I'm only soft cap level. There's no pve besides killing mobs in circles for hours and there's no social aspect really besides guilds, and it's pretty much a solo game
grind fest for hours just to get clapped by someone else while grinding smh

I think you missed one of the biggest Cons for pvp; The latency and FPS is a MAJOR issue. Protections or CCs will just sometimes not work because of net code or frame drops leading to extremely frustrating moments.
It’s expected iff your computer can’t take good graphics.
@@maleficenttheheirs2991 nah even with runescape graphics (something you need to delve into weird settings for that is not available in game) and a 2080Ti you still get dog fps when there is 160+ people in a single spot. The game is simply not optimized for large scale PvP.

It takes like a week to get a pretty good feel for everything. Don’t rush to max level tho. You’ll burn out quick. Get those nodes set up early lol

I’ve been playing a lot this year and I cannot wait for the new class. I’ve been playing since release on console on and off but it’s now when I’m actually trying new things like life skill and going out to sea.
The tent saves you a lot of time and I feel gives you a major advantage but ya unless you have endless pockets there is no major pay to win

Literally none of those games mentioned with an exception to crimson dessert (for obvious reasons) have this vast amount of moves and classes along with crazy visuals. I played all 3 dark souls and each weapon only gives you a few basic looking moves. Dragons dogma is the same thing. Only a FEW moves to play with. There's like 20 different moves at least on bdo. Also i haven't seen pillars of eternity, ill check it out!

My brain melted when I came back to play BDO after taking a break. I love the combat but hate the upgrade and grind system. I went back to play Destiny 2 and Bf4 lol. Straight foward gameplay.

Every game you play has a grind. It's sad that you don't see what Battlefield 4 grind is.
Let me spell it out for you. The first grind is unlocking weapons. Second grind is leveling up the weapons and getting all the attachments. These two together makes for a long grind.
That's not even mentioning the loot crates for attachments/skins being unlocked this way.

Now you also have me very wrong about the fun factor about games. On Xbox across all generations, I have about 500 games. I have about 2,000 PlayStation games across all generations. I don't even know how many games I have on the PC.
I love video games and I love exploring their worlds and immerse myself into their worlds. You'd think that after me playing video games for 30 years, I'd be tired of it, but it's been my hobby for the longest time. Video games are all inclusive and for everyone.

So please don't assume that you know that I don't have any fun in video games. I play them for fun and not the grind.

New players need comunity to be able progress fast, i need 1 month to understand game system froom google and youtube, but having guildmate teaching you pve and pvp in discord sure more fun, so community is number 1 after all.
It's a Korean game, it is focused in grinding and pvp.
When I say Korean, I mean that the game is pretty much a second work, and you have to put a lot of time and effort on it to make real progression. Your average BDO player will tell you that this is not the case, and this game is no longer a farming hell, but that because they like this game style and they don't found anything wrong with this.
I personally just bought it last year, played it for like, a week, and stopped playing because I got bored of the gameplay (BTW the combat style was what drived me to get the game in first place, however you might see a lot of flashing lights and things, but with the time and the grinding, the combat condenses into fighting all the same, in an efficient way, and just keep repeting the same for hours). Then I started to play with friends, this time playing a lot more (when you play with friend in discord, every game becomes funnier) but after a while (well more like 10 days) I became borred again and haven't played since.
I'd only recomend this game if you like games with a lot of farming and you have lots of spare time to dump in this game.
This is the mmo where one day you can log in because u have been having so much fun for 3 months then feel today is the day u get that upgrade. Then to have it be destroyed because it failed again. Then you sit there like, "whats the point of this game when I can't control my progression of how strong my character can get". Everytime I watch bdo its me wanting to play it but I just know I hate rng being the reason for my upgrade.

Bruh same, and I generally love trying to figure all the little bits out, complicated games are all I play: EQ1, Dota, SC2, Eve Online, X3, Dwarf Fortress- Literally painful games to break in to. But Black Desert, this shit was just utter fucking cancer. Nearly impossible to untangle without a video breaking it down. I realize now I love breaking things down that have depth for GOOD REASONS. "ohhh do this board game thing, oh wow you got some free stuff, combat, combos, nodes, BUY OUR CURRENCY" and aaaaaall the fucking UI elements, christ. A filled bottom bar of random icons wherein some do pretty much exactly the same shit, "claim this thing" "claim this slightly different form of thing we decided we needed another button for", it's just in-fucking-sane how much of a hot mess trying to get into this game is. If I can barely swallow it all, god help anyone with less patience.

There used to be a geared capped instanced pvp but no one used. Also you can take a trail character into the instanced pvp.

well IT IS the convenience part that is THE P2W, since you will progress faster the faster you pickup items, hence the pets, you can repair mid grind with tent, you can change horse skills as you see fit and make it into a easy courser, you can rebirth a radiant fairy instead of trying to get another one...
And yes the fairy does play a big part in making it extremely easy to just "put potion in and forget" others have to actually pay attention to pop pots while fairy users can just pop it in and get auto-pots, costumes gives Crons "although small but still in there even though we asked at launch to not have it in game"
and many many other stuff... I like the game and play it, but I don't like giving out false info that it's pay for convenience... when IT IS clearly P2W.
Added comment: Yes it is worth trying this game if you are hungry for something innovating in the MMORPG genre, I would say try it super casually at first, just try and get some idea how the game plays out, and well if you are ready to support the devs, then well pay the "monthly sub" which is the value pack... but I do really not recommend spending more than necessary

Yup that is true. You can buy costumes and go to a NPC and extract them to Cron stones which you can use so your gear won't downgrade when you enhance. That is in my opinion P2W and i have played this game for over 2000 hours.

I'm at the point I need billions to make 3 ap gains but grinding stars end or Imps will net you 200+ mil per hour. No doubt the game is grindy but i wouldn't worry about being competitive. You can hit 265 ap in under a month and you hit for quite a bit for pvp. Otherwise just play for fun and enjoy the game.

This game is just full of grinding. It has nice graphics and good combat, but you will have to grind at least 3-4 hours everyday to compete with anyone possible. That's for the players who already has at least few 62+ characters. I have played this game pretty heavily, but at some point, this game feels like homework. Also if you start now, you will never be able to close the gap with the older players who have been playing for 5+ years. Not recommended game. Now that they removed seasonal servers, time you need will be more than a year to catch up (a year with grinding everyday at least 6 hours of pure grinding time excluding moving.) If you play anything with other players such as battlefields or guild pvps, you will just be a minion who gets one combo-ed even if you have full tet gears with 1 or 2 pens. So would you want to start this game to spend all that time and money for playing by yourself? My recommendation is no. Why play MMORPG when you will be playing single player game?

I just bought this game for PS4. It’s clunky and glitchy. The quest seem to make no sense.. the upside is the combat is ridiculous. this is really tough to get into.
Ask your self this question, you walk into a casino, you saw a sign that tells you, at high level, your winning chance in this casino is " 0% " (no joke), but.. you can pay extra to boost to the max winning % to 5% ish . would you put your money in and wish to win big? if yes, get ready for pain. that's how this game's gear leveling works, higher tier = low chance of successes, up to 0%. here is the bonus.. there is a penalty for failing upgrade your gear.... no worry, there is other "in game items" to avoid or repair the penalty.
Btw there is little PVE in this game besides open world mob/boss grind. no dungeon, no raid. there is PVP, which give the well geared players advantage.
It's a good game. depends on how much dough you willing to spend or how many hours you willing to grind.

Completely false they have added tons of new PVE stuff. The first ever dungeon is coming out soon with 3 more in the works and enhancing is so much easier now compared to the old school days. There is no enhancement in the game that has a 0% chance that would mean that it literally won't upgrade at all which does not exist. Currently the lowest chance is pen fallen god armor which is 0.33% if I'm not mistaken so it's still not a "0%" chance and you no longer have to spend a bunch of money in this game at all there are so many rewards you get for free the only thing you should spend money on is a tent and that's it.

In my opinion I think ESO is doing a way better job at pvp. It requires way more skill because you see in BDO pvp only depends on gear and not skill. Lets say you have praticed over 10 hours in 1v1 with your char to get good at pvp but you do not have that good gear. A person with less skill then you would still beat your ass as long as he has better gear then you. Im sry to say this but you will have a way better time if you don'¨t play this game.

I LOVE Black Desert...
...but after thousands of hours - I still don't have the money/level = Gear to put up any form of resistance to the no-lifers doing the node-wars. The Gear-Check is a hard block against any new players wanting to join at this point. To the point where I had a string of characters I kept under the PVP level limit, as to "opt out" of the PVP in order to be able to do life-skills without constantly being ganked.
Had BDO been purely PVE - I would likely have lost my life playing it... or just the final tiers of Equipment not being orders of magnitude better. Without a full set of boss gear - enchanted to at least +4. You have no shot. (Even getting a single piece of these items require hundreds of hours worth of grinding)
This is the most magnificent MMO I have ever seen/played... with the best combat ever done... with an amount of grinding that will kill 90% of any enjoyment... the last 10% are lost with the constant ganking.

I just want to make one comment about the pay to win thing. Even WoW has basically become "pay to win". You can buy WoW tokens for money, sell those for gold, and then use that gold to buy mythic+, raid, and PvP carries.
So even WoW has pay to win stuff in it
All my houses are storage because I don't know wtf to do with the items.
Maybe need to add, that the high end grind spots basically force you to PvP. Yes u can always change servers until u find a spot that isn't taken, but when u want to grind on the top 3 spots in the game...expect PvP. If u really don't want to PvP, the best way is to go into the Desert. When u kill someone in the desert and then get killed, u will get send to prison, which most people don't risk. Aakman and Hystria, the two top tier grind spots in the desert are probably getting reworked soon, after all other Valencia Grind Spots got reworked.
What, need contribution points (you get from different game activities) to hire worlers? How does that make sense? I thought Korean game devs know very well the concept of money. That's how you buy labour (or if no money, give stuff to workers). Contribution points? Energy potions? What kind of sillyness is that? Sounds artificial kind of sillyness to me).
I think the best point and advice from this video is that if you dont want to play the enhancement game. Buy your upgrade and sell the item youre replacing. It sucks because the amount of grind involved but you are bypassing a progress mechanic. /shrug

Question for ya if you have the time - you said there's no real lower level pvp, how long should I expect to play before I get to enjoy any actual pvp content? I've played a lot of other titles and there's usually at least lower level battlegrounds or unranked stuff to do before 'endgame' pvp. I'm pretty casual since I've only limited time now

And there is 1 type of lower pvp called t1 node wars, but they're scheduled. Super fun tho! And it shouldn't take too long to get to that point.

He did miss something though. So u can make a trial character of whatever class u want to play and use it at the battle arena to get a grasp of the class and what it's like at softish cap.but to get to enjoying the game on your own character in PvP without there being a season up at this moment it could take u 5+7 months to get to soft cap your self if not a year. Take it from me though it's extremely worth it and satisfying going from being completely owned by more geared people to owning people at halfway between soft cap and hard cap.
For what class to play i suggest to look up all of them and see which one is good looking for you since u will spend a lot of time on it might as well like it no? If u want to start the easiest ones would be awakening guardian (few buttons to press, chill time, good in pvp, best class for lower grinds spots in pve ), the other one would be succesion nova rly easy to play u have a permanent protection and u spam 5 buttons (its not that good for pve later on but u can change to awakening which is much harder to play). For low level pvp u could go Battle Arena (BA) make a char and get free gear and all skills where u can learn how to master the class, to 1v1 .. 10v10 if u have some friends or guild mates, others would be T1 node wars however u might not like that since most people play meta classes and u cannot do much or if seasonal is up u can pvp open world with everyone around same gear or a group fight. How fast u can gear up, it depends how much time u invest easiest way would be through seasonal servers in 1 month u could have 250 ap around softcap if u know what u are doing. Keep in mind u can get free items like armor and weapons at lvl 56 for free + story items should be around that too(1-2 weeks). I recommend picking a class u like and do the story and explore the world after that u can try life skilling and pick 2 or 3 that u like and then pick a zone and start grinding. There are plenty of guides about everything

There is just so much to do that it becomes a second job. I loved the combat and cool classes, but I just don't have time...it's a shame
Surprisingly BDO respect the time you spent on the game unlike WOW. The gains you do make are not devalued when you take a break.

@@Jeffren92 he means the gear treadmill. Every time a new expansion or major patch your bis gear becomes basically vendor trash after you do the latest dungeon/raid

Just bought the game on steam for 0.99 euro. I'm usually not a big fan of PVP, but for that price, I'm going to give it a go.
I loved wurm online/unlimited, so maybe it'll be my cup of tea after all. Time will tell when it's done installing.
But all classes can use only one (well some Imaybe two) weapon, until after "Awakening" they can use another weapon. Two weapons, that's really limited. And heck, do I want that ridiculous lance for the Valkyrie? Absolutely not. And some profession had HUGE chakram, that also looked so stupid.
That you can't use different weapons is very big minus to me. Traditionally in RPGs you can use a wide variety of different weapons.

Download GamezBD its same as BDO but its a private server and drops are like x9 times and overall game is better its not endless grinding
Not too bad. They added Narchillian gear which is better than Season gear and you get simply for getting your Naru to PEN and exchanging it. So any new player now has a chance to get to softcap without having to deal with seasons.
@@lsdzouns9656 GaezBD is trash the devs there are stuck-up always silent nerfing everything. Everything there is always WAYYY behind in terms of update. They mobs are soo much harder to kill because they have increased accuracy. Good loot never drops unless you there for HOURS. Retail has better loot than this crap of a server. Owh and also some pearl market items are only acquired through their bs website by paying real money. Their "membership" thing is a huge scam it does not give the correct amount of horse exp nor pearls per hour.. also enhancing is harder with it. Overall STAY AWAY from GaezBD.

Someone get envious of others, the one on the top leave the others behind, get arrogant, etc. If you ever heading the same situation, recall Dottz points. Hopefully can stabilize your gaming mood because it can be very annoying when your friends just flexing around and makes you wanna sprint the progress. It's not healthy. Just leave it for a while to remain your composure, the game will always there waiting for you =w=)b

Trust me you would not. Skyrim is such a fantastic game that you would be sad to see how bad this game is compared to Skyrim. Unless you want to spennd 1000 of hours to grind to get gear and waste your life away.
I feel like the number one problem with BDO is not that it cannot attract players. There is always a ton of new players. The problem is BDO cant retain players. Cause its just so easy to quit the game. Just blow up your gear. We are talking about months or years of progression gone in 5 minutes. Ofcourse you cant retain players. Any other mmo I play, I just come back to where I left off. And thats hardly the case for most BDO quiters.

The one thing I noticed is there are a lot of returning players and or noobs, personally I love bdo but I does lack group content to some degree other then PvP and doesn’t have the traditional mmorpg archetype with tank, healer, dps, and rng is in every mmo so it’s not new but the rng is heavily incorporated in most aspects of the game but good luck finding an mmo that has no rng. I recommend bdo to everyone but I think it takes more work to get to end game and players now days seem to need instant gratification, it’s a marathon not a sprint.
one of the cons of this game and also the thing that many players dont start this game or they left it after start is skill system when other games has specific button for that ability here u need to combo with keys/mouse buttons and they are all different

Their UI and controls made me tap out after 1 hour, my brother is a top 10 xbox ninja and he couldn't make me play it more than an hour, so confusing, lots of of data and options in the menu its overwhelming (sorry im a slow learner) almost no PvE, no customization besides the shop, my brother loves it but I didnt get it hope make it more accesible and user friendly oh and I hate their quest management tool so laggy and dont know what and why im doing such quests
