It would be interesting. So far, I think almost all of the projects are intended to be fun and approachable for people in the beginner to confident beginner range (and beyond) and generally be quick enough to create a sense of accomplishment. So, there doesn’t seem to be a huge variation in complexity in the majority of her existing material. On the other hand, if April were to create a new series focused on increasingly complex techniques and projects that incorporate them, that would be really helpful to people that want to grow their skills. She’d sorta become the West Coast version of Tilly Walnes. (Book deal?) Sounds great to me. Excellent suggestion!
Cool idea. 👍 ...Unless the items were from Alibaba or Wish, in which case she’d have to order at least two copies of the same garment in order for her to have enough material to make something that would fit a real human - even one April sized. 😉
This video couldn't have come out at a better time! I was just about to make some high waisted culottes and I was a bit confused about the pocket situation. The first half of the video is an absolute life saver! Thank you
@@hayleyhogan7520 my favorite beginner projects are little bags with a zipper. Or you look for free patterns which are for beginners that come with a video or text to explain what to do 😁
I thrifted 2 dresses a few months back to do jumpsuits with it and put them to the side. But watching your video gave me the motivation to get on it, awesome thanks.
I love how you sew correctly by not pulling the fabrics through the feed dog but rather guide the fabric through in front. It’s a pet peeve of mine when I see people pulling rather the guiding!! I like how you use your iron to press your seams.!👏🏻👍🏻.
Wow! I was planning to make a summer jumpsuit, with a touch of "Victorian underpinnings" style. Just a touch of lace & ribbon here & there. The other difference will be to make it with a slightly heavier cotton & maybe the color of medium purple with lilac trim! Thank you for this tutorial. Take care luv! 💐
I always go to my local triftstore and don't now how I could possibly alter a piece to my liking. Could you pleas do some kind of guide to what your looking for in a second hand piece to be good for transforming it?
In the latter close ups of the garment (especially when she sews the zipper) you can see that she serged everything, but didn't show us indeed :) I'd say always zigzag your raw seems! (also I might be using weird words because I'm not an English sewer, but a French one :p )
I loved your video, very cute, I never think of what I can do with a wide dress. But I often find over sized items and the materials are very nice. I will be on the look out for this things when the thrift stores open again. Thank You.
This is a wonderful make over. However, I would have lined the top and bottom; because, the fabric is so light. This is very cute on you. You did a beautiful job on this remake that fits you so good. Thank you. Plase stay safe.
This so neat! I am watching your creation and thinking, that it looks so easy to make. I have a dress I think I can turn into a jump suit. Actually, two. Thanks for this video! 👕👖👗👚
Thank you soooo much for posting this video!! My daughter just asked me a few days ago about transforming a dress a friend gave her into a jumpsuit so she could wear it at the beach. I told her that I thought I'd seen that you had a video about that very thing. Wish me luck as I try this out for her!!
Even though it wasn’t _really_ a “transformation”, as much as it was a great way to reuse some pretty material, this is one of my top 3 or so favorite projects April has done so far. I generally watch for inspiration and design/construction tips that I can later incorporate to my own designs, but I might try to replicate this jumpsuit more or less exactly as shown. The end result was top notch. I’m not sure if the zipper was intended to be visible or not (no invisible zipper foot), but I like the final effect that the subtle, yet visible zipper gives to this garment. Cool.
Awww this is the only video ive found to alter a dress to dungarees Ty😊. I'm just not as clever as you and i have this huge oversized dress that i wanted to change into pant legs...eeeek I'm not sure its as easy as i thought😂
Even though I didn't take up sewing- my sister to me I don't have the patience😊😊🤷♀️🤷♀️ - I found this an easy to follow tutorial and think I can actually do this👌👌
I always enjoy your videos. The only thing I would have changed on this one would be on the bodice. I would have copied the entire top as a lining, rather than just a narrow facing, since the fabric is so sheer. It looks adorable on you.
You are a source of my motivation. You are so talented. How I really wish to make some thrift flifting inspired by yours. Yeyyy! I'm from philippines and I am your number 1 fan. Thank you for inspiring me.
It would be great to have a video on how you finish off the inside of clothes! ie: linings, raw edges, rough fabric, seems, etc. I have very sensitive skin so any protruding bits or rough fabric is awful on my skin!! Have loved your videos for a long time!
I would love to know this as well! It is skimmed over by so many tutorials and I get so tired of having to use french seams on everything because I haven't seen any other way demonstrated!
I’ve been wanting to make a jumper suit for a while! Such a good video, can’t wait to have a go at making one myself. You’re such an inspiration to me starting my own channel!! 💓
Hi I've been following your channel for a while now, and would love to see your attempt at transforming a graduation robe/gown. I feel like a lot of people have these, so it would be really cool to see what we could do with them instead of just letting them sit in our closet!
Can you make the vise versa? I have a jumpsuit and i want it to be a dress..i always had a hard time to wear jumpsuit😓 i hope you notice me ms. april🙏🙏🙏 love your works 😘😘
That dress highlights why I love buying dress's with gathered skirts to thrift. You end up with heaps of usable material to make your project with. I've created a full kids costume from the usable material from one dress that cost $5 or less. Buying the fabric new would have cost $15 to $20.
Thank you for motivating me to sew more. 😊😊 I love watching all of your videos. I've probably watched each one like 5 times. I hope you do more transformations for curvy girls soon. XOXO
You should totally make a learn how to sew series where you do little projects that increase in complexity!! That would be so fun and helpful! 💕💕
I second this! I'm having so much trouble jumping between different tutorials, I would be so interested in a learning series!!

I would love that. Enjoy sewing but sometimes it is difficult!
I wish you would do a transformation on clothes you ordered online that didn’t work for you when they came.
Order from wish end up like
Cool idea. 👍 ...Unless the items were from Alibaba or Wish, in which case she’d have to order at least two copies of the same garment in order for her to have enough material to make something that would fit a real human - even one April sized. 😉
I love how you made the pockets big and deep. Women need pockets! ❤️
You would probably enjoy Morgan Donner's recent video where she added pockets to all of her clothes!
This video couldn't have come out at a better time! I was just about to make some high waisted culottes and I was a bit confused about the pocket situation. The first half of the video is an absolute life saver! Thank you
Yay! Glad it can help :)
Me too!
Have you any advice on the first thing you should sew? I have just bought a sewing machine 😁

She's remarkable! Amazing designer!
suuuper helpful, i flipped a dress with two layers (chiffon over fake satin) & made a divine jumpsuit w this guide. thank you!
I have a HUGE dress on my "gonna sew something great-pile" under my desk and I can hear it screaming at me xD "make something nice out of me!!"
I thrifted 2 dresses a few months back to do jumpsuits with it and put them to the side. But watching your video gave me the motivation to get on it, awesome thanks.
Thanks for the idea Miss . Finally my inspiration video made me up cycle my old dress.

So cute! Like the length and the waist tie is nice touch
Great idea. I like the waist tie in the front better.
I wanted to say when I'm visible, that you are so taleeeeeented and you're a source of motivation
SO...thank you
Have a nice day
Bandana R awwww thank you!!!! 🥰
@@coolirpa So happy to see you answer ! Just thank you and continue what you do ! Your're really INCREDIBLE ! :)
So cute and perfect for your silhouette!
This is an adorable design! It's perfect for the delicate flowy fabric of the thrifted dress and suits you very well.
it's a good thing you have a back up of thrifted clothes so you can keep making videos.
I loved it as a dress; but great job on the jumpsuit as well. Thanks for sharing.
This is one of my favourite transformations in awhile! It’s perfect for lounging and summer. 💐
I really enjoy watching your videos. Because of you I repurposed two items in my closet. A great public service! Thanks
Love that jumpsuit.
I love all the transformation you do...
You had alot of fabric with that dress. Wow. Great refashion. So cute on you.
So cute! I love that the color of the zipper is similar to the color of the shirt that you wore underneath it. Totally tied the two pieces together.
Wow! I was planning to make a summer jumpsuit, with a touch of "Victorian underpinnings" style. Just a touch of lace & ribbon here & there. Lots of extra fabric, lol!
An article of clothing too big for you (lots of extra fabric) and a high-quality fabric! You can't go wrong with natural fibers.
This may be one of my absolute favorite TT! Very minimal and classy. Love this style!
Great way you explained how you do the pockets. Love the transformation 😀
SUCH a cute jumpsuit
April’s hair always looks straight out of a Pantene commercial haha I cant deny I’m slightly envious
me too hahaha! she has amazing hair!
oh my gosh the color looks sooo good on you!
Thanks love!!
I like the pockets
Love that you are using up the stash of pre-thrifted clothes. I can only imagine what a pile that might be.
I love thrifting as well... happy sewing.
This looks great for summer with a pink bandeau top under it 😺
Nice video. I like watching your transformations. Thanks for posting.
Cute!!!! I love it! I love the versatility of either tying the waist part in the front or back!
Katherine Moua it looks great either way! 👍😍
That jumpsuit is 👌
The dress was quite cute but the jumpsuit is definitely more fitting! Great work!
Love it! Any tips on buying fabric online, given Corona? I don’t know how to tell the thickness, texture, stretch...
How do the inner seams on the clothes you make hold up over time/washing? I didn’t see you serge or zigzag stitch the raw edges on the inside seams.
In the latter close ups of the garment (especially when she sews the zipper) you can see that she serged everything, but didn't show us indeed :) I'd say always zigzag your raw seems! (also I might be using weird words because I'm not an English sewer, but a French one :p )

You're so talented April; you should be an instructor. You make things look so easy!
I'm not crazy about gingham but this is really cute. I always look like I'm wearing a picnic table cloth
