I converted to Catholicism 2 years ago. Mostly because I wanted to go to Church and I had never been comfortable in a Protestant church even though I believed in God and had read the bible from a young age. Somehow I stumbled across the Latin Mass in my city and I knew I had found the type of reverend worship I had been looking for. Our Archbishop removed a dedicated and holy priest from our church early this year who he saw as troublesome. That and the incremental restrictions on the TLM have been disheartening to say the least.. I recently made the mistake of going to confession outside my TLM church which is the only place I have made confessions since being baptised, and the only place I felt comfortable making confessions. I had not been to confession for 6 weeks and decided to do it at the local NO. I was shocked when the priest told me that they try to discourage people from making confessions until at least 3 months have passed so that parishioners can work on amending their sins. I will never make another confession at this church and it confirmed my gut instinct to make all my confessions( bar that one time) at my TLM church. Banning the TLM would be a travesty and the most hurtful thing Pope Francis could do to faithful Catholics who wish to celebrate the liturgy in the old rite.
I feel bad. As far as giving worship to God, the TLM is to me what I'd searched for all my life. I was 57 when I discovered and attended my very first diocesan TLM in 2019. And now it appears the Pope wants to take it from me. Very troubling.

SSPX, ICKSP and Byzantine are all within a somewhat reasonable drive for me. My first choice is ICKSP. I must admit though that I find the crowd intimidating and I fear that I'm not up to snuff and that my defenses will go up and will interfere with my ability to pray and focus. This is all kinda heart breaking and exhausting. I'm quite comfortable where I am. Trying not to let this get me too angry or to despair.
Well, the SSPX will still continue to say the Latin Tridentine Mass, and Bergoglio AKA Pope Francis better repent to God because the Novus Ordo is not the true mass.

I attend a diocesan tlm half an hour away. I'm a tenant farmer and pretty much broke, so not able to move. I don't even own a car, my only vehicles are commercial 5 ton trucks one is 25 years old and other is 60 years old, and the closest sspx place is like a 6 hour round trip on the other side of Toronto past like 4 MTO (DOT) inspection scales. which I'm required to stop at if they are open. I left the NO world in 2013 for an Ordinariate parish, then ended up drifting away and just resumed last year active practice of my faith at the tlm. Now what...?
Our TLM moved offsite to a catholic cemetery. The only secret part is the church can't advertise its happening bc that restriction is in Traditionus Custodus. I probably spelled it wrong.

But we have an SSPX in the city so that negates the need but rather nice of him to tear a communities apart and make them fall out with each other over it. Very pastoral of him.
Thank you, Nick. Some of us have been crying in the vast wilderness for 40 years with no traditional liturgy in our reach, western or eastern. We have nonetheless been able to increase our faith via study of the Bible, the Catechism of Trent, the rosary and Divinum Officium.
Actually the TLM developed in the early Middle Ages. The earliest liturgy was that of St James. The liturgies of St Basil and St John Chrysostom are close.
I am blessed to have found you. I am 75 in an area of the US where, once my one TLM gets cancelled I have no option. I am alone, have health issues, limited retirement. Not everyone cab move, maybe they shouldn't , maybe we need to stay to preserve the faith locally. Look at places like Japan, Ireland. I have increased my prayers and penances and more and more sense, that this is a preparation for martyrdom. I might have to go to the best NO I can find without Holy Communion and pray the trad, Mess offering it to God with tears, because this is all I can do. It can also be a perfect occasion for instructing the ignorant, of being a witness. In my case it is twice as bad, because the US is not my native country - the earth is truly my place of exile, I long to go home.
You mentioned moving closer to an SSPX Chapel - but not FSSP or ICKS ? What are the chances that the Fraternity and Institute will be allowed to add apostolates ? And - do you think any Bishops will ignore this dictate ?
So much division within the church. I attend the NO but love the Tridentine with the SSPX and attend more of the Latin. I’m about to move to another city and was disappointed not to see an SSPX chapel in that area. Rather sad we have to endure these times, I guess that’s our cross. Keep praying.

Bad priests are not Gods judgement and wrath. They come from free will. We have free will. God Won't interfere with that. When people ask "Why would God allow such and such evil to occur"? It's because of free will. If God stopped man from committing evil them we don't have free will. WE have to stop people from committing evil. We do not have to allow it. We can act. We need to stop these things. God can help but we have to do the work. God won't do it for us. The Church has been infiltrated by corruption. And not just the Catholic Church. Other churches and religions have been corrupted too. The bad priests are corrupted. And all this stems from people choosing to do evil. Evil is the easy path.

Yes if I’m not mistaken, in the TLM, you have to at least be a deacon to proclaim the Gospel (I’ve only seen it done in Holy Week so I don’t know off the top of my head).

Those aren’t available everywhere I think there’s a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, where I live, but I think they only have their liturgy one Sunday a month so I’m blessed to have the FSSP. Driving to Saint Marys, Kansas, where the SSPX have the Immaculata is not possible (I don’t drive and it’s three hours one-way. Moving is not possible because all my family, including those who drive me places, for the most part, live in Nebraska)
@@elizabethv_royalsfanthe TLM isn't readily available as well. Where I live, the closest FSSP mass is 4 1/2 hours away. The SSPX is roughly 3 hours away. The closest diocesan TLM is only on Fridays and close to 2 hours away. So unfortunately we are stuck with only the NO.

In which case, if by some odd grace, you have a very conservative novus ordo and a priest who knows, practices, teaches, the true faith, remain and support. So get clean, do charity, hard charity, real charity, don’t escatimate, just do it.
I’m not able to understand some of your words. What’s “soverb” and “escatimate”? But if people fight, you just don’t participate. Arrive, hear Mass, receive the Sacraments, leave. You’re there to see Our Lord, not socialize with people who lack charity. If someone tries to draw you into a fight, be forthright in saying politely, but with decisiveness, you’ll not be socializing, but praying. Walk quickly away to a pew or out the door to leave.

Didn’t Paul change everything from the original apostles just a few years after the death of Christ? Talking about the Jewish rules and the Gentiles. The Paul that did not know Jesus in person. Also he came into conflict with the other original apostles at the “incident in Antioch” ,over how the church was to approach old Jewish law and if the gentiles needed to follow them. He also used to persecute Christian’s so I think Christ had to die before, so that Christians did exist for him to persecute. Didn’t Jesus himself say he was not here to change the law but to fulfill it? Paul later says Jesus told him in a vision the opposite. Please let me know if I got it wrong.

@@mpkropf5062 If you impose obligations to attend liturgy people then you yourself have obligations to provide a worthy liturgy that follow the rules for celebration of that liturgy. The initial failure is the clergy's. They have broken the contract. The laity are implicitly released from the obligation. It is not good for people to come out of Mass feeing angry due to the liturgical abuse that is so widespread as to be almost universal. I have attended Masses where I had to check the notice board to be sure that it was not a Protestant church - that was in Germany. Things are not much better in other countries. Can you please quote chapter and verse regarding SSPX?
@@physiocrat7143 You can find it in your own research. The Church has said that the SSPX doesn’t qualify as it’s not in full communion with the Catholic Church. However, Pope Francis did approve Confessions through them but not the Eucharist. If people walk away from Mass angry they have a serious heart problem and don’t believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Mass! Mass is a great blessing and so is the Liturgy! There aren’t signs hung it’s Catholic or Protestant! Lol But when you walk into a Sanctuary you can easily see when it’s a Catholic Church! One thing I notice on a lot of TLM’s they have real heart issues for instance how they receive the Eucharist which is one of the reasons the Vatican 2 was needed but they don’t know that it was given in the hands in the very beginning and Jesus didn’t give it in the mouth! However, either way can be given and Jesus does care more about the heart than the outward appearance of how it’s taken! I can definitely see the TLM breaking away from the True Catholic and Apostolic Church and appear to be a cult.

At a local level the practical solution for many would be to find an Eastern Orthodox or Greek Catholic parish. If SSPX can’t be found, it’s hello to SSPV, or MCRI, various independent priests (be careful with this one.) If the Church calling itself Catholic, isn’t, then I don’t go. Stay home. Pray the missal. Practice those aspects of the Faith you CAN practice. That which you cannot, don’t worry about it. God does not require the impossible. Find, if possible, small groups with which to pray and support one another. If these are not available, go it alone. If you can move, do so. If not possible, again, don’t give up. Do what you can and carry on. (I did it for nearly three years during the c-sickness, the Trad Loan Ranger.)

May I suggest you read online the Apostolic Constitution "QUO PRIMUM" of POPE SAINT PIUS FIFTH issued 1570 and Council of TRENT Session 7 . Canon 13. TRENT is Dogmatic Council and all Catholics must believe findings of this Council under pain of Mortal Sin. 🙏
Before NO, a Catholic could go to Mass anywhere and participate because the language, Hymns, and sacraments were all essentially the sane. After NO different churches made their own adaptations. Some priests became "modern" and even led laity astray. Much of the 'holiness' was removed from the Mass. Most eliminated the Saint Michael Prayer, etcetera. Find a 1962 Mass Missal and Read through it while comparing its Mass to the NO.

I converted to Catholicism 2 years ago. Mostly because I wanted to go to Church and I had never been comfortable in a Protestant church even though I believed in God and had read the bible from a young age. Somehow I stumbled across the Latin Mass in my city and I knew I had found the type of reverend worship I had been looking for. Our Archbishop removed a dedicated and holy priest from our church early this year who he saw as troublesome. That and the incremental restrictions on the TLM have been disheartening to say the least.. I recently made the mistake of going to confession outside my TLM church which is the only place I have made confessions since being baptised, and the only place I felt comfortable making confessions. I had not been to confession for 6 weeks and decided to do it at the local NO. I was shocked when the priest told me that they try to discourage people from making confessions until at least 3 months have passed so that parishioners can work on amending their sins. I will never make another confession at this church and it confirmed my gut instinct to make all my confessions( bar that one time) at my TLM church. Banning the TLM would be a travesty and the most hurtful thing Pope Francis could do to faithful Catholics who wish to celebrate the liturgy in the old rite.

I feel bad. As far as giving worship to God, the TLM is to me what I'd searched for all my life. I was 57 when I discovered and attended my very first diocesan TLM in 2019. And now it appears the Pope wants to take it from me. Very troubling.

SSPX, ICKSP and Byzantine are all within a somewhat reasonable drive for me. My first choice is ICKSP. I must admit though that I find the crowd intimidating and I fear that I'm not up to snuff and that my defenses will go up and will interfere with my ability to pray and focus. This is all kinda heart breaking and exhausting. I'm quite comfortable where I am. Trying not to let this get me too angry or to despair.

I attend a diocesan tlm half an hour away. I'm a tenant farmer and pretty much broke, so not able to move. I don't even own a car, my only vehicles are commercial 5 ton trucks one is 25 years old and other is 60 years old, and the closest sspx place is like a 6 hour round trip on the other side of Toronto past like 4 MTO (DOT) inspection scales. which I'm required to stop at if they are open. I left the NO world in 2013 for an Ordinariate parish, then ended up drifting away and just resumed last year active practice of my faith at the tlm. Now what...?

Our TLM moved offsite to a catholic cemetery. The only secret part is the church can't advertise its happening bc that restriction is in Traditionus Custodus. I probably spelled it wrong.

But we have an SSPX in the city so that negates the need but rather nice of him to tear a communities apart and make them fall out with each other over it. Very pastoral of him.
Thank you, Nick. Some of us have been crying in the vast wilderness for 40 years with no traditional liturgy in our reach, western or eastern. We have nonetheless been able to increase our faith via study of the Bible, the Catechism of Trent, the rosary and Divinum Officium.

Actually the TLM developed in the early Middle Ages. The earliest liturgy was that of St James. The liturgies of St Basil and St John Chrysostom are close.
I am blessed to have found you. I am 75 in an area of the US where, once my one TLM gets cancelled I have no option. I am alone, have health issues, limited retirement. Not everyone cab move, maybe they shouldn't , maybe we need to stay to preserve the faith locally. Look at places like Japan, Ireland. I have increased my prayers and penances and more and more sense, that this is a preparation for martyrdom. I might have to go to the best NO I can find without Holy Communion and pray the trad, Mess offering it to God with tears, because this is all I can do. It can also be a perfect occasion for instructing the ignorant, of being a witness. In my case it is twice as bad, because the US is not my native country - the earth is truly my place of exile, I long to go home.

Bad priests are not Gods judgement and wrath. They come from free will. We have free will. God Won't interfere with that. When people ask "Why would God allow such and such evil to occur"? It's because of free will. If God stopped man from committing evil them we don't have free will. WE have to stop people from committing evil. We do not have to allow it. We can act. We need to stop these things. God can help but we have to do the work. God won't do it for us.

Yes if I’m not mistaken, in the TLM, you have to at least be a deacon to proclaim the Gospel (I’ve only seen it done in Holy Week so I don’t know off the top of my head).

We have eastern rites, Byzantine, etc.
Those aren’t available everywhere I think there’s a Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church, where I live, but I think they only have their liturgy one Sunday a month so I’m blessed to have the FSSP. Driving to Saint Marys, Kansas, where the SSPX have the Immaculata is not possible (I don’t drive and it’s three hours one-way. Moving is not possible because all my family, including those who drive me places, for the most part, live in Nebraska)
@@elizabethv_royalsfanthe TLM isn't readily available as well. Where I live, the closest FSSP mass is 4 1/2 hours away. The SSPX is roughly 3 hours away. The closest diocesan TLM is only on Fridays and close to 2 hours away. So unfortunately we are stuck with only the NO.

Also he came into conflict with the other original apostles at the “incident in Antioch” ,over how the church was to approach old Jewish law and if the gentiles needed to follow them. He also used to persecute Christian’s so I think Christ had to die before, so that Christians did exist for him to persecute. He was not an original apostle and he seemed to change what the original apostles started with, regarding their approach to Jewish law. Didn’t Jesus himself say he was not here to change the law but to fulfill it? Paul later says Jesus told him in a vision the opposite. Please let me know if I got it wrong.

If you impose obligations to attend liturgy people then you yourself have obligations to provide a worthy liturgy that follow the rules for celebration of that liturgy. The initial failure is the clergy's. They have broken the contract.
The laity are implicitly released from the obligation. It is not good for people to come out of Mass feeing angry due to the liturgical abuse that is so widespread as to be almost universal.
I have attended Masses where I had to check the notice board to be sure that it was not a Protestant church - that was in Germany. Things are not much better in other countries.

@@physiocrat7143 You can find it in your own research. The Church has said that the SSPX doesn’t qualify as it’s not in full communion with the Catholic Church. However, Pope Francis did approve Confessions through them but not the Eucharist. If people walk away from Mass angry they have a serious heart problem and don’t believe in the Real Presence of Jesus in the Mass! Mass is a great blessing and so is the Liturgy! There aren’t signs hung it’s Catholic or Protestant! Lol But when you walk into a Sanctuary you can easily see when it’s a Catholic Church! One thing I notice on a lot of TLM’s they have real heart issues for instance how they receive the Eucharist which is one of the reasons the Vatican 2 was needed but they don’t know that it was given in the hands in the very beginning and Jesus didn’t give it in the mouth! However, either way can be given and Jesus does care more about the heart than the outward appearance of how it’s taken! I can definitely see the TLM breaking away from the True Catholic and Apostolic Church and appear to be a cult.

The Tridentine Mass was universal. You could attend Mass anywhere in the world and not understand the liturgy.

The Catholic Church was Catholic before 1054 and has remained Catholic! I never heard such a insane statement that they broke away from Protestants! At a local level the practical solution for many would be to find an Eastern Orthodox or Greek Catholic parish. However, the Eastern rites are also under attack; they may be on borrowed time, which leaves the EO.

If SSPX can’t be found, it’s hello to SSPV, or MCRI, various independent priests (be careful with this one.) If the Church calling itself Catholic, isn’t, then I don’t go. Stay home. Pray the missal. Practice those aspects of the Faith you CAN practice. That which you cannot, don’t worry about it. God does not require the impossible. Please, it' is beautiful, but for the sake of unity, it is not necessary. I would not be so harsh if I had not seen so many say "Latin mass or im out". If you hold it that high up, then you have crossed a line.

May I suggest you read online the Apostolic Constitution "QUO PRIMUM" of POPE SAINT PIUS FIFTH issued 1570 and Council of TRENT Session 7 . Canon 13.
TRENT is Dogmatic Council and all Catholics must believe findings of this Council under pain of Mortal Sin. 🙏
The problem is not the Latin language as such.
Before NO, a Catholic could go to Mass anywhere and participate because the language, Hymns, and sacraments were all essentially the sane. After NO different churches made their own adaptations. Some priests became "modern" and even led laity astray. Much of the 'holiness' was removed from the Mass. Most eliminated the Saint Michael Prayer, etcetera.

Not true! Every NO in my area is always packed on Saturday night and Sunday morning!! Trads want to think it is but many Catholics will actually believe that we must obey the Papacy, The Pope, The Magisterium including the Vatican 2!!
