Home audio at it's best.......had it all sport fans, pioneer elite, Sony Es, Onkyo, Denon, Yamaha...........etc. not only built like tanks but beautiful works of art..........we used to look to the future for better products........now we look to the past for quality that was. It just don't make a lick a sense...........do it ?

It's just very expensive. It's definitely not the golden age of audio anymore in terms of accessibility and affordability.

If I could talk to God and have him transport me back to 1983, I will be in heaven. I'd be in Japan, Yokota Air Base, buying all these great Sony ES items and never let them go. I had the ES amp, forgot what model, a tuner, turntable and a pair of APM-11ES (also knows as 22 ES) speakers. These were the best sounding speakers at the time, right along with ARs. I am so disappointed in what is offered today in 2022. The 80s were some of the best years for HiFi. BTW, what beautiful setup.
Beautiful HI-FI System, that sound era was one of the best, a perfect digital combination, CD's were the best ally. I love its look, it seems a Boening Aircraft panel. Nowadays the HI-FI doesn't exist anymore because many people prefer small portable components. However, for every taste, there has a choice, but I can bet if you want something like this you must to pay for it a huge amount of money....(BUT ONE THING IS TRUE... GOOD THINGS ARE WORTH PAYING FOR THEM) obviously, first of all, you will get to find something like this (on E-bay maybe) hopefully in good conditions, You have been so lucky keeping something like this in that conditions, a good friend of mine had one in early days, once time the ceiling of his home had a big hole and here in my country during the winter there has a lot of rain, the rainwater started to enter inside of his room and the Majestic Dynapower it got wet, when he turned on the Dyna he realized the left channel was not working, back in the days in my country, there was not a qualified hand to repair so the conclusion of this sad story was that since that day (November 19th - 1998) his powerful sound system stopped to give us happiness.... NO MUSIC NO LIFE. KEEP IN GOOD CONDITIONS YOUR HI-FI MASTERPIECE.... PLEASE!!!! PLAY ONLY GOOD MUSIC... WITH POWER AND DELICATE LOUD SOUND MARIO

I was always so impressed with stuff like this, I wish I had a time machine and go back now as an adult! They closed their doors permanently a few years back 😢. I now rock a Pioneer Elite VSX-LX504 with Andrew Jones speakers in a 9.1(2 subs).4 set up. My two hammers are HSU ULS-15 mk2 subs love these things for both music and movies tight fast and just brought everything to the next level. I wouldn't call my system a true hifi set up, but its a budget one and it really impressive for what it is and what I spent. Ill go to separated at some point. One day Id love to build something cool like this too or maybe even integrate some vintage equipment into my set up! I hope Pioneer gets back to making things in Japan again.
Magnificent, I had the sony ES series, the DAT 55 and sony CD 339 and CD 333, they were refined very heavy, I thought more than once to take the pre and power amp, but I had an Onkyo Integra as a pre and power amp, all the seire has a fabulous impact, seen live even more.
Congratulations on maintaining such a special team. I have a Sony TA-313 with APM-77W speakers, 100W very well built. Just those two things, spectacular home theater, very powerful and clear sound. SONY IS ✨
Got just about everything you have in your video, with the exception of the second component to the bottom. I also have two of its main power amps and the hard to find four channel, with the mains running through the Bose 901's with EQ. Sadly thought all this classic equipment is sitting in boxes, because once I moved into my new home there wasn't enough area to sit everything up properly and running all those amps will definitely take a bite paying your electric bill. Now, I just using an all in one Sony STR Z5000. Someday when I'm about a zillion years old, somebody is gonna get the deal of the century along with my high performance Trans-Am that I also don't play with anymore either.

I had a friend that had a DAT player from this ES series with the wood sides. He swore up and down that his CDs sounded better when ran through the DAT..

No doubt Es were great outstanding products. But all the buttons and wheels and night glow where just too much for me so I went on to the harman last dicsrets hk6950R/hd7725 and am happy since. Just fits my taste of listening and never cared for deep bottom end supply but for next neighbour 250m away 😀 Finding the speakers capable to take the full range of this jnit was quite tricky. The amp can handle anything down to 2 Ohms but when it throws base levels you really need some bigger ones. Took the JBL hp570 and found what I will use till death.
i wander how much it would cost to buy this hole rig? i have a vintage sony 1070x it was made in the 1990s era. i wander which one would sound the greatest your amplifier plugged up or the 1070x plugged up to this rig i wish that some one would do a sound test to compare both sounds in the video plugged up to the right speakers that will sound great for both the receivers

Please, help!!!!! How to adjust the level of the digital input signal in decibels. This is below the bottom cover on the left of the Input level further down the Digital + - and the plus minus to adjust. Standing on - 10 decibels. but the sound is quiet with the use of a pen to add, then the unit is very hot. It scares me. How much should be the value for his safe work, what would it be easy for him. Those were the days! I still have my APM-22ES. Nothing compares to it. People keep asking me where I got these magnificent speakers from.

Sony ES was sold as separate components. You had to choose your speakers and components after your own wallet.

All ta-e1000es are hot. That's normal. Adjust the digital level as high as you can, until the light flashes. Then press - until it does not flash.
