As a New Yorker who always thinks of Seoul as a little like the city I grew up in with its layers of co-existing past, present and potential future, this moved me a great deal. I worked in Soho when it was only industrial lofts and a true neighborhood. Now it’s all gone. The writing of this documentary and Yesung’s gentle, loving narration are beautiful. It’s my first look at the series but I will watch them all. I would ask it if you could please share with Yesung that somebody needs to document the history of modern Korean music in hard form - a book, a physical collection, a film that will not be written over . The future is always relentless in its attempts to walk over the past that made it possible. And people with power like to tell a story that makes them look good. Now that so much is digital the risk of losing facts, losing history is greater than ever. Stone markers, buildings, the studio of the artisan amplifier, his words, they don’t lie. Could Yesung be the man to support such a project? Could you? I think so.
When Scented Things came on, I couldn't believe how much the introduction of the song suited the vibe of the entire scene that was shot - with oppa and the city through the window. It was like travelling through time with his music. The feeling was so magical and it transported me back to those vintage times. That scene hit me so hard and I was so glad the footage lingered a little longer there. Thank you for this wonderful episode again!
Wow! This episode was not only done wonderfully, but also meaningfully. Yesung indeed is a very deep person. Been a fan for many years, yet still cannot fathom how well rounded and unique his personality. I admire how he presents himself as a celebrity, an artist and simply just Kim Kang Hoon.
Yesung brings out the beauty of each place he takes us. Listening to his experiences and feelings towards the place brings out the true meaning of the location.
How beautiful it's to know a little more about every corner that is hidden in Seoul. To think that those places that at some point had a boom and an important impact and now are feared because they could disappear.. Modernity in any city causes these places to be forgotten, I wish we could value them a little more and continue supporting these businesses. Thank you so much to 예성 오빠 for always showing us incredible places💕 Thanks to Yessay & K-Heritage for always working hard
Great video! Great to see the ruins of an old government building, the marker stones, and the long term investment that was made by the man who builds electronics from scratch. Hearing the vinyls played through the handcrafted speaker and the setting of the workshop made it have such a nostalgic feel. I really appreciate that in this fast paced, throw-away society, there are still a few people who take time to appreciate things of the past. You just don't want to wait until something is gone before you (finally) see value in something. Thank you, Yesung, for your continued investment of your time and your heart in these heritage projects. The very detailed English captions are also highly appreciated!
South Korea is really treasure their heritage. These buildings still look clean and well maintenance. It’s always a pleasure to see people who appreciate old things.💙
I love seeing how times have changed, it's good to see the past because it fills us with nostalgia. Seeing how you bring the past together with the present is gratifying.
Thank you for travelling with us through the time machine of Euljiro Sewoon Plaza! The plaza is literally a hidden gem of Seoul that has survived through Covid19, financial crisis and etc. Many thanks to Mr. Yesung and the Yessay Team. I truly enjoy your vlog and wish to be directly involved in the filming process someday.
Oh my goodness, where to begin. Yesung, you are an old soul, and that is what I love most about the journey you take us on with each new adventure. When I started planning my trip to S Korea, a few years ago, it was specifically to see a side of history I’ve only read about. I find no greater joy than being able to experience something on a historical level and why my trip in April 2025 is so important to me. Through this channel I’ve had the opportunity to communicate, in comments, with people who have given me wonderful information on what to look for & notice. While I wish you could walk with me on my adventure, next spring, I know it is not a possibility, but on a positive note I can walk & see the journeys you have taken us on, and through memory I can say I did it too. My grandmother and mother were story tellers, I gained this gift from them as there is a story for everything. We remember best when we can associate with something. While I do not look it, but I’m a bit older. Through experiences & different times I have gained so much. While I love history I’m also a lover of music, there is so much to be said about both. The memories I will leave behind will have some of the best stories & that is how we live in the memory of others. Like my grandmother and mother I will pass down what I learned from them, but also my own story. Thank you for taking us along with you again & thank you to team Yessay. ❤
Thank you, Yesung oppa, and K-Heritage channel, for taking us on a poetic journey through the historic alleyways of Euljiro and the lively expanse of Sewoon Plaza. With each methodical step, this vlog peels back layers of Seoul's cultural tapestry, revealing the delicate threads that connect tradition and innovation in this vibrant meeting place. While watching Yesung oppa walk through Euljiro and Sewoon Plaza, where the essence of heritage mingles with the pulse of urban life, the message rings true: that in the midst of time, the threads of tradition must be delicately woven into the fabric of tomorrow, ensuring that Seoul's rich tapestry endures through the ages.
I can seriously hear yesung's voice all day. My heart got warm just by listening to his soothing voice. Thank you K-Heritage for all of these collaborations! Looking forward to more content with yesung^^
Euljiro is an area that can take you to the future but also to the past, the combination is interesting and makes me want to visit it. I like the relaxed aesthetic and each place has its charm. Thanks to Korean heritage and Yessay for sharing this experience♥️✨
💙💙Hello from Mexico, 🇲🇽 Thanks to your videos I can learn a little more of South Korea, its art, its culture, its amazing places, keep collaborating with Yesung and his YESSAY team 💙💙💙💙
It's so fascinating and fun to see the other side of South Korea aside from their pop culture. It is also nice to know and see that the old tradition from Euljiro Sewoon Plaza is still standing and existing in the midst of South Korea's modern city. I am just watching but hearing the sound quality that came from the vintage turntable made me envious and jealous. I also want to hear it live. Nowadays, we can easily access music through different music platforms but listening to a vintage turntable is such a delightful experience. It's amazing how the Koreans preserved these places and culture. Years and generations may have passed but the stories, history, and legacy of those who built and continue the culture and tradition transcends in every generation. Thank you K-Heritage and Yessay for always delighting your viewers with quality, meaningful, and fun content. Can't wait for your next collaboration.
I think it is very important to raise awareness about the topic that Yesung talks about. The world moves faster and faster and sometimes we don't stop to appreciate hidden treasures. I believe that there are places that, just as they are, have a wonderful and unique essence that completely absorbs us with their magic. It is very moving to see how Yesung connects with these traditional places. It is definitely a very emotional video that through feelings makes you think about the subject and how life has changed...
I think i understand your sentiment about vintage things. It has the memory and glory of the past but at the same time it also has heritage and something that pushes people to create better and more advanced than the predecessor. This a good episode, you filming this now maybe when this place is gone 100 years later, the next generation still have this video as documentary
It's fun to see how things from the past still survive and become part of modernization today In the current era, people talk about what new things they can have, like new gadgets, new vehicles, and so on for today's existence, whereas what we see in this video is proof that existence is not always what happens today, but what can be survives is what has quality impact and what makes it have memorable for a long time, it would be great to remain a part of the past that still exists among people who are still searching for existence itself fight for K Heritage and Yesung who have presented this side of South Korea, hopefully I can be a part of it ❤️
Yesung is very good at directing such a program, which improves the quality of the program, and the editing is also very exquisite, so that foreigners can learn more about the beauty of Korea.
The sights and stories of the old and new in Korea were new to me as I live in another country. Buildings and cityscapes where one can feel the breath of the people. nostalgic scent or sound we can feel in daily lives. It may be difficult to protect such things for a long time. But I think like this program, to capture them on video and send them out lead to raise an issue and to transmit them to our memories deeply. Once again, I thought this program was precious and wonderful.
South Korea is a country with a lovely and interesting culture which attracts foreigners due to the diversity it has. It is very great that K-Heritage Channel helps us to understand better some traditions as well as shows charm places. This motivates people to visit a beautiful country, South Korea❤
I love the content shown in the episodes. I'm interested in learning about cultural heritage through the unique and peculiar perspective that Yesung offers us. I hope his songs also become cultural heritage in the future.
I must include Euljiro to my next trip to Seoul! I really like the culture, lifestyle in the days between “traditional” and “modern”, I will love Euljiro when I go there🥰
I looooove the scene where Scented Things was played. The peacefulness, the warmth, and the softness of Yesung oppa's voice got me close my eyes and relax. Seems like I want to rewatch the scene more and more..
I wish there were things that last forever 😢 But as life goes on, there are things disappearing from daily life. I hope to keep in my memory the beautiful ones 🤗
i love how i watch and discover different places like these in Korea. Unlike the usual places we see from someone like me. Mermaid and Scented things was played on this video. So nice to hear. ❤
It's true, sometimes modernization slowly eliminates things that existed before. Thank you Kheritage, through Yesung and this channel I can see another side of Korea. Ps. His voice is so soothing and comforting
This is a wonderful series, I hope it continues long into the future! The soothing voice and the fascinating locations really make these a pleasure to watch!

Mr. Jae Yong Ryu is amazing. Watching that moment was very moving. Thanks to the efforts of great men who built the foundations for our present.
I can seriously hear yesung's voice all day. My heart got warm just by listening to his soothing voice. Thank you K-Heritage for all of these collaborations! Looking forward to more content with yesung^^
One day, I’ll visit Korea, and visit every place that you recommend ❤ thank you Yesung oppa
Yesung has an unique personality indeed , sentimental and old vibe . Thank you Korean Heritage for having this tour for us fans.
Euljiro is an area that can take you to the future but also to the past, the combination is interesting and makes me want to visit it. I like the relaxed aesthetic and each place has its charm. Thanks to Korean heritage and Yessay for sharing this experience♥️✨
Crazy Yesung, the whole vibes suit him so well💙💙thank you for the collaboration! I love to see Yesung to guide us on tour💙💙💙💙
always love yesung with his aesthetic vibes❤
Yesung
💙💙Hello from Mexico, 🇲🇽 Thanks to your videos I can learn a little more of South Korea, its art, its culture, its amazing places, keep collaborating with Yesung and his YESSAY team 💙💙💙💙
This building looks like the scene from Song Joong-ki's "Vincenzo," right?
Thanks Yesung Oppa for letting us know more about Korean culture.🤩
It has the memory and glory of the past but at the same time it also has heritage and something that pushes people to create better and more advanced than the
predecessor. This a good episode, you filming this now maybe when this place is gone 100 years later, the next generation still have this video as documentary
Muchas gracias!💙
I loved watching this! It's really nice for me to see some good culture content on youtube! And then with yesung too! 🦊☺️
It's fun to see how things from the past still survive and become part of modernization today
In the current era, people talk about what new things they can have, like new gadgets, new vehicles, and so on for today's existence,
whereas what we see in this video is proof that existence is not always what happens today, but what can be survives is what has quality impact and what makes it have memorable for a long time,
it would be great to remain a part of the past that still exists among people who are still searching for existence itself
fight for K Heritage and Yesung who have presented this side of South Korea, hopefully I can be a part of it ❤️
Totally Agree, it was remind me with exist thing before that still exist now
Finally there is another comment not talk about how handsome he was, but the video means ❤❤❤❤
Wao nice comment, this is 100% True
Good comment
Yesung's voice is so soothing
Yesung is very good at directing such a program, which improves the quality of the program, and the editing is also very exquisite, so that foreigners can learn more about the beauty of Korea.
Yesung ❤.. Excelente guía de turismo.
Beautiful view with a beautiful music, that's perfect combination 😍
I love the content shown in the episodes. I'm interested in learning about cultural heritage through the unique and peculiar perspective that Yesung offers us. I hope his songs also become cultural heritage in the future.
I must include Euljiro to my next trip to Seoul! I really like the culture, lifestyle in the days between “traditional” and “modern”, I will love Euljiro when I go there🥰
I'm so touched by 할아버지's words
I looooove the scene where Scented Things was played. The peacefulness, the warmth, and the softness of Yesung oppa's voice got me close my eyes and relax. Seems like I want to rewatch the scene more and more..
Your face is naturally beautiful, and even when the sun's rays reflect on you, there is some magic 🌸
I wish there were things that last forever 😢
But as life goes on, there are things disappearing from daily life. I hope to keep in my memory the beautiful ones 🤗
i love how i watch and discover different places like these in Korea. Unlike the usual places we see from someone like me. Mermaid and Scented things was played on this video. So nice to hear. ❤
I'm watching here again, bcs Yessay just will update tonight ^
It's true, sometimes modernization slowly eliminates things that existed before. Thank you Kheritage, through Yesung and this channel I can see another side of Korea.
Ps. His voice is so soothing and comforting
This is a wonderful series, I hope it continues long into the future! The soothing voice and the fascinating locations really make these a pleasure to watch!
