Nike doesn't even make their best AG soleplate anymore. The best one they had was the one on the Tiempo 9's and the Vapor 14's. I wont buy another another AG pair of boots until Nike brings that soleplate back.

However, NIKE basically never listen to Chinese customer's voice and their boots are easily damaged on AG pitches.

As far as I can tell that is the surface most people play on, hence it should be reviewed the most but it always seems to be left out. Also it sucks they didn't keep the external heel counter, really affects the design. How does the boot feel to actually play? Does the extra weight feel like a hindrance at all?

@@trundibar nothing to do with the boots mate, you should try and strengthen your ankles up, loads of exercises on UA-cam. That’s a start mate it’s nothing to do with the boots, that’s the problem people jump straight on the boots rather than the actual problem, hope this helps!

@@trundibar well there you go being 45 years old says it all, you naturally will have worse ankles especially if you’ve been playing football for 40 years! Also strengthening your ankles and knees can still be achieved at your age, as a coach myself I see this very often. Regarding the boots they are absolutely fine for AG, the studs are not long and the shape is fine rounded triangles are good, when I wear them I can pivot and turn no differently that when I wear any of my other AG boots like the phantoms.
@@Azimo8989 Looks like i ran into my team doctor. My ankle and knee problems started in my late twenties. In my case, it's not about age in any way, but about poorly chosen football boots for the wrong terrain. And this is something that I consult with our team physiotherapist and doctor. By no means do I wish that on you, but one day you might find out too. Let's hope not.
don't forget that the artificial grass also matters, some are shorter than others and wearing studs feels like heels currently dealing with that on my morelia fg
I've got the 2G/3G as I played purely on poorly maintained 3G pitches. The traction is sufficient most of the time but I haven't tried in wet weather yet, the studs are not as short as the Puma MG.
Whilst the 4g ag version might seem similar to the FG versions there is a world of difference when actually using them I found when playing on 3g surfaces. With the FG I found there was way too much friction and my feet were always dragging. I tried the 4g version with the copa pure 2 and they were completely fine: No dragging, no noticeable stud pressure and very light and nimble. I also have the 2g/3g version and tbh I wish I could send them back. They're great for very wide feet, and there's no stud pressure at all, but they do feel bigger and clunkier. Maybe it's a placebo effect from Jay Mikes reviews who hates them.

Also returning a pair where the upper tore near the left toe and one of the stripes began to peel off. Adidas said they cover the warranty but no chance on replacing it for the same color sadly.

I have Tiempo Legend 9 Elite AG, Premier 3 Turf and Mizuno Morelia II Japan. Do you think the FG version would be really risky or is it manageable if used in rotation with the above mentioned boots.

I say wear FG boots when it’s dry and the pitch isn’t too slippery. Especially in the region where I’m staying since we do have rainy seasons I always keep my Sg boots in the bag In countries like you’re staying,think FG might be just a backup
I am still mad that Adidas is not releasing any other colorway options for AG version. This is genuinely the reason why I stopped buying predators and moved on to Nike
@@themanmiles95 went with 2G/3G. Like Josh stated, can feel the weight on it... but I'm not a crazy fast runner, so didn't make much difference on the weight. Toe area and fit is a bit different from FS, so don't expect it's exact same.
You would be more likely to slip with the 2G/3G pattern compared to the normal AG one, but generally it’s not an issue that I’ve experienced with AG stud patterns like this
Heres my previous gen steer - loved the Mutator Ag Boots, BUT the 4 stud heal was so aggressive i had pains in my back the day after playing 4g rubber indoors. They are too long and only 4 doesnt spread the pressure.
Those are too shallow and fit terrible to be honest. The upper doesn't feel like the Elite as well, got them and returned the second I tried them on. Avoid if you can.

I play only on ag surfaces and the outdoor pitch we use is a good quality soft surface, however, the indoor turf, even though it looks almost identical as the outdoor one, feels little harder, and the Puma Future Pros MG sole plate feels a bit soft and not very supportive. Should i buy the 2g/3g or TR model that is $100 cheaper? I do have to say that i enjoy plying in lighter boots... thanks in advance for any feedback!
The problem with turf boots IMHO is they are like trainers and honestly I can't get the same power in a shot like I can with boots. These 2g3g versions look like an ideal cross between ag and tf with the best of both😊
I have to wear the 2g/3g boots (like the old 15.1x ag soleplate) otherwise I do my knees, calfs, achilles. I even stick an extra insole in for extra comfort.

with sizing is the different country a factor. You say your usual US sizing fits perfect but with Nike and adidas the us size would be different in uk. For example. I’m an 8.5UK in Nike which would be a 9.5US, but an 8.5UK in adidas is a 9US, so in theory would I need to go 9UK in adidas to get TTS in comparison to a Nike 8.5UK?
That’s correct. Adidas is one of the only boot brands that differs their UK sizing for whatever reason. Across all brands, US sizing tends to be the most consistent

The 2G/3G version will also work well on those horrible dirt/ash fields we have in central Europe (and in East Asia I believe)

Ever since the adidas ghosted the adidas studs have been so aggressive. Torn my acl with it. Scary stuff to use those studs on AG

Yes. I used the FG with the tongue and its damaged my legs from all the impact. There's also too much friction.

In AG models, front of the boots are higher. I hate this because I hit more to the surface. Additionaly, my ankles hurt more on the Ag version.

How does the 2G/3G stud pattern feel compared to the AG stud pattern on the Mizuno Alpha? I love that stud pattern on AG.
The stud pressure is a lot more distributed on the 2G/3G imo. However, the sole plate is way too clunky compared to the Alpha MIJs.

I have the crazyfast .1 turfs and the upper is very similar to the fg version. It might just be the predator which isnt a great turf variant.

I had a pair of Predator 18.1s, which had conical studs, and they were really comfortable on AG. Terrible decision to move away from them.
