I enjoyed making this video. One thing missing from the video is a deer kept running around the backyard of the last house we filmed at. It was crazy. It also doesn't show how freaking humid it was. I was drenched. Another big difference between the Wright and the Scag is the controls. They werebhard for me to get used to.
I really appreciate your help today brother. You do great work. Yeah, the humidity was nasty. The controls are very different. I do like the Wright but Scag is just my baby.
Doc, you have me rolling here! "I hate these flags, I mow them over." I love it! They are a pain in the ass with that kind of stuff. Keep up the great work! Have a great weekend.
gunna see Doc on a Wright soon lol. ive not used either to mow with but to me a wright is more comfortable than a vride ive rode both around a dealers lot and liked the wright more
Doc...you NEVER admit that yellow machine cut better than the orange baby!🤣🤣🤣 It's great to see Tim out there getting it done with ya....every little bit helps!💯✌️
These kids, they've been here for months playing in the grass! You know what I do with them? I mow them over! hahaha! Now, THAT would be hilarious! Cool mower comparisons. I think they both have their own strengths. To each his own, I guess. Good job mowing that wet mess, Gentlemen! Hi, Sarah!
I took that out a few months back. Scag needs to power up these mowers a bit. Don't see them making the change though. Could hurt them in the long run.
@@DOCREAL1118 I think you can buy the 52 with a 37hp efi now. I haven't run scag in years for lack of power we have a couple turf tigers we use for really tall yards to knock them down but that's about it. May want to tach your mower also. We bought new mowers and rpms set from 3200 to 3750 seems like its overlooked by the dealers alot around here
Great video! I enjoyed the comparison. I think you are right about the power difference in the motors. The other factor could be the baffle on the velocity deck. I believe you get better dispersal (especially with wet grass) with the baffle all the way up or even removed completely. Have a great night!
Wrights are sold at my dealer and they are known for their stripping abilities. Yeah I know about those picky customers but I would suggest him doing is letting the customers know in advance with the rain if I cut it it's not going to be perfect if you want it bagged it's this price and let them decide.
@@DOCREAL1118 its like you said Shane, depending on where we live and the type of grass in our region, plays a big part in what equipment we need. I can't believe the price of the Qwikchute is now around 350.00!!🤬👍🏼
Scag’s are throw and go. They leave much larger clippings on top of the lawn than most mowers. I sold my VR2 for that reason… the opening is too wide and doesn’t give enough time to break clippings down. If you take the rollers of the back of a Scag and just based it off the cut of the deck (as most other brands have no stripe kit) you’d find the cut is not as great as you think. The roller on the Scag rolls the grass so based of stripe alone is very deceiving. Also, why would anyone cut full speed ? Thats ripping the grass not cutting it … just saying …
I cut at times full speed when I know I am double cutting. I think the SCAG does just fine but we all have an opinion. Most folks opinion works toward what they want to believe 👊🙏🇺🇸
Great video with Tim. I have never used a Wright...I would like to but no dealers anywhere near me. I have demoed a 52 V ride 2....on wet thick lawns. I thought it dispersed grass pretty damn good but I feel Scag stand on mowers are underpowered. No guards on trimmers ever. And screw those damn lil flags..lol 👊😎

With wet grass whatever has bigger HP motor will cut better. Vride 52 with a 37hp against that wright would a been better match. The 48 is so underpowered.

Tim was a huge help. I say this- the 52 Wright is no match for the 52 Scag. Apples to Apples my friend 👊💯🇺🇸
There's no competition with the Velocity Plus deck, though. Enjoy the mow, guys!
Agree, that's why I bought the V Ride II
Scag I need stander next season to beat all the walker mower competitors !!
Great comparison video Doc, honest opinions. Going to try a set of Exmark blades to see if Tim is onto something
Could possibly be for sure. Not Apples to Apples but it shows a different view. Thanks Ron 👊💯
It sounded like a swarm of bees 🐝 with both mowers running side by side. PEACE ✌

That Wright Stander X and your Scag V Ride 2 Both cut very nice. They say the Wright ZK cuts even better than the X.
Wish I had that 52 to compare it to. Both great mowers. Still love that velocity deck.
I would have purchased a ZK but it would have taken forever to get a 52" delivered. The fuel tank on the ZK is bigger as well.
