Sept. 18, 2019---Thanks for the video. No doubt, people of Dad's/Grandpa's generations and kids of that time watched these shorts at some movie theater before the main feature and of course, the war bond drive. Dad/Grandpa were in the Army, stationed thru out Europe. Dad was with Patton's army as a combat engineer, Grandpa was with graves registration. One of the things I really like for diorama ideas is the behind the scenes look of what it took America to not only keep our troops supplied with goods and rebuilt equipment, but our allies. Like the guy working on that truck tire when given his voting paperwork.

What do you mean? It is a 'jeep', a 3/4 ton, 4 wheel vehicle. Or are you asking about the one with the machine gun?

Bob Young I believe it’s a 3/4 ton truck called M47 weapons carrier. Called a “Beep” as a contraction of big Jeep by the troops.

I am in my 50's now, so back in the 70's when I was a kid men from WW2 were in their 50's. I got to hear first hand stories about their time in WW2. They talked about the mundane day to day stuff not actual combat related things.
My uncle was on a couple carriers in WW2, he was injured during Japanese air strikes but never talked about that part of the Navy, and we were taught to never ask him of other Vets about their time in war. I found out by seeing a photo my grandmother had, he had both arms bandaged and in splints standing beside another sailor with similar injuries. I ask my grandmother about it, she said he got hurt when a Jap plane struck his ship off Okinawa.

Yep, Dad told the funny stories, but never talked about the hard stuff except with his Army buddies. I knew he was at Pearl the morning it was bombed, but didn't know he was at Guadacanal until I was about 18, two years after he passed away.

Did anyone notice the US soldier carrying, as in to carry as primary weapon, a Sturmgewehr, at 10.20 approx in Meitz?

MPs should get their asses to the front line instead of pushing real soldiers around.

Luckily for them they fight only Fighting 3 countries, Germany Italy and Japan, unlike Germany who was fighting so many countries at the same time including 3 superpowers.

While Germany, Japan and Italy challenged and made war on the world to make it a fascist world! It it were happen today, the Trump administrati8on would have the US ally with Germany, just as Trump tred to ally the US with his good friend and good leaeder and mentor Putin! A indicator of just how much and how far the US has fallen!
Your comment it one of the most stupid I have sen on UA-cam today, and that is saying a lot!

Yeah, whose fault was that? I am sick and tired of morons like you who continually fall all over themselves defending Germany and their allies. Germany had every intention of enslaving the world and were murdering anyone who they deemed inferior. Furthermore, Germany and the Axis were only successful at the start of the war, once they started coming up against real armies, they were no longer successful.
