      I think he's saying I'm flawed, pray for me, I still need help, I need my brother n sisters to pray for me, not follow what I do... Not do as I do.
      I'm scared... Yet to the day I die in going to make errors and I'm not the one to model ur life after, JESUS is. I'm in the spot light... So I'm held accountable in regard to Who GOD blessed with a gift to help shape humanity yet I'm still flawed one day ppl will forget me now that I made it ... Yet pray for me ... I think

    This mans music and the Holy spirit literally pulled me out of the bed of sin one night when a secular starion played the reason why i sing. His albums have been part of the soundtrack of my walk for almost 30 yrs. I owned those VHS tapes you referenced, i knew exactly what you referred to. I love Kirks heart and little Kirks journey. He IS seen. He is LOVED for who he is.

  • @brittanysapology9528
    @brittanysapology9528 Місяць тому +296

    When Kirk said "he cannot afford to be forgotten", this perhaps explains why he does such outlandish things on the stage, like those dances and falling out and being carried away on stage. He wants people to continue to pay attention to him, while I can sympathize with this to an extent, this is why so many people think Christianity is becoming a circus. Because too many Christian influencers are doing things for shock value instead of being led by the Holy Spirit, because they want to stay relevant in the eyes of the world. This is why rappers come out as Gay & do those "embarrassment rituals" because it's a way to gain popularity and attention, but it comes as a very unfair cost.
    But Jesus Christ is the Only One we need to be remembered by. Especially on that terrible day when He has to tell the majority of humanity to depart from Him because He never knew them.
    But even if man forgets who you are, it doesn't matter. God will not forget you. And it's important to do things for His sake, and not for the sake of fame and attention.
    Edit: I was actually going to delete this comment in fear that I was passing judgement over Kirk but the Lord dropped something in my Spirit for Kirk: He truly needs to repent. He claims he is just “trying his best”, but refuses to be transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit. He refuses to separate himself from the world. He indirectly deceives his followers into thinking that repentance is not important and God does not need to be feared. He loves to remind us that we have all fallen short of the glory of God and have sinned, by refuses to tell people they must repent and be washed by the blood of Christ, for this is what our salvation is hinged upon. You MUST repent and turn away from sin. You can not sit in your sin like a pig sits in slop and expect God to accept it. You cannot continue to do what is wrong and think God accepts it. Jesus can save you from sin.

      More judgements and no wisdom. Just more religion as usual. No understanding at all. If all you needed was to know that God loves you and that is absolutely it.....there would be more healed and delivered people. More than you telling people that God loves them is needed. The mind needs to be healed and that is a very long and enduring process. It takes a lifetime to be transformed by the renewing of the mind. This is why grace and forgiveness is needed and no judgment.

    *Larry Burkett's book on "Giving and Tithing" drew me closer to God and helped my spirituality. 2020 was a year I literally lived it. I cashed in my life savings and gave it all away. My total giving amounted to 40,000 dollars. Everyone thought I was delusional. Today, 1 receive 85,000 dollars every two months. I have a property in Calabasas, CA, and travel a lot. The enemy gets us really young with the spirit of rejection, this is the root of all the pain in the world. To be rejected is being told that your existence is a mistake, it’s not needed and therefore you spend your entire life comparing, competing and conforming in an attempt to fill the void in our soul. The only antidote to rejection is love❤

      We are called to judge righteously according to scripture. We should never judge to bring people down or to shutdown peoples opinion. but we must judge those who represent the kingdom in such a way that is contrary to the word. We must judge knowing that our brothers sins can lead them to death - Ecclesiastes 4 9-10..We must judge to protect The word of God and his vessels ...And to often people say ''I DONT JUDGE" simply to justify their own behaviours..

    Great, unfiltered convo! Kirk's a forerunner and I appreciate Tim allowing him to be human. The Holy Spirit moved through Tim to pour into Kirks wounds with divine wisdom. I pray Kirk heals from his seemingly rejection/abandonment wound and comes to a genuine realization that who he is in God is more than enough. God still cares and sees us, no matter how much stuff we've done for the world to care and see us.

      I agree and also Christians ought to judge righteously and correct each other with love and compassion. not with hatred. but even before we judge righteously in general, we all just need to pray and consult God before having a word with people. sometimes what we say doesn’t come out the right way, and we combat that with prayer and intimacy with God and asking Him to teach us how to love people better.

      No he didn’t. He stroked his feelings and kept him in a place that doesn’t allow him to repent and die to himself. Tim Ross does not know the Lord. He’s full of compromise and does not have the fear of the Lord. Why can’t black folk who call themselves Christians see this. Stop allowing yourself to be deceived by those who do not exemplify Christ to the world.

    • @vanessa-hw8hb
      @vanessa-hw8hb Місяць тому +2

      @franklin9613 Most of us find ourselves strongly tempted to pronounce judgment on others. God authorizes us to judge and rule in certain areas. However we are warned against stepping beyond the limits of our authority to judge. You stated that Tim doesn't know the Lord. You are judging his heart, and only God knows fully the heart, mind and motives of mankind. Many Christians use the social media platform to lie, gossip, slander, sew division and judge without authority. God tells us to first remove the plank from our own eyes before we try to remove the speck from our brother's eyes. We should love people, but hate sin; we often get it twisted. Jesus came FULL of grace (love) and truth (word). When some believers demonstrate grace, others see it as weakness or being deceived. Some Christians want grace and mercy when they sin, but full judgement when their brother sin.

    I dont listen to the Basement everyday, but when I do listen I hear a man who has a heart of fairness and mercy. We hear so much in the media about public figures and because we dont know them personally its very easy to take what we have been told and move away, many times with not a very good impression. I have listened to you give persons the opportunity to say their side which we would not normally hear. This reminds me of the heart of God, a heart of mercy, that loves us right where we are, warts and all. As believers the temptations change based on our circumstances, I see power and influence as opportunities for temptation which all of us may not have but nevertheless it presents for some. I dont envy those in the public domain and the challenge to serve God wholeheartedly standing in front of humans who can idolize the gift God has given. Tim, continue to be all that God has called you to be while being faithful to Him.

    It's not about being sinless but about knowing what is right from what is wrong and genuinely striving to do your best. Repeating the same sins show after show and time after time indicates a lack of true repentance. While you might want others to sympathize with you, it's crucial to demonstrate genuine repentance in return. It's not about seeking self-glory, being seen, or maintaining popularity, it's about ensuring that Jesus receives all the glory. Wanting glory for yourself clearly contradicts this purpose.

    Scripture says, “Have nothing to do with fruitless works of darkness, but to avoid fruitless works of darkness, then it clearly means we should have nothing to do with darkness itself. Additionally, we should not let our good be evilly spoken of. The problem with your statement about supporting you if you get a call to work with Will Smith is that nowhere do we see Jesus seeking help from the kingdom of darkness to spread the gospel.
    Nowhere in Scripture do we see Him approaching the Pharisees and suggesting, “Hey, let’s spread the gospel together. Your message and my message combined will win more souls.” That never happened. Jesus always stood out and was often hated by them; they wanted nothing to do with Him.
    So, if an offer comes from someone like Will Smith, it’s no different than the enemy tempting you with a lucrative paycheck in exchange for compromise. Clearly, you wouldn’t be spreading the message of Jesus while working with these individuals because they wouldn’t allow it. If you say something they disapprove of, you risk losing the deal.
    This is simply an excuse to work with darkness. For what purpose? You know in your heart it’s not going to be to spread Christ’s message because they won’t permit it. Thus, it’s evidently about money, and the love of money leads people to commit all sorts of evil.

    • @deandreofficial
      @deandreofficial Місяць тому

      You think Will smith is an equivalent to a Pharisee? Pharisees are religious leaders… Jesus most definitely would’ve kicked it with someone who admits they are a sinner, it’s the people that don’t is the issue

    Man…. I don’t ever really comment on videos but I must say, I’ve listened to the podcast and Ive watched the video. Because of the actual interview being around 2 hours and this specific video only being 30 min, (full version on the B-Side app)clearly a lot was cut but trust me guys… this is like this is like when the book is better than the movie in theaters. So much more tender details and nuances on the podcast. There’s more depth, understanding and grace for who he is, a Man of God. A hero that I’ve known longer than I’ve been alive. It’s definitely a must listen. Or if you subscribe on the B-Side app it’s a must watch 😉.

    I'm so glad you have done this show. Kirk Franklin, you are always in my prayers. Your heart is pure, and your music has been a lifeline for myself and millions more. When mary anointed jesus' feet with that expensive oil some of the discipleship including jurassic who would betray Jesus were against it focusing on the value of the oil. But Jesus immediately corrected them and encouraged her to continue because her focus was on Jesus. These naysayers are focusing on the wrong thing. Instead of looking at Jesus lifting up Jesus they looking at the cost of the oil. The cost represents the world and the byproduct is the celeberty of it. The oil represents Jesus. You all keep pouring that oil. And helping people see Jesus. MAY GOD CONTINUE TO BLESS YOU.

    Wrong person to interview Kirk. Tim is literally helping Kirk justify his nonsense. Zero accountability here. He's too focused on his self glory and nothing to do with Christ. Matthew 6:24
    "I'm too insecure to allow you to forget ME" If this doesn't tell you what you need to know about this man's heart then Idk what else to tell you.
