Thank you for making this rendition of awareness. It is quite sad that our criminal injustice system is very dangerous to the society. I pray this never happens to anyone anymore. God bless your handwork! You are doing a great job for Yoruba people.

The system of justice in Nigeria is not normal. I am pleading to the Nigeria government to look into this epileptic justice system in Nigeria. What is the name of the DPO that carried out this atrocity and the IP on the case at that time.

Is Dele Farotimi wrong with the country justice system? The judge should be fired, certificates revolve and sentence to life imprisonment for others to learn 😡😡😡

Some of you are ignorant of how the court systems work. You start blaming judges for nothing. Do you know what the prosecutors presented before the judge? Do you know what the law says? What was the oath the judge swore to? Did you even listen to this presentation to the end on how the judge used his discretion to handle the matter? Despite that the law says once you are found with a form of weapon (even a knife or anything that can be used to cause injury) and you use force to dispossess someone of his property, you have committed armed robbery and the sentence under the law you are charged with is death penalty, the judge had no choice than to apply the law. But he used his discretion to say that even though he must pronounce what the law says, he said they should not be executed but put in prison and after 10 years their files should be taken before the governor in power at that time for them to be granted amnesty. But you are here condemning the judge. And some of you would present things as if Nigerias case is unique. In US, Canada, UK that you would praise their criminal justice system, things like this occur and that would not make them to conclude their own criminal justice system is corrupt. An example is a report in February 2024 (this year) in US "In December, he was legally declared innocent of the crime. Simmons, now 70, had spent 48 years, five months and 13 days in prison - the longest time anyone in the US has been jailed before being cleared. “You used the term miscarriage of justice,”. So these things happen everywhere. Another one Richard Phillips spent 46 years in prison before he was found innocent. And another one in Texas spent 34 years before he was cleared of his conviction. All these in US. The Americans did not say the judges in this case were bribed or were corrupt. A similar case happened in Canada with someone spending almost 30 years. And note that until 2005, children were sentenced to death and executed in US! And even now they are sentenced to long years in prison for criminal offences. Even in our traditional justice system which we praise, we had miscarriage of justice severally. That is why you have the saying "oriyeye ni mogun, taise lo po". These things are condemnable anywhere it happens, but it is not peculiar to only Nigeria and does not prove that a judge is corrupt. Or are you saying this judge was bribed to sentence the boy to death and he still made a way to save him? We pray that nobody would fall into such misfortune again.

Don't look at the sentence to death because of ordinary fowl as the issue.
I read somewhere that during the stealing someone lost his life and many were wounded.
However i appeal to Governor Adeleke to do necessary investigation and do the needful.
But to me ooh :- our dear Governor should PLEASE release SEGUN having spent 14 years behind bars.
