  • My first 4* with Zeb since our fall at Bicton and we completed!!! It wasn’t our best day and we did have a bit of a meltdown however we completed which is the main thing!!! I was very very nervous as you can imagine for the XC which didn’t help the Dressage or SJ! But Zeb was epic as usual and helped me out round the XC course and you definitely wouldn’t have known he had had a fall as he felt great!!
It was so good to get back out there and finish our event season on a high 🎉🎉
So I hope you enjoy the vlog and please like, comment and subscribe as I really appreciate it 🥰

I love that even though he was difficult and you were upset after dressage, you still gave him a pat when you finished! We’ve all been there when things don’t go to plan and it’s so hard when we put so much money and time into them for them to just say no on the day. What an absolute star he is cross country, he makes it look like a walk in the park! He’s such a talented boy, if you could get the dressage sorted you’d both be unstoppable. I admire both your riding and your attitude to turn it around from feeling so disappointed to get back out there and ride positive in the jumping; I would still have been miserable so I need to learn your mindset! X

Great to see you guys out and about at 4* again!! I think Zeb needs a winter of pure dressage, lots and lots and lots of boring dressage shows, so he'll see there's no need to do them backwards... silly Zebbie.
I understand you're frustrated, I've never done that high level, but I did the highest pony FEI tests on my dressage pony and she would do everything perfect at home, but when we got to competitions and she would get super tense in the canter transitions, especially the walk to counter canter, even if she was super strong in counter canter and had no problem doing tiny circles... she would also get tense in the backing up. It was super frustrating, because I took her up the levels myself, like you and Zeb, only higher of course.

Have you thought of sending Zeb to someone like Michael Eilberg to see if he can bottom the dressage issues, seems to me he is too good a horse at the other two phases to give up on him quite yet and sort the dressage phase out and you will be flying xxx

I have a question, though: I know you know Zebedee a million times better than I, but could his dressage saddle be a bit too far back? I noticed to me that it seemed to be girthed quite a bit far back, and though yes, you want shoulder clearance, I wonder if it's pinching him somewhere?
Again, you know your pony, and I'm sure you get it regularly fitted. It was just a wee question.
Much luck to you as you continue your eventing journey. ❤️

Listen : it’s okay to have fails. It’s okay to walk to the trailer tie up your horse and cry. But it’s not okay to give up. You’ll make it through I’ve had friends who thought they could never do it I thought I would never do it but I did and my friends did too. You learn from your mistakes. You can’t be perfect at everything but you can try hard and make that your perfect. Yes you messed up but it’s okay. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve hit barrels or pulled my horse up and fell in between the cracks and lost money. Just believe in yourself and you can do it. You can get him trained and get him to be better but it takes time. Remember we are here for you.

We had one horse that was always great in the warm-up so we stopped doing warm-up under saddle and lunged a bit then got on and went in the ring, he did much better. Also, I am in Canada and in the province of Ontario we have an absolute miracle vet that does Eastern / western / voodoo medicine and is sought after by Olympic riders from all over the world; She is forever being flown somewhere in the world to work on top-level horses. she works regularly on mine and it is phenomenal results. she defies description, she is just astounding. such a gift.

I've seen you say he can be an ass in dressage but this is the first time I've seen him actually lose it. I didn't know he had it in him as every video his dressage has been well mannered until this one.
I think I would have cried also as he just wouldn't settle.

My 3* horse fractured his food and will have time off over the winter - I’m keeping myself positive seeing you getting back out there! Fantastic job as always! Hope I get to see you compete in the UK one day 💜

He looked so pleased with himself throughout that entic XC trip!! What a horse. You’ll get the dressage and show jumping over the winter, he was just eager to redeem himself!! Get some rest and good luck training 💕🥳

He’s a xc machine. He ate what was a very very tight technical big course and made it look like a novice course. You pecked after that huge trakhener but my goodness what an animal. He must feel amazing being onboard. He just makes it look easy. Well done. I think if he ever retires he’d enjoy the grand national !

Loved your Vlogg !! The main man has Thoroughtwat in him so once in a while he will be a twat !! Its an art not to get upset with the Thoroughbred moments. I am still learning there is no reason for the moments which are so frustrating as you know and how not to over react to them .... Cross country was amazing he was saying sorry mum!! To come 14th just shows you were not alone with problems.. Well done ...
