    I have a 2012 Nissan Sentra S with over 207,000 miles on it. Never had an issue with the original CVT. I changed the fluid every 60,000 miles as required in the owner’s manual. Nissan is capable to be reliable as Toyota and Honda. You haters should learn how to read a manual and drive a car properly and you won’t have any problems long term.

    • @nicholasbabeaux2052
      @nicholasbabeaux2052 4 роки тому +7

      I agree most people don’t change the transmission fluid, but Nissan does have a history of transmission failures even when the fluid is changed, luckily they do cover a lot of them out of warranty up to 200,000 miles, I am a mechanic and I haven’t seen a lot of failures in the Sentras as it was the rogue and the Altima’s

       @Kelsey Duncan I do. Am still loving driving it. The features are great although I don't like the sensor stuff that tells you if you're going out of lane etc, I prefer to being in control always, so have those switched off. But those features are becoming more and more standard I guess and that's no reflection on the car itself.
      Only negative is that Apple Play doesn't always connect well when plugging into the usb, but that might just be my phone as well.
      Apart from that, I enjoy driving whenever I'm in it and this winter has seen me use the heated steering wheel and seats a lot. I'm warm very quickly.

    So, two weeks ago I traded my 2012 Rogue SV (with 47k miles) in for a 2021 Platinum. It was a hard decision because of the low miles and nice to not have a car payment. I also had no mechanical issues whatsoever, because I properly maintain my vehicles. But I started think about it, and when I saw the incredible upgrade in styling and features, decided to go for it. Holy Cow - this new Rogue is AMAZING!! I feel like I left behind the Fred Flintstone Mobile for the Jetson's Spaceship!!! It is truly beautiful inside and out, and I have not even taken advantage of all the features yet. I got a great deal, and could not be happier!! Definitely pulled the trigger at the right time

      What do you think about the 2021 seat comfort? How does it feel compared to your previous Rogue?
      I was sold on the zero gravity seat technology. But to be honest, I think I'm kinda disappointed. The seat is not soft enough, the cushions are not thick enough, and it doesn't feel like there is memory foam in it. Only looks nice due to the leather. But comfort wise, it's not much better than my 2018 Rogue.
      My 2020 Civic has softer seat cushions that feel like memory foam.

    This Rogue is the best so far and the best vehicle Nissan has made in a very long time after Sentra. It’s the best compact suv in the market. Solid, fully loaded and great value for money. I say, so long as the CVT problems are no more, and it very well might be fixed permanently now, and so long as the 3 cylinders hold up against the more concentrated power, and so long as the variable combustion system hold up, then I say yes, this might very well be better than all the other choices in this segment. CR-V is out because of its out of control theft problem and dealer arrogance. RAV4 is loud and too plastic fantastic. The VW is too anemic and also too hard plastic ish. CX-5 is too small with its tight rear legroom and silly narrow trunk and sloped and all. Also there is this hype how the CX-5 supposedly looks good, but imo it looks simple and outdated. The Rogue's front is a little too pickup truck like but otherwise it looks good from all angles. Interior is plush like the CX-5.
      Thing with reviews is that Nissan gives loaners to reviewers that is always always their higher model. It doesn't let us see the regular S or SV.
      Kia and Hyundai is out because of its unforgivable engine problems that is *NOT* fixed I predict. It's beyond their Theta disaster - look it up. It means the otherwise very nice Sportage, sorry to say, but it's a non starter (imo).

    Great video! I'm torn between this, and the slightly more expensive 2021 Hyundai Santa Fe in the Calligraphy trim. This will get better mileage, but with the 2.5 turbo, and the wet DCT, the Santa Fe will be much more engaging. I currently own a 2007 Hyundai Sonata Limited that I purchased new and has only had to go to the shop for a non maintenance related issue just once when the AC compressor went out and cost me over $500 to replace; so I have been impressed with Hyundai's overall reliability. After 13 years, the engine is so quiet and smooth that I barely hear it running. That said, I'm still open to looking at other brands and vehicles, including the Rogue.

Had a blue Rogue with the tan/black leather seats and even with the air on full blast took forever to cool. And yes, I always used a windshield sunscreen. I had a platinum pathfinder with the ventilated seats and it was wonderful. Traded for the better mileage with the Rogue. Worst mistake of my life. The Pathfinder could use some more updating, but if you don't mind the lower mileage it is a much more comfortable vehicle

    CVTs are not responsive and not fun to drive. In fact, they are very confusing to drive and requires some getting used to. Also not as tough and durable as automatics. The only good reason to have a CVT is slightly better fuel economy. Not a good trade for everything you have to give up, in my opinion.

    • @truth959
      @truth959 3 роки тому +2

      @@EpicDrew15 I do not think you actually have experience with both. Or if you do and couldn't tell the difference, that's a problem dude. When it comes to transmissions, a delay in response time is never a good thing. As for Subarus, they are fine when driven easy. When pushed, I've seen them break. Subaru seems to know this, and now they program their transmissions to cut all power when the wheels encounter a higher than normal resistance.

      @@EpicDrew15 Let me ask you a question. If CVTs are so fine, then why do you not find them in top of the line luxury vehicles for the rich? Something for you to chew on.

      There is one area where CVT is bad; towing. Limits for comparable vehicles with automatics are twice or more higher than for those with CVTs.

    I had rogue 2020 which honk/hazard lights when I lock from remote key while all doors are closed, which helps to make sure all doors are closed. And it will not honk/hazard lights if any door is open.
    Recently I bought 2021 rogue which honk/hazard lights always regardless of whether all doors are closed or not.

      The 2021 Nissan Rogue SV doesn’t come with the factory roof rails unless you get the premium package. Since it’s too late at this point, you can look into aftermarket crossbars. But since this car is new, you’ll want to confirm that it will fit.

    I’ve been debating between the 2021 Nissan Rogue and the 2022 Hyundai Tucson. The only downside for the Rogue is the lack of power, especially at higher elevations when the engine would be starving for air. The turbo charged engine is more efficient in this regard by it also adds complexity and maintenance/repair cost.

    30 seconds of stopping in traffic is not enough, it should be up to 5 minutes, or make it user adjustable. I really like to adaptive speed during cursing. With my 2018 Rouge, it scared me when I cruise at 70MPH when it approached a 30MPH curve !!! As a result, I don't use the cruise function that much within the city highway.

    What is the minimum ground clearance, as I am getting conflicting reports from other web sites? I read that it has 8.3" minimum ground clearance, I hope that is correct as a higher ground clearance is what is needed for myself, otherwise the 7.8" minimum ground clearance of the 2021 Ford Bronco Sport will be my alternate choice, as I live in snowy rough road northeastern Ontario.
