Very nice man. Always love what emerges from LYRA sessions. I often get to a point where I’m hearing human like utterances…that sometimes sound like my own voice!
Thank you! I've actually found myself trying to find these more harmonious moments more than the chaos and screams so far. I need to explore more of the chaos and screams.
Thank you! It's a very lovely, inspiring instrument - but make sure you read up and watch some reviews because it's also very niche... but if you get it, you really get it!
@@OscillatorSink thanks for the very practical advice. Truth is there are so many pieces if equipment I want but cant justify. This one gets added to the list. It makes such nice sounds for sure. Love your channel always inspiring.
I am literally in the process of planning a video where I talk about both the Lyra-8 and the Digitone in the context of working out: why I love two very different instruments as much as I do. The Digitone is never going away and given all the love the Digitakt has had in recent firmware updates I hope there will be lots of stuff to talk about for years to come!
@@OscillatorSink no way, how's about that. I'm made up it's still so dear to your heart. I look forward to it. (Yeah that Digitakt update was massive, it made my OT sit up).
Yep I see what you mean ‘Fairy Music’ … made me feel nicely relaxed, could’ve quite happily listened to more. A dreamy combination of frequencies. Just wondering OS, have you thought of designing a synth type instrument ? P E A C E : )
I like what you’ve been getting out of the Lyra-8. I wonder if you’ve given any thought to the idea of replicating a sound/progression for a future date? I know that’s not what you are going for in these sessions, but does the thought ever occur when you are improvising, “this sounds so good, I wonder if I could recall these settings again sometime.”? This comes up for me when performing with other musicians and sometimes they ask me to, “play that thing you did the other night.” or some such comment. This topic could make for an interesting post on its own, no?
There are certain things that I'm confident that I could recreate the basic vibes of, but the lyra-8 is super sensitive to what each element of the synth is doing (on some settings more than others), so some of these moments will probably be lost to time. It's one of those instruments where you need to always be ready to record, or make peace with that idea of living in the moment.

Something lives in there for sure.
This feels and has a similar sound palette as the forest temple in ocarina of time!
Perhaps that's where my brain went when I named it. That game is indelibly etched on my consciousness.
I’ve been wanting one of these for so long. This sounds great.
Thank you. I was in the same situation until I finally gave in and here we are. No regrets.
Wow, you made the most beautiful thing from a screaming monster.

Wow that sounds amazing. Ambient heaven!!! Now I want one 😅

Trouble with you getting something like this is your music is so good and this is so wild that I'm my beloved Digitone is never getting a look in 🤣

Bravo ! 👏👏🎶

Thank you. I've definitely daydream-designed synths in my head, but the actual hardware, circuit or dsp design is sadly beyond me.
this is literally just hyper light drifter
