Got the same gizmo. Also, get Trans fluid triple flushed and replaced with recommended fluid. That fixed mine before I started using the device to prevent drop to 4th gear. Do both.
Haven't had the triple flush yet? The module solved my problem, 😀 just changed oil this morning as I now have 21k on car, afraid to leave my car at this dealership, had one bad experience with a C5 Z06 joy rides 😂
@fultonguyy seriously, there's a service bulletin out on it that dealerships have. I'd highly recommend getting it done. The water was an issue with original fluid. I have a C7.R that I'm very happy with, no interest in the C8. Good luck!
We had a 15 Z06 8 speed auto, I wish I had tried this before we got rid of it but that damn transmission was always hunting up and down the gears even when it was in V8 mode, ruined the car for me. If you were hammering it, it was great, otherwise, it drove me crazy. If it had a 7 spd manual, I would have never gotten rid of it… I’m glad you got it dialed in w this module. I’m thinking of getting one for our C8.
We just bought car in March 23, I told wife we got a lemon, the shifting and shuddering, and GM saying wrong fluid was put in tranny, but the dealership are trying to charge for flush, with a active service bulletin, so I met a guy with 2016 that told about the cylinder deactivation module, trust me transmission change no hunting and the car is V8 mode 24-7 the difference is instance all speed now we are happy campers. GM is currently in several class action on the issue.
The original transmission fluid in my ‘16 C7 with the A8 was hygroscopic. A triple flush with new transmission fluid should solve the issue. I also bought the Range plugin module and it works amazing. No codes popped up and I stay in V8 mode 100% of the time. I don’t live in a emissions testing state nor would I ever move to one. The transmission is still a little clunky until it warms up but the shudder was eliminated. It’s too bad I still have janky lifters in the engine, but I feel like the plug in module works great.
Hate to bring gas quality issue. However, using shell has kept all issues at bay for me. Of course I changed both transmission and differential fluids at 50k. My C7 with oem setup still runs great, sounds great with no mechanical sounds. Switch down and up from v4 is silk smooth with no jerks or sound. Moment I went to Costco gas since it was cheaper and couple of times to other brand gas including circle k, engine hesitancy and mechanical clatter slowly started coming back. If not for anything, just try she’ll once and keenly listen to mechanical sound from engine bay, it should go quieter, a lot quieter.
The reformulated fluid flush that was done in 2020 was only a temp fix in my '18 C7, the shuddering just started again. This time (now that the warranty has expired) the dealer wants to put in a new torque converter, I'm going to try this module instead. Is that module still working well to eliminate the shuddering?
This will solve the problem, going into year three, GM know what the fix is but refuses to correct thousands of cars, once you install the module it's a done deal, the triple flush is also a crock, I'm still running original trans fluid, buy the module you'll enjoy you car V-8 all the time, the cylinders dropping out or hunting is causing the lag👍🏾
Mine is A-8 Transmissions even in track mode at low speed cruising speed they will drop cylinder and go in V-4 Mode no indication on dash since I install cylinders deactivation it's a constant V8 mode what a difference.
Enjoy! One thing my 19 won’t do is remote start, because of the manual. There’s a UA-cam channel, Corvettes with Conti, that is great. He has a tech Tuesday, with Corvette Tech, Chuck. They are a wealth of knowledge.
@@joelpierce3940thanks this is my fourth Corvette and the fact this car has so much technology, 😊 more than I need but love this Car I had C5 Z06 reason I didn't get Manual they are hard to find, and I still have trans Am with 5speed.
Yes, could tell the difference as I hit the freeway, that shudder is the engine dropping cylinders, since the module 100 percent V-8 Regardless of the mode, your engine will last longer, there's guy out there saying they engines fail because of the V-4 cylinder drop.
When we got our 2019 Grand Sport brand new in May 2020 I was reading about these devices in a Corvette forum about a month later and immediately bought one. I bought mine directly from Range Technology website and it works perfectly fine. Ours is not a daily driver plus living in New England it gets stored away from Thanksgiving to April 1st each year. It now has 11,000 trouble free miles and will be our forever car at our age (70).

Definitely get for C8 check Corvette forum out , guys very knowledgeable on these cars.
Why ain’t homeboy drop the link to the product
Thank you sir ,enjoy the video. I did this to my 2019 grand sport right after getting it , I’ve had no problems either. 👍
It's a shame GM produced a great car with these flaws, and not make it right.

Thank you because I'm looking for one of these as I now have a 2018 CTS V and know this car will become a collectors item
Change fluid and filter and add LubeGaurd Instant Shudder Fix. Will be fine
Another GM brlliant engineering!!!!😂😂😂😂👍👍👍

Actually, this s a safety feature to prevent owners from going over 45MPH!!😂😂🤣🤣🤣👍👍👍👍
It’s “Eco Mode”. Manual will never go into Eco, unless you put it in Eco.

We not gointnto talk about the cideo just cutting off while he was supposed to be telling is another important thing?
Buy the Diablo intune 3, it contains an option to disable AFM. One and done.

Purchasing and owning an automatic Z06 should be a crime.
