- Paul 'Fatty' Vautin was relieved of his hosting duties from The NRL Footy Show at the end of 2017. After a tremendous 24 year tenure, he never got to say goodbye and thank his fellow colleagues and the viewers. On 24 May 2018, he finally got that chance, thus signing off on a marvelous career on The Footy Show.

I never got to see those days, but VAUTIN, Brohman, and especially Tommy Raudonikis were great to watch in recent years.

Michael Schuenemann yeah plus Channel 9 controls everything they say or do. At Fox there is alot of freedom which is why the Matty Johns Show is the best league show on the planet.

After 24 years in the show, exceptional ratings, and this was how Chanel 9 treated you !! Paul Vautins treatment was just "unprofessional" !! Thanks Fatty and Sterlo for creating such a great show. Watched it just about every week for years. As of this year I no longer watch it. The show is now just a "DOG" and very boring. Thanks for all the great memories !
@J G Funny that, a similar thing was said back in 2004/2005 when A-League first started that soccer would be the biggest sport in Australia by 2020... It wouldn't even be in the top 5 most popular... Even Super Netball is bigger than A-League 😂

To me the show was never really the same after Ray Hadley and Steve "Blocker" Roach left. The Chief and Matty Johns years were still good, but not quite as good as the "golden years" of the show with Hadley and Blocker pre 1999.
Fatty, we miss you mate. I have been with you from day one as someone who came to Australia from another country and you were my favourite show. I remember all the boys from the halcyon days.
I have stopped watching the Footy Show with Erin ... I simply can't relate to her as a quota women in a man's game who simply does not get men.
How could she possibly relate. She has never played the game, showered with the boys, had a beer poured over her head after a game, gone through all the trials and tribulations on and off the field that only comrades-in-arms do. What the hell would she know about the commitment required in a state of origin game or representative footy other than just talking about it.
Women simply can't have the same male banter that takes place on the field, in the change rooms and after the game, without men doing or saying something to upset the feminists ... they just don't get it and never will ... unfortunately women quotas and political correctness have won out ... next thing they will take from us is the man shed at the bottom of the garden, while they get to keep their female only institutions like women's only gyms.
If women insist on trying to infiltrate and hijack a man's game then they should get their own rugby league sides, with their own premiership games, their own state of origin and their own footy show and let it stand on its own two feet instead of breaking down our code.
Anyway I have stopped watching the footy show now, but thanks for all the enjoyment you gave me and my mates over the last 25 years. All the best for the future.

Fatty Vautin is a legend. I used to feel sorry for him the last few years on the show. It was unwatchable. Dud co hosts and unfunny segments.

The footy show should be brought back. It made rugby league entertaining and more roamtic. The taste of rugby league was there and now its missing. Channel 9 should bring it back for a greater promotion and entertainment in Rugby League 💯💯👏👏

funny when fatty was hosting they kept getting bagged for not talking enough about the football... now he's not there theres non stop chants asking him to come back and how much they now love him
I only just stumbled across this video, but made me a bit nostalgic, as Fatty and Sterlo and the team were just always there and the show was pure Gold..not always footy but that was the beauty of it....segments like Crack a Fatty etc. But of course the social justice warriors and the politically righteous started to gradually dull it down. Worst decision ever was appointing Erin Molan...she might know her football but so what...got to the point she started talking down to people, talking over them, making flippant remarks. You could feel and see the tension between her and the Fat and especially with Big Marn. I don't know anybody in football supporter circles who had anything good to say about her. So two great top rating shows, tinkered with and gone, including the AFL footy show, as again someone decided add a female presenter to be socially PC, well both backfired....for me though, loved the show and glad nobody has to watch Molan.

Glad he did get the chance to say goodbye and thank those who he wanted to thank. The way it just ended was deplorable you'd think he was Harvey Weinstein the show opened doors for characters like Beau Ryan and Matty Johns who is now killing it on Fox.

If you want the Footy Show than buy the videos or watch whatever UA-cam videos are available. They're always gonna be there if you want to reminisce. I used to tape the show every week, so some Thursday nights after the footy, I cue up one of the old VHS tapes and enjoy, the way I used to back in the day.
