Such great finds the transformer was the best the kids of Beverly’s birthday I think would love them and all those note books would be great for the ladies at the black burn center wow such a great dive I do miss seeing Beth hope all is well

I worked for a book vendor. It is too expensive to mail the boxes back for credit. So they gave us huge envelopes and we tore the covers off and put the covers in the envelope and threw books away. When it was just me doing the set, I took the books to the senior center. They loved them

With magazine and book companies, in order for the store to get credit for unsold items they have to return the covers to the company to prove it didn't sell. When I worked in a small town grocery store we would take the the magazines, puzzle books etc to local retirement homes. ❤
I love watching your dives. I've been so inspired pretty much any time I watch your videos. In my area the pickens are slim, but that's a good thing. Super pleased to see you save so much from the landfills!

Way to go 80K is amazing. You had a great haul today. Boys are hard to shop for, so I was glad you found boy items. You think it’s been hot?! It was 119* today in Phoenix for a high. Our low was 97* for a low. Both broke records! Needless to say I didn’t go outside!!!
My husband used to be a store manager at Rite Aid. They were required by the publishers of the books(any kind) to rip the front cover off and return them to get credit for the unsold items. He hated doing it but otherwise, the store would lose large amounts of money.

The store rips covers off to send back to get credit. It is proof they didn't sell. I owned a small convenience store back in the day and that is what I had to do every month for all magazines and books that didn't sell. Congrats on 80k. I started watching you in the hundreds!🎊♥😊

Yes, dumpster pickup days do change due to route changes. This is because of more or less dumpsters being added or taken away on a route. My husband used to work for Waste Management. (He passed away 3 years ago at 48)

Great job!!! Our Walgreens dumpster has barb wire razer blades on top of a 6 or so tall wood fence, nobody will get into that dumpster. Happy diving...

That was a great dive, cant believe the stuff store throw away. Great find with the transformers. ANd yes the pee was nasty.
I worked in a bookstore when I was a teenager. The covers were ripped off the books because the store sends the covers back to the publisher for credit on the unsold merchandise. I used to have to do that every month for the Harlequins and other monthly romances as well as the magazines.
Oh, also, I bought a pair of rainboots and always wear those when I'm diving.

What an awesome dive...my husband and I dive together, last night we found 13 cases of large bags of chips and 12 of the party packs..the dates are all Sept 23.. checked for recalls there weren't any...my church has a food bank now thinking about taking them there..I think what you do for people there is a great thing. Shannon, they rip the covers off because they get a credit back to the store from the book company if they send the covers back. Same on paperback books. Tuck a couple dryer sheets in the waist of your pants to keep bugs away.

Congrats on 80k. Its hard to dumpster dive here. The cops or security runs people out or take a risk of bekng kidnapped or shot at. Two people from my area (non related to each other) went missing and they found one but outcome was very sad and scary. The fish & wildlife people been lingering behind our shopping center and we have a ton of homeless back there too. I cant get husband to go with me for another driver and eyes for look out.
Mrs. Shannon, I try not to ever comment on any of the videos I watch, but I need to let you know that you are a person that everyone needs to admire. You should be admired because no matter what you are going through, you go out of your way (literally) to make people happy. You do not need to give to the people that watch you, you give so much to those that are in need already.
