Look carefully at the background scenery around the 2:20 mark to the right of the aircraft - who knows how fast its going but transonic at a minimum judging by that shock wave.
@@nialloshea8564 He's probably just over 300 knots in that instance. Pulling that maneuver at transonic speeds really beats the air frame up. Usually at transonic you'll see the cone trying to form.
This looks like one of those videos you’d see in a Best Buy on a new flat screen TV that shows off how sharp and clear the image quality is, it’s really impressive
Amazing: starting at 00:22 it's very easy to see an amazing design key on the F-22. The air intakes acts also as a Lerx (same like in a F-18), re-energyzing the boundary lyer and creating a high energy vortex. That energyzed vortex travels trough the fuselage until reaching exactly both rudders. This fact (together with the vectorial nozzles) gives to the F-22 an extra yaw authority at very low speeds and makes the F-22 a formidable low speed fighter. I wonder if in long-therm, it will creates structural fatigue in the rudder fins as happened on the legacy F-18's, where rudders where to be reinforced.
Another AMAZING fact: 00:30 till 00:42 during that high angle of attack manouvre, take a look on the rudders, a very close and focused look: after being re-energyzed by the lerx (but as that air flux are not laminar but turbulent), both rudders are constantly doing super fast, micro-corrections in order to keep the perfect yaw. What an amazing masterpiece of engineering!!!

Back in 2002 when I was in college, I went through a phase as in whenever there was a boring lecture I'd just draw pictures of the F-22 and I had a notepad full of it. Still awestruck by this beautiful aircraft to this day.
I've been using UA-cam since they started the site in the mid 2000's and this is probably the best footage I've seen on here, my mind is blown! Absolutely brilliant photography of this beautiful aircraft in motion!
Just my 2 cents, but I have watched fighter jets since a youngster and it’s so hard to portray the power these beasts have into a UA-cam video. Until now. I think Dustin is onto something here. This is the first video I have seen where the videographer is able to capture a hint of how these engineering marvels are able to fuck up the laws of physics. Wow what a video.
If the quality of the video and footage and the beauty of the F22 were not enough, the selection of Centrifuge for the music and how you've sync'ed it simply makes this video one of the best I've ever watched & listened!! Congrats!
Thermal Energy and emissions cause the heated air particles to jump around like crazy along with being pushed out of the way the vacuum created is then filled up by air on the side of the heated area to enter the heated areas and then energy is transferred to those new air particles which are then pushed out of the way again and the heat forces them to violently crash around and into eachother bouncing off and fizzle higher in to the atmosphere away from gravity, until grey cool down again , these causes the light to fraction and move around the particles thus the fascinating blur is shown the same can be observed om the road on a hot summer day if you put your face down to the pavement and look directly at the black road , you will see the heat cause gas particles to obscure light waves
Oh how I've waited for a moment like this, where I can actually SEE the sound pressure waves propagate out and away from the thrust of the jet stream. VERY cool my dear sir. Very cool! Biggest props to everyone involved for making this!

I've watched this several times. It's addictive. As a creator I'm absolutely blown away by the effort you've taken to establish perfect composition. My fave shot? The low pass over the runway where the SHADOW is dead centre yet 99% of people will focus on the plane itself. Astonishing.

I actually think that 5th gen fighters are little boring looking. There are only so many shapes that are both aerodynamic and stealthy. this is why all 5th gen planes looks similar. 4th gen fighters are IMO better looking since those shapes where only determined on how well it goes though the air without stealth considerations.
Well the J-20 a copy of several fighters tries to live up to its name as the dragon. The F-22 is a true descendant of previous craft like the F-16 fighting falcon (VIPER) and the stealth fighter bomber the F-117 Nighthawk, and the U2 Spyplane (Dragon Lady). The F-22 Raptor is indeed a evolved bird of prey in its element and its a sight to behold. A true work of art.
*These slow motion shots are impressive* Observing at a natural pace, we do not notice how much is happening in one second. p.s. I saw the short film "Let me know when you see Fire" and the video showing the filmmakers' workshop from behind the scenes. You can see how much dynamics there is, how little time for doubts and reflection. One mistake and you can lose your life.
