Been walking every day this week since the Snow, then Ice, then more snow this morning. I don't normally walk that much, but no way was I getting in the car. Ive enjoyed my snowy walks this week, my walking stick to steady me, wellington boots on I look like Im ready for Horse Riding. Plus I had fun writing in the snow with walking stick, played Noughts and Crosses, and wrote I 💜Snow outside a church I walk past daily. Mediated at Doctors today, and visited elderly friend, then walked round local park at 4pm, so much snow about Ankle deep, kids on Sledges Red, blue ones, everyone happy, Dogs enjoying the Snow. Me watching them all saying hello to a Bertie a Tibetian Terrier, Rhodesian Ridgeback called Dolly 😂I did laugh to myself at that 😂. The sky was blue, sun shining on the moon and lighting up half of a plane ✈ was stunning, the field was so Misty, never seen a Snowy land in Winter like that. It taken me ages to warm up, but wow what great Memories ❤ I love that piece of music and seeing your fave bench. Stay warm Nigel and Molly Thanks for a calming video ❤❤ ps I made a Snow Angel with a Cowboy 🤠 hat lol my daughter said two teenagers went past today saw it, and laughed at it 😂😂😂 my job is done lol Peace and Love everyone 🐕🦮🐕🦺🐕🦺🦮🐕🐶🐿🐧🐻❄️⛄️☃️⛄️☃️⛄️☃️🥾🥾🥾🥾🧢🧤🧣🧦🧦

@@primalengland think of a Snowman, but a 3ft snow angel haha with cowboy hat. Used walking stick to play Noughts and Crosses in the snow 😂. Not on paper lol. Have a great Friday Nigel ❤❤❤😁
I like getting up early, before the world is awake to work in the peace and solitude of my woodshop. I like the feeling for a brief time of being the only person in the world. I cherish it, it is my time. I also like to hike alone into the woods, find a nice spot to set up my little twig stove and cook something like bacon and bannock or just have a cup of coffee.
Every tomorrow belongs to God. If He feels that you are deserving, He will give you a tomorrow. For now, enjoy what He has already given you, a today. Thank you, Nigel, and a little pat on the head for Molly.
Thank you. Arthur. I really do love first thing every morning. There’s something special about knowing you’ve been granted a whole fresh day. It’s a huge privilege.
I love that sound of boots crunching in the snow ❤ It’s been a good few years since we had that pleasure here in South Cornwall. Thanks for taking me out into the snowy countryside 😊
@@primalengland We spent 3 weeks in Cornwall in April once. My family would always prefer that! It was quite a colourful mosaic of spring days - from stormy parking lots on the cliff with tea bags flying out of steamy cars, heavy rain and soaking wet footpaths to lush green jungles, hot beach days and icy plunges next to Neopren-clad grey-braided surfers and educational industrial history walks! And of course, I made my 9 year old daughter play her recorder on Glastonbury Tor!🙄🥹 I would never have thought you were the Rosamunde Pilcher Cornwall type, but then, given you fancy those flowery dresses ...🤔😂 🪷
Thanks Nigel. It's wonderful to see you and Molly in the snow. I never liked to walk with other people. I was always better on my own. Friends thought I was being antisocial but I wasn't. I needed my own rhythm. Nothing has changed in that respect.
I'm attempting to live a slow, relaxing life, as much as I can with three teenagers and a 5yr old in the house. 😂 I'm 40 this year and have had enough of the rush and stresses that life pushes at you. I've had a lot of stress last few years and plan to spend this year fixing myself, physically and mentally. Found your videos recently and they're helping remind me to keep on track so thank you for making them.
I seriously started living a slower, more peaceful lifestyle at about 40. Before that I’d spent most of my spare time walking and climbing in the Lake District, and I worked in the countryside, so it was a good jumping off point. I couldn’t be happier, and my lifestyle has helped me through a couple of major health issues over the past 20 years. Getting away from stress and consumerism is well worth it, even in a family environment. ❤️
Yay! I somehow managed to implement a walk around the block into my morning, when the kids were at school! 8 o'clock, when the breakfast rush was over and the work and school traffic was over. It was so quiet and peaceful in our neighborhood! That time was when I could listen to the birds in the trees and get a positive start into my day! Today I still do it sometimes, but have changed to afternoon or early evening! My husband takes a walk around the block at night before bed! During lockdown he started 'walking the kids' at 10.30! I found, doing a short walk regularly, and sometimes even escaping the chaos for just 15 minutes, I would often go two or three times a day for a 1600 step reset walk! Rain or shine! It really calms the mind!
Excellent lesson, Nigel. I am going to share this with a group of men who have suffered mental health issues throughout their lives as it will definitely help them.
We are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow tonight. I plan to play in the snow with my dog and make snow ice cream like my dad made for my sister and me when we were young. I will try breathing with the timing of my boots crunching the snow. I love the sound of boots crunching!! Thank you for the wisdom and for sharing Molly and the scenery.
Hello Nigel. I am struggling to empty my mind, so I will try and sit in a chair each morning like you do. I will venture out for a walk in the afternoon. I have to slow down my walk and not let other people control my speed. Am learning from you. Love viewing your countryside. Waiting for the buds of spring to appear. Bless you and hugs for Molly.
You're an excellent role model for all of us, and given your health challenges, age, and the cold and snow where it can be slippery, you're out there giving us daily insight towards greater peace and tranquility.

I moved from Adlington not long ago. I’ve never lived in a city. I get what you’re saying, and understand it. I’ve lived and worked in countryside situations for all my adult life after moving away from Leigh. I just find my peace in the countryside. Each to their own. Great profile pic, by the way. My favourite film. Colin Welland, who played Mr Farthing was a teacher at my school in Leigh.
Hi Nigel. Your filming of the countryside from four minutes into the video is wonderful. The bare trees are so beautiful against the snow and Molly clearly having a lovely day. And you chose beautiful music too. You're an artist as well as a philosopher Nigel! Still waiting for snow in Edinburgh! Peace and love.
Hello Nigel, I find myself doing the 'in-one-two, out-one-two' subconsciously whenever I'm out on a (rare) solo stroll and, as you say, it's very calming. I've never consciously meditated but I have some idea of what you're talking about when you discuss sitting down and thinking about a white sheet. I need to be out of doors on a chair or bench and I can drift off into another world. To paraphrase Winnie The Pooh, “Sometimes,” he said, “I sits and thinks, and other times I just sits.” Cheers 👍
At the moment I have to adjust my walking as everywhere is all icy and I have to try and choose my route so I can avoid people and hills as everyone is trying to rush about in cars and leaving the ones that walk to use iced footpaths....I want to get back to nature with the dog 🙂

Hi Nigel you look lovely in your winter clothes My new year goal is to learn to swim as an adult never learned when i was young I have already booked in for the adult swimming lessons My goal is to be able to swim up and down the pool by summer
I’m sure you will achieve your goal by summer if not before. I learned very young. We had school lessons at the pool. I can’t imagine them doing that any more. 😊❤️
One of my first remembrances - my dad teaching my small voluptuous Omi how to swim. It was a pool on a Danish camp site in the 70ies and she had our tiny swim wings on her arms and a swim ring pretending to swim, always standing on the tip of her toes hopping through the pool like a ballerina! Of course my dad noticed, he was a teacher - and that was, what he was doing with 30+ kids each year. We all had so much fun, and eventually she let go of those tiny winglets on her arms and then our Omi of 7 grand kids swam and we all controlled that she wasn't cheating 😂 Have fun in the water and enjoy escaping the drag of gravity! 🤽🏼♀️
@LauraSnow-in3nx I think cleaning is good for the mind. It makes you be in control of your actions at that moment and makes you "be in the zone" in a way. I feel the same whenever I work on my art. It's sort of like I'm leaving the real world for a while and going off into another world. Then eventually I have to return though 😕
Not at all. I find I’m most at peace when I’m actually doing something, usually something repetitive and not too taxing. I think it just adds to that feeling of getting away from the world outside, and isolating yourself in you, and what you choose to do. ❤️
Like that actually I don’t see you as an old doggy at all 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉uh legendary lessons I’ve had 6 weeks off work work start back Monday : let’s hope it’s not all a bunfight - thinking nice walk at lunch time 🙏🏼

Of course my dad noticed, he was a teacher - and that was, what he was doing with 30+ kids each year. We all had so much fun, and eventually she let go of those tiny winglets on her arms and then our Omi of 7 grand kids swam and we all controlled that she wasn't cheating 😂
Have fun in the water and enjoy escaping the drag of gravity!

Is it weird that yesterday when I was cleaning my pitching, I actually felt peaceful?
@LauraSnow-in3nx I think cleaning is good for the mind. It makes you be in control of your actions at that moment and makes you "be in the zone" in a way.
I feel the same whenever I work on my art. It's sort of like I'm leaving the real world for a while and going off into another world.
Then eventually I have to return though 😕
I know what you mean
Yesterday I took down the Christmas decorations and had a good clean up yes I too felt peaceful
Sweeping, I love sweeping the patio. Easily pleased😂 ❤
Not at all. I find I’m most at peace when I’m actually doing something, usually something repetitive and not too taxing. I think it just adds to that feeling of getting away from the world outside, and isolating yourself in you, and what you choose to do. ❤️
I cleaned all the silly Snow Spray off Windows today 😂 very calming, watching the young girls having Snowball fight ❤😂
Like that actually I don’t see you as an old doggy at all 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉uh legendary lessons I’ve had 6 weeks off work work start back Monday : let’s hope it’s not all a bunfight - thinking nice walk at lunch time 🙏🏼
Ha! Thank you. Six weeks…… might be a bit of a culture shock. I’m sure you’ll assimilate like a boss.
Your videos are so helpful to me,thankyou
Thank you, Rebecca. ❤️
Up rivington?
Yep, well, down by the Reservoir. Not too many humans today.
Dogs already have a coat
They do. Molly has never complained to me. And she complains a lot.
Not nice when it turns to slush! 😂
