Slurry is formed by mixing cowdung with water which has oxygen in it. Then how can the anaerobic process be achieved in digester? Am I missing something?.

I'm late on this question but I'm pretty sure that a big part of the oxygen in the water is taken away before the mixture by boiling it intensively

The slurry will contain both aerobic and anaerobic bacteria. The aerobic bacteria use up the available oxygen and then die off or go dormant. The anaerobic bacteria take off from there and begin producing methane. This is part of the reason that biogas reactors take a few days to begin producing.
