Didn't you hear that Craig died trying to smuggle Cambodian lady boys back to Australia. The boat sank while he was testing the merchandise. He went down with the ship.
02:01 Could your opponent straight ankle lock you from that standing position. Or alternatively could you straight ankle lock him from below?? Asking in case this can be used in a white belt competition.
Yea I was wondering about this as well since Ive had ppl just try to rip ankle locks wherever they can get that grip. Is there a downside in hiding that foot on the inside (behind opponents secondary knee) ?
He can definitely try. Locking your feet on the outside like this will always be vulnerable to counter leg locks. Locking your legs like this is a judgement call: - If you assess that your opponent is more likely to run away from the leg lock, reaping with the feet on the outside makes it harder for them to slip out. - If you think that they are more likely to counter leg lock you, hiding your foot on the inside position (I.E: behind their knee, under their butt) is the safer option. Nicky is objectively a better leg locker than Kody, so I think he made the perfect call in this situation.
@@saulmartin8469 Vs people spinning out or posting on your leg and clearing the knee line, it can sometimes be a little bit easier for them to slip their knee out. It is also a bit harder to transition to outside ashi or 50/50 (depending on your opp's reaction).

@@MadshGrappling does hiding the foot behind their knee or butt have any downsides? If not, I guess that is the better option maybe?
