No matter how your views are on Socialism or Communism, they made really good music. And on a historcal note: It makes sense, because the industrialised world and the workers were constantly exploited to the fullest and they frankly had enough of this. Today its rather misplaced especially in Germany were we have "Soziale Marktwirtschaft" which is Capitalism combined and restricted by the great ideas off these workers who just wanted to have a better work life. Also its funny, that quite possibly without the most reactionary politician Germany ever had (and the best in my opinion), because he gave in to the Socialist demands and because off that we have it embeded in our country now. Just like basic and mandatory healthcare securing a stable and rich country :D And anyone who dismisses and hates early united Germany dismisses also the foundation we are build on today.

The language of a song with vocals usually refers to the language in which it's written and not the country where it came from. And since Germans and Austrians speak the same language, this is clearly german song.
