Climate change or Judgement
It's neither. It's greedy developers paving everything over-the water has nowhere to go. This rain was not worse than Harvey and other rains before, yet I saw a lot of streets underwater that had never flooded before. Which may very well put judgement into the equation-We reap what we sow.
I believe that's out by the airport and that's a low area anyway.

It is nice to live close to the water front, but it will not be fun when the water front became river.
Insurance companies aren't required to sell insurance. They will just pull out of high risk areas.
Eventually, it's going to end up a government insurance program and the GOP will fight it at every turn.
People need to move out of disaster areas. One lady said it was the 2nd time in 3 months she flooded. Move lady Jesus lol.

Flooding only happens when you live or build at or below the historic high water mark. The earth has been warming and the sea levels have been rising for the last 20,000 years, ever since the Last Glacial Maximum. Flooding happens when you ignore history.

What would be the reason? What would the government be getting out of causing catastrophic weather disasters?
When there is a disaster, the local, state and federal government spends billions of dollars on recovery and clean up, so what would the government reasoning be to cause weather catastrophes if they're just going to spend billions of dollars after the occurrence? Why would the government choose a flood prone area to create a man made weather disaster? Would it not make more sense to just wait for the inevitable flooding and/or hurricane? Especially when you consider that most flood insurance is government issued because private insurance carriers won't insure flood prone areas, the government then has insurance claims to pay in addition to the disaster funds they spend. What wouldthe government be getting out of it?
