    Love how you clarified which headphone is better for hip hop and r&b. Reviewers don’t mention this genre of music enough during their reviews.

    Loved the sleek review! Question, which Focal have the best dynamics and slam? (comparing all the Focals you heard of)

      In my opinion the Utopia has the best punch and fastest dynamics. If you give them a little bump in bass with EQ, Tone control or find the perfect tube amp they are incredible! ***Marcello TSAV

      @@TheSourceAVDesignGroup Damn I was hoping you didn’t say that because I would be broke lol. Im guessing Stellia would punch the hardest for a closed back Focal as well? Anyway thank you Marcello, looking forward to the MM 500 vs LCD X!

      @does the celeste or elegia (slam)punch as hard as the utopia or they are far behind?
      Since i can’t afford the utopia

      @@ahmadmatar2698 Hello Mate, I see you posted your question 9 months ago so you might have already bought some headphones. But if not... I would go with the Focal Clear MG - if that is in your budget. I have the Utopia but if my budget didn't stretch as far as the Utopias I would certainly buy the Clear MG - they are very good and have a very decent slam as well as technically sounding very good.

    I find this comparison interesting as, to me, closed back and open back headphones generally have different characteristics and use cases. Maybe I'm wrong there, but I generally find open back headphones to be better than a similar closed back in almost every way... yet, there are situations where you kind of *need* a closed back (either isolating *your* sounds from others, or isolating *exterior* sounds from what you are listening to). I just bought the Stellia (didn't receive it yet) and was thinking about *also* buying the Utopia. Again, for me, two different use cases mostly.
    I suppose my biggest question is: For open back, is there a different headphone you might recommend more than the Utopia? I have the Focal Clear Pro (OG) and the Hifiman He1000 V2. I also have the Audeze LCD-X and am really not a big fan of it (may sell it). Also looking at the Meze Emporean and considering other open backs. Thoughts? Is the Utopia different enough from the Clear??

      It depends on what sound signature you are going for. Yeah, I think the Utopia is different enough from the Focal Clear but if you already have the Stellia and Clear you may want to dabble in another manufacturer. Personally, I am a big fan of the Meze Elite and the Empyrean the later especially for electronic music the Elite is the more balanced of the two imo. Here are links to both, and you can always message us through the website or call during store hours if you have any questions too. We offer a trade up program and will price match. Elite:👉 thesourceav.com/products/meze-audio-elite
      Empy: 👉thesourceav.com/products/meze-audio-empyrean I hope this helps some! Let me know if you have any other questions happy to help ***Marcello TSAV @Tim Federwitz

      @@TheSourceAVDesignGroup thanks so much for the reply! After commenting, I started to do a little more research on the Empyrean and am now leaning pretty hard in that direction. I do listen to a lot of EDM and am even starting to learn how to produce it myself with Ableton Live 11 Suite... so I think you just clinched it for me! LOL... as you said, I have some more analytical headphones already, so the Empy for that more fun and engaging listen sounds appealing to me. Plus, I adore the black and copper colorway and amazing design of that headphone. Thanks again!

      @@TheSourceAVDesignGroup A great man once said, “There are NO dumb questions.” So here are 2 for you: #1. WHY doesn’t Focal burn-in all their phones BEFORE they package them for shipping? #2. If the Focal burn-in time is 30 hours (?) is it safer to start them off with low volume music (ambient) until they clear their burn-in time?

    • @MartinManweiler
      @MartinManweiler Рік тому

      @@spiritualarchitect4276 It would cost too much to burn them in most likely and I would imagine just listening to any music at a reasonable volume should be fine.
