Buddy Rich said something like, “I dont practice, I just play!” I like that philosophy but I don’t think it’s a good way to become a good musician quickly, and you may be likely to form bad habits. However, I’m in this mostly to have fun, so I mostly play. I think you can integrate practice into play. But if you want to be a pro, gotta practice those scales and learn that theory!
That’s mostly what I do. I consider it more playing than practicing though But if you can’t read music, or the chart doesn’t give much instruction, you kinda have to practice that way. Nothing beats playing with other people, but not sure what to do to practice for using a click track live; I hate the click!
@honkytonkinson9787 yes it's not exactly practice. Practicing for rehersal us not exactly practice either. But I find parts I'd like to play and practice that, so it is helpful.
I thought i had seen you playing a Tele in the Paul Kype band. Have you seen that? Guy looks just like you. I was like, is that Dylan from Dylan talks tone? Lol 😂

Practice with recorded music is excellent. I got to a point that I could add other parts. Give it a try.

I'm not old, I'm vintage!
I practice for rehersal. Then, after rehersal, I practice the parts we decide I am asked to play.

Either Gibson or PRS attempted to rip off Zither stand's copywrite. I am not sure with one.
It was Gibson
Off topic = off program , thanks for 15 minutes at least.😂
Your Q&A is long! I see the time frame and pass it up, short attention span I guess. Best wishes
