In your screenshot of the play for the video, you can CLEARLY see the tail end of the RG Kappa for the Bengals grabbing hold of Travis Jones (?) jersey and pulling him down to the ground on the play after he bulldozes through him. That’s clearly a hold that leads to the inadvertent contact to the facemask. It was a good no call. And hold? It’s within the first 5 yards of the LOS. You’re allowed to press. They double pressed Mike Gesicki and beat him up, but didn’t impede his route by holding him. He then proceeded to flop and ask for a call. Lastly there was a facemask on this drive, yet all of that should have been negated. The Bengals failed to get the 1st down on that 4th and goal play earlier in the drive. The 40 yard line was the line to reach after the kickoff. They needed EXACTLY the 40 yard line. You could see down the line with the camera at the sticks that the runners knee comes down and the ball never crosses the threshold of the 40 yard line. That cost the Ravens their 100 yd rushing streak. Ravens get the turnover on downs and Bengals have 1 timeout. Ravens would HAVE to run the football to force the wasted timeout. They probably run one more run before being able to kneel.
@@Crusader35 Correct me if I’m wrong, but are you allowed to drag the opposing defensive lineman down with a handful of his jersey? Are those not also the rules? No, you do not understand the rules and more than that you do not understand the point that is being made. If you want the refs to hand the game to your team, then say so, otherwise them not calling roughing the passer, nor the clear and obvious holding call that led to the roughing the passer, was ultimately the right decision. @MrChillguy7 so anybody that blows a lead deserves to be screwed over by refs??? Corniest shit I ever heard . Call a fair game no matter what the score is or was .it's ruining the integrity of the game. @allenbraun7300 except I don't care who wins or loses so your last point is moot. All im saying is yes bad calls and no calls exist but you can't solely place the blame on the officials when you lose the game. A blown 14 point lead is all on the Bengals not the refs. But people would rather focus too much on refball and not their own performance. I remember the eagles complaining in the last superbowl about that holding call...but fail to mention their defense and special teams sold hard in the second half too but they'd rather single out that one tacky call and not the fact the chiefs scored on every possession. The bengals shouldn't even have been at the goal line. The refs helped them move the ball this game, especially that last drive. They also was holding KVN that play, and it wasn't called. It's called KARMA

That two point try was such a poorly designed play I"m glad the bengals didn't get the call. If you're running a two point conversion you need to have a better designed play than whatever that was. Just kick the extra point if you're going to run trash like that
I'm a Detroit Lions fan since the late 80s and I can relate to this. On the Bengals behalf there was a few calls that weren't called that was blatant and two of them were the lineman smacking and face mask Joe burrow on crucial Downs and then the non-call on the blatant holding on that last four down play was brutal too
They didnt lose the game because of the no call. That had zero impact on the actual play because Burrow wasn't throwing to Gesicki anyway. They lost because of the mind-boggling decision to not throw to Chase in single coverage.
How are you not even mentioning the CLEAR pass interference on the DB who has his hands around the intended receivers waste, pulling him down well before the ball arrives? Yet you noticed the two weak infractions instead LOL 😂
Dude, that happens all the time. DBs routinely make contact with the receiver just before the ball gets there and it’s never ever called. I agree that it should be in general, but since it’s not, there’s no reason for it to be called here either.
Ravens had 11 penalties. They were penalized on the final drive that got the Bengals in scoring position . Let’s not act like the Ravens got Chiefs level treatment tonight because of no-call
Offensive player initiated the contact and flopped looking for a defensive hold, there was no roughing the passer, and contact is allowed between receiver and defender inside of 5 yards

"The ball was already thrown" I'm not a Bengals fan but dude you have to know a hit to the head of a QB is supposed to be a penalty ever time. 😂😂😂😂 if your gonna be a fan, be a fan dude! This comment makes you look ignorant.
I disagree on both counts. 88, I don't see how this is a hold? Just a couple of people got their arms locked. Facemask, the hand was up to intercept the ball and the facemask pull happened after the ball was out of Burrow's hands so I'm probably in the minority that it doesn't affect the outcome of the play. Just an unlucky path the hand took afterwards.
@@drumagus2258 Okay so? Go on. What rules are there to discuss? I'm saying the discussed items doesn't affect the result of the play, they just give an unfair advantage to the Bengals if they allow a second 2-pt try for the Bengals. I don't see how bringing in rules changes this fact.
The receiver on the two point try was hit early also ! I've been saying it for years and it's way more evident in games today, especially isolated games, that the NFL rigs games every week. I don't know how anyone can even begin to dispute it ?
Agreed- penalty: illegal contact to head of QB - by #62 of offense. #62 redirected the defenders hand by holding while falling backwards causing the defender hit QB face mask instead of ball. 15 yard penalty on offense, $5000 fine, and play is under further review for intentional targeting
It's for the good of the game that the hold on Gesicki wasn't called. That's a European football level flop and it should not be in the NFL. Keep that shit out of the game.
The flag was not thrown for a face mask penalty because.......unintentional or "incidental" contact with an opponent's facemask or helmet while making a standard tackle or block is not considered a penalty, as long as it is not the primary point of contact or done with excessive force
@allenbraun7300 If it wasn't even close, then why was it reviewed? I'm ok with the refs placing it where they thought (nose just touching the line) and not overturning anything, but at that point in a game like this, why are the chains not brought out to measure?
At the end of the day - if Burrow doesn't overthrow the receiver and he catches the ball, it's likely a touchdown there. Neither of the potential penalties would have affected the play - Burrow started down his receiver and still overthrew the ball and that's what ultimately lost them the game.
Now I 100% believe these were flags and bad miscalls. We can't have it both ways and say, "Let them play it out" if we want them to call that. What a game. Edit: I'm talking about the holding, not the facemask.
Illegal hands to the face on KVN the same play, yet know one mentions that. This is all just sour grapes. The Ravens were flagged 11 times as it is and the Bengals still couldnt win. The Bengals also got a bogus 4th down conversion on the same drive, and two clock stops to save the 3rd TO that they didnt earn. One with Zay fighting to stay in bounds and the other with Chase Brown's knee going down in bounds. The refs incorrectly stopped the clock on both plays. This would have forced Cincy to use their final timeout sooner, and would have subsequently cause a ~35 second swing on the game clock. Blame the refs all you want for not throwing a flag, but the refs were the main reason Cincy even had a chance to win at the end. Just hold the L and move on.
Alot of people didnt watch the game and are dumb af. 11-3 . Bengals were gifted first downs on BS flags. They cried every time a pass hit the ground. 2 holds on the O line on the last play. Bengals were getting glazed by the reffs and commentators all night then they cry when the reffs finally decide to eat the whistle and let em play 😂😂
No player shall grasp and control, twist, turn, push, or pull the facemask of an opponent in any direction. Note: If a player grasps an opponent's facemask, he must immediately release it. If he does not immediately release it and controls his opponent, it is a foul.
Neither of these "fouls" affected the play. They shouldn't have been there anyway, the Bengals were 1ft short on 4th and 10. Also a phantom holding call on Chase in 1st quarter on 4th down that led to chase brown td.
I honestly don’t think anyone understand that this is not holding call because the defender jammed him up at the line he has not made it up the field from the line of scrimmage in that sense he’s almost a blocker rather than a receiver
Yeah man. Hand to the face is because of holding and being pulled to the ground, good no call, the play was never going to the backside, he never even looked that way. Call it if you want because it's a hold but it had nothing to do with the play.
They missed 2 play impeding calls on the same fricken play! I was surprised how poor that was. I don't believe the fix is in but letting betting this close to the game again is beyond stupid! Missed game ending calls is becoming an obvious issue. Another similar situation and trust will be gone.
I thought the NFL was finished with this after the Saints ended Kurt Warner and Bret Farve's careers. But apparently Sam Darnold and other QBs get fouled, no possibility of challenge and the refs just keep doing it. The player, ref and booth review should all lose a game check over this crap
Gesicki was crying all game. The only thing I saw was Gesicki flopping he was the one that hooked Simpson and then flopped. If thats what you want the Refs to call then call the Bengals Right tackle for holding on the same play. Stop crying. That had nothing to do with the fact they failed to convert and neither did the Tap on the facemask.

Bro, you don't understand the rules. AT no time are you allowed to make contact with an opponents face mask.....inadvertent contact doesn't apply.
Preach
@@Crusader35
Correct me if I’m wrong, but are you allowed to drag the opposing defensive lineman down with a handful of his jersey? Are those not also the rules? Was that not a holding call that went uncalled on that plate as well? Did that uncalled holding penalty result in the inadvertent contact to the facemask?
No, you do not understand the rules and more than that you do not understand the point that is being made. The point is that there were two offsetting penalties on that play, and as opposed to putting the game in the hands of the refs, what I am saying is that I would much rather the game be put in the hands of the players. If you want the refs to hand the game to your team, then say so, otherwise them not calling roughing the passer, nor the clear and obvious holding call that led to the roughing the passer, was ultimately the right decision. If you disagree, then you can always be like Mike Gesicki and whine harder.
@@Diamondbull My man I have ZERO interest in the game period. Bottom line is you can NOT make contact with someone's face mask and especially not a QB. Holding between the tackles happens on almost every other play, if it was called by the book the game would last 5 hours and kill the product. Also, there was definitely a HOLD on the WR/TE.
@@Crusader35definitely wasn't a hold on the TE.
It hurt my heart to loose like this. While I don't think this is the only reason we lost. This was inexcusable to miss a call like that and the holding call.
We really lost because of poor play calling. And our defense cant make a stop if their life depended on it
How about the 4th down conversion to Iosivas that wasn’t a catch.
it was a good no call. it didn’t affect the outcome. make them earn it.
Make the Ravens follow the rules.
Didn’t affect the outcome??? That call would’ve given us another chance from closer, that call completely affected the outcome
@@DavidHanley-s3s I think he means the outcome of the play not the game
2 facemasks and holding on last drive didnt effect the game, right....
1. Bengals right tackle is clearly holding on this play.
2. on the first drive of the game Bengals got bailed out with a bad defensive holding call that lead to a free touchdown.
3. Actually, this entire final drive for the bengals was mostly penalty yards.
4. The refs swallow the whistle on plays like this at the end of the game, Burrow acknowledged that post game. Both the defense and offense are not expecting to be flagged in these situations and should play accordingly.
We had so many calls go against us this game, like that RIDICULOUS 4th down where the refs handed them a conversion. I’ll take this one as payment.
Exactly! If they're getting that 4th down conversion, we should be getting the Stephens INT.
@@jonnyl.a.4169that was not an INT. Slow mo showed his foot was out of bounds.

@@DavidHanley-s3sif that was a first down then Lamar’s run should of been a touchdown. Knee was down and the ball was behind the line. Got to be consistent
And if we want to talk about holding, holy shit the amount of times bengals ol held the ravens dl and never got called is comical
Ravens running back got face masked on 3rd down that wasn’t called. Also had to punt on an illegal man downfield, and he wasn’t downfield. Gave the Bengals a 4th down catch that wasn’t called t a catch. Take the emotion out. And the Bengals got all the major calls. I watched the game
Because it’s within five yards and the receiver initiated the contact and also over sold the call . Refs bailed Bungals out plenty enough . Stop whining and play football
Exactly bro lol i almost thought i was the only one with common sense here in this comment section
Agreed on the over sell by the receiver. Oscar worthy performance there folks. You sold me on the fact that you were even ready to accept a one-handed catch. . . while looking in the complete opposite direction! But wait there's more! You even did the famous flop that every Oscar worthy performer on the pitch does!
It's uncanny how much you make soccer players look like amateurs with your flop performance.
Except they’ve lost 2 games this season to bad calls.
It's hands to the face
100%. Within 5 yds, and If it was a run Gieseki would have been holding there.
Most importantly there should be a zero tolerance policy for flopping!!! The flopper should get 15yds unsportsmanlike. 2nd strike in a season = ejection from the game 3rd strike should end his season.
Zero Tolerance!
70s guys woulda just stomped his neck
That was holding on the o lineman pulling Jones down to hit him in the face mask
I don't like either team but yes the Refs clearly missed TE Gisecki being held and QB Burrow's facemask being grabbed, absolutely horrible officiating on the 2pt. conversion at the end of game!!
And d had hands wrapped at 1:17 Ball still on way

Hey that was self defense
Refs were just bad overall last night. I thought Iosivas was short on 4th down, his knee hit the ground before the ball went over the 40, but the other missed face mask call on Burrow a play or two before cancels that out in terms of fairness. Just had to point out the other missed calls. Overall a poorly officiated game, especially in the 4th qtr
Are the bengals going to blame refs for them blowing 14 points lead.
Doesn't matter....
@@allenbraun7300it does matter. Dont blow the lead and you won't end up in this situation.
@MrChillguy7 so anybody that blows a lead deserves to be screwed over by refs??? Corniest shit I ever heard . Call a fair game no matter what the score is or was .it's ruining the integrity of the game. So if Ravens are playing Chiefs and Baltimore has a huge lead and chiefs come back and refs screw Baltimore over at the end you would be. Saying something different I promise
Tldr don't choke a lead next time
@allenbraun7300 You right. Call a fair game. They gave the Bengals every phantom whistle imagined and yall crying about them letting them play even tho it was 2 holds on the Bengals offensive line 😂

It’s so hard to watch these games when refs aren’t consistent
How do you not also mention Hudson clearly getting contacted (hugged) early. That was clear pass interference. And actually the most obvious call in real time.
Hudson getting mugged and burrow getting punched in the face. Those are flag and police report worthy plays😂. (This is a joke. Don’t take it seriously) but these misses were terrible
Wasnt a facemask as he didnt tug it. Learn the rules.
Wasnt pass interference (itd be holding anyway, but what do you know) as it was within 5 yards and was not held.
@@JacaboBlanco Ok, contact to the head which is called every time these days on a QB. And it was an obvious hold, dummy. Also, an obvious early contact interference on the targeted receiver Hudson. That two point try was such a poorly designed play I"m glad the bengals didn't get the call. If you're running a two point conversion you need to have a better designed play than whatever that was. Just kick the extra point if you're going to run trash like that
Did they actually get the fourth and ten conversion?
Late 4th quarter 2-point conversion attempts & Hail Mary passes get the same treatment from refs: "Don't look, don't flag"
I'm a Detroit Lions fan since the late 80s and I can relate to this. On the Bengals behalf there was a few calls that weren't called that was blatant and two of them were the lineman smacking and face mask Joe burrow on crucial Downs and then the non-call on the blatant holding on that last four down play was brutal too
Yeah but bro never talks about the chiefs always getting bailed out 😂😂😂😂😂
They didnt lose the game because of the no call.
Around his "waste"? Yuck.
He was haming it up to try and get a third call for cincy
Dude, that happens all the time. DBs routinely make contact with the receiver just before the ball gets there and it’s never ever called. I agree that it should be in general, but since it’s not, there’s no reason for it to be called here either.

Just an unlucky path the hand took afterwards.
you dont know the rules tho.
The thing that really makes fans mad is certain QBs get all the calls
Not only the burrow no call but Gisecki was held
The receiver on the two point try was hit early also ! I've been saying it for years and it's way more evident in games today, especially isolated games, that the NFL rigs games every week. I don't know how anyone can even begin to dispute it ?
That was not a hold on gesicki
Chase was open and anyone who plays football knows he had inside leverage and the speed to shield off. Anyways great game entertainment wise.
Agreed- penalty: illegal contact to head of QB - by #62 of offense. #62 redirected the defenders hand by holding while falling backwards causing the defender hit QB face mask instead of ball. 15 yard penalty on offense, $5000 fine, and play is under further review for intentional targeting
The Bengals receiver was being pulled down by both arms of the defensive back while he was jumping for the catch ! That was the missed call.
Ain’t gone lie.. I’m a ravens fan and even I was a lil shocked at the non-calls 👀
Burrow got face masked twice this game as well as hit late. Ravens got lucky as hell this game. Both teams of course have flukey defenses.

what about the 4th down spot in the 4th, bengals were short and was given a good spot.
@@christopherbrown5370 that was a first down. His knee was down and ball was on line. It was reviewed.. not even close to being short
@allenbraun7300 If it wasn't even close, then why was it reviewed? I'm ok with the refs placing it where they thought (nose just touching the line) and not overturning anything, but at that point in a game like this, why are the chains not brought out to measure?
@@AB-lg7wy it was reviewed to see if he got to line not if he caught it. There's a picture of him with ball In hands and knee down
At the end of the day - if Burrow doesn't overthrow the receiver and he catches the ball, it's likely a touchdown there.
The refs need to be held accountable!
The Ravens defender was pulled down by his jersey, resulting in the hand to Burrows face mask. Clear as day holding by the Bengals lineman.
For Ravens, but I agree no call bad officiating.
No player shall grasp and control, twist, turn, push, or pull the facemask of an opponent in any direction. Note: If a player grasps an opponent's facemask, he must immediately release it. If he does not immediately release it and controls his opponent, it is a foul.
Bruh, we can talk about the illegal hand to the face all day but that is absolutely not a hold lol
Neither of these "fouls" affected the play.
They shouldn't have been there anyway, the Bengals were 1ft short on 4th and 10. Also a phantom holding call on Chase in 1st quarter on 4th down that led to chase brown td.
#88 should be suspended! This isn't soccer! Kudos to the refs for not falling for that ridiculous flop.
Why can’t the NFL have an appeal system for calls like these? They do it in cricket and it works like a charm. Doesn’t cause any delay of game.
@@VaidyKrishnan1 because you can’t challenge a no call, people would just do that every big play to try and find a penalty to negate it
@ excellent point. But the way cricket counters that situation is they give you a max of three such challenges in a game. Football could do the same.
Cincinnati done been on a lot of bad controversial calls especially against the Chiefs
They missed 2 play impeding calls on the same fricken play! I was surprised how poor that was. I don't believe the fix is in but letting betting this close to the game again is beyond stupid! Missed game ending calls is becoming an obvious issue. Another similar situation and trust will be gone.
Every week you see these errors. It's ridiculous at this point.
NFL officiating has definitely declined. All the coaches and players want is constancy...a penalty in the 1st quarter is a penalty in the 4th.
I thought the NFL was finished with this after the Saints ended Kurt Warner and Bret Farve's careers. But apparently Sam Darnold and other QBs get fouled, no possibility of challenge and the refs just keep doing it. The player, ref and booth review should all lose a game check over this crap
It's just brutal how often this team has lost this way. NFL refs are the worst in all of sports, they can't get it right
with all of todays technology, cameras, instant replay, they need to do away with human referees.
Ask Sam Darnold how he feels with a no call. We know how bengals fans feel
The Bengals lost this game without any help from the refs. The Ravens beat them fair and square.
Let the players play the game. Don’t call every tiny call that fans get bent out of shape over. These are men playing a man’s game. You don’t hear them crying over those tiny infractions. Quit trying to turn the NFL into a flag football league. LET THE PLAYERS PLAY.
