Nice video. Was looking at a VIOFO but then saw this! I like the integrated look and easy wiring. After using it, do you like the overall video quality compared to the VIOFO?
Thank you! The video quality is quite good in the Fitcamx. The integrated design and the hidden wiring is what makes this dashcam a better option for the Volvo in my opinion.
I will list two things i noticed with mine. can you share your thoughts as well. 1st: dash cam won’t turn off when you shut off engine and just leave the car parked and unlocked. Fitcam support says it will just turn off after 15mins. I find that too long. And it might drain the car battery. 2nd: dash cam heats up when its turned on. You can feel its warm when you touch it. Too hot for normal usage i think.

Does disconnecting this cord from the original hub disable some of Volvo's safety features (lane-assist, auto-brake on collision, adaptive cruse-control)? What is this power cord power when connected per the original Volvo design?
No, it doesn't affect the Volvo's safety features. Fitcamx dashcam gets connected in parallel to the anti-glare rearview mirror plug. This way both the mirror and the dashcam get the power at the same time.
@MorozovAutomotive I'm also curious about this power cord because I'd like to run a T-splitter with USB out in order to power a Garmin mini 2. What is the T-splitter type? It looks like some type of 6-pin but I haven't had luck finding something similar online.
Many Dash Cams in the market have Image Stabilization and 60 fps but this doesn't. Do you think they are important? And why you didn't choose the 4K model?

Hi, we did not have any issues so far in the XC40. We installed Fitcamx dashcams in other vehicles as well and everything is working fine. We don't have a video for the XC40 but here is the video for the RAV4 in which we showed the operation of the safety features with the Fircamx dashcam installed in the vehicle. I bought this Dash cam and I have now been trying to remove the original green connector from the plug for more than an hour!!. I know I have to push on a little green lip and I can see were it is, but it's simply really difficult to reach with fingers, screwdriver and simultaneously pull the plug. VERY DIFFICULT to remove. I'm starting to regret the purchase already.
Does this camera save videos automatically to the SD card? The product description says the user has to save videos while the engine is ON. This is rather impractical as one may not be able to keep the engine running right after the collision. In other words, do videos get wiped off if the engine turns off?
You mean that videos will be automatically saved on the SD card without any required action from the user/driver, correct? What if the crash shuts off the engine - will the video recording get lost?

It is gorgeous with built-in alike but very poor quality. At 12:05 you just cannot see the Tesla plate but double vision of everything. If a dashcam doesn't allow you to see that Tesla plate, you just wasted money.

The 60 fps makes the image smoother. But 30 works quite well as well. 2K model is the only one that comes with the rear camera in the set.

XC40 does cut off the power to the dash cam soon after you lock the vehicle.

Videos are being saved automatically while camera receives the power. As soon as the power is off, it will stop recording.

It does, I believe it sets and keeps the time once you connect it with the smartphone using WiFi.
