Henry Cavill gets so much points for being an actor involved in "nerdy" projects that is an actual nerd. The fact so many interviewers struggle with this when they interview him speaks more negatively about OTHER actors/directors who arent if anything, as it's no wonder alot of those movies (based on games etc) tend to fail, as they arent familiar with the source material with any passion. I'd like to see at least one Henry interview acknowledge this, rather than "hur hur u grown man and you GaAamMmeE??? Har har"
I think the reason why so many movies based on games (usually video games) fail is because a game is way too big for a movie. A video game usually has a story line of at least 8-10 hours if its a short game up to hundreds of hours - and WAY more characters than the typical movie. Squeezing a 20 hour story and 50 characters into a 90 minute movie - that simply can't work, it's doomed to fail from the start. A TV show on the other hand....that's different and can work.
Really good point. People like graham cracker paint this picture like being a nerd was ever a bad thing. Small brains. Tell me how is knitting any better?
@@zachdeft1714 Books need very much time in order to explain scenery, looks, emotions and so on, movies and Videogames just show them. In Cinema the catch phrase "show don't tell" is often used, when people start explaining to much etc. which is the polar opposite of what happens in books, which obviously can't really show anything. Just take something like diagon alley from Harry Potter, you spent about thirty to forty minutes reading about it in the books where it is a 7 minute scene in the movie. None the less, i think video game movie adaptions tend to fail because most games which really have a great story rely on the gamers interaction and more often than not at least give the illusion of choice and influence by the gamer himself. Be it dialog choices or deciding which character should join you on a mission and what not. Threw that you get people much more involved in a story which can change the core structure on how the story is written as you perceive it quite differently than a movie.
For those looking for an answer to what is in Tom's room, someone said it is the umbrella from his lip sync battle. So I went and re-watched it and the shape and color of the handle matches the thing in the corner.

That's the difference between you and Henry, it seems. Henry rolls with it and knows Graham is hosting a show and digging for laughs--not at the actor's expense, but rather in support of all of them. Not overly sensitive about some good-natured ribbing, unlike others who spaz out and cry bully because they can't take a joke. Henry seems really cool and pleasant.

It’s a reminder that being a nerd doesn’t equate being a basement dweller or an outcast, and that’s nice for how it pushes the envelope and challenges people’s (and nerds’) assumptions about nerds.
It's kinda funny how Henry's hobbies and Tom and Zendaya's hobbies reflect each other's ages rather than their own: Henry's 38 and he's playing online video games, painting miniatures of his favourite game and building/customising his own gaming PC while Tom and Zendaya are 25 and Tom's doing jigsaws while Zendaya's knitting.
Fr Ikr Zendaya and Tom Holland's hobbies. Are like old ppl hobbies. When they're both only 25yrs old. Also Henry Cavill's hobbies. Are like young ppl hobbies when he is 38yrs old.

It's odd that you think people at 38 should be into knitting and jigsaws. They're not elderly. There's only 12 years between Henry and Tom, not 40. The fact that their interests are what they are shows how fluid these things are.

True, to me it shows things have already progressed a lot in terms of recognition of the value of pop culture , so we can hope things continue following that trend.
It's just so weird that people still think it's weird. Like there are people who sit around watching someone put on makeup while they talk about the zodiac murders or watch kids and adults lip synch their problems to music on tik tok. But miniatures is a weird hobby??
Henry is so cool about being open about his hobbies. He kinda reminds me of Christopher Lee in that way. Lee has a huge fan of Tolkien and would read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings books multiple times a year. He’d even carry around a copy of The Hobbit on set and help getting stuff right.

@@mafia5509 If you're looking to attract an american audience: Maybe 5-10am Central Standard Time for mornings / 11am-1pm CST for Lunch/ 3pm-9pm CST for evenings, I arranged the windows according to my timezone but left them broad enough to encapsulate the 3 time-zones used from east to west coast. Americans are generally opportunistic media consumers. Usually Watching vids during/surrounding a meal or before/ after school/work. Also near bed time. Everybody's different but it should give you a nice window to work with. God luck w/ your uploads.
@@HH-hd7nd then how to you explain movies based on books? isn't a book almost the same thing as a video game? ur argument has a flaw
Really good point. People like graham cracker paint this picture like being a nerd was ever a bad thing. Small brains. Tell me how is knitting any better?
Get him in a hot ones interview and you'll get what you wish for.
Henry Cavill and Tom Holland are both so relatable, one’s a nerdy gamer and the other has a similar sense of humour, they even sit the same 😂

I had to scroll for ages of people saying they love Henry just to find this. Thank you!

Henry Cavill is what we all wished we could become when we grew up but didnt. Yes I was a massive WOW nerd and a massive Warhammer geek who loved painting minis. Had interest in acting but being italian and moving to Brazil honestly never had the budget or incentive for it but I did dedicate a lot to working out and getting in shape so yeah a lot of parallels with the great Henry. Glad to see that a "version" of me that actually succeeded exists. Also, I love Graham but I thought he was a bit of a bully to Henry here. Didn't really like he's attitude towards he's obbies.
Graham is always like that, but I don't think he means bad at all.
