Some plastics sink quickly and others are more buoyant than others. Small adjustments to the weight makes a big difference. Hook size-wise, it depends on the backbone length of the plastic. Too long and it affects the action. I hope that helps

@@ShroomFishing Isn’t your Daiwa Exist reel magsealed though? It should be good to get a bit wet especially with some freshwater/rain water. Haha keen to see what reel you upgrade to when you eventually do it - I hear the new Daiwa Luvias Airly is quite good!
@Hai It is Hai, I think I was paranoid because that rain was seriously strong. The magseal is great but it isn't a waterproof mechanism. Water can still into the reel body but it's a plus for sure. Those Daiwa Luvias Airity's look like a piece of art 😋

As the rod bend unloads, it creates a sudden shock that sends slack line into the jighead and sometimes (often) it unseats it from the snag

Nice. Caught a few Luderick on lures over the years but never a Mullet, under rated sport fish.

Surprised mullet will take a lure. I've tried targeting them in the past but they are very hard to catch.

That's true David! Some 6lb is more reliable and stronger than others. It also has to do with thickness as not all 6lb is the same. 👍
