I dislike it when people call Lapis selfish. Of course she's a CG and became a good gem, but she's still Lapis. When she heard the diamonds were coming, I'm surprised that some people forget this is LAPIS we're talking about. She has PTSD from the war, she's terrified of getting stuck back in the mirror again. I think some people forgot that Lapis is still someone who fears a gem war, and it's not like she left without saying goodbye. She wanted Peri and Pumpkin to come with her, and respected their decision to stay but even though she loved them she was terrified. This doesn't make her a bad person, it shows some development in the character. I would have been disappointed if the Crewniverse made Lapis have no reaction to this news, of course I was heartbroken over her departure but not enough to call her selfish. Yes, she took the barn. I'm pretty sure she took though to have a reminder of Peridot, because half of her wanted to stay but was too scared. She could possibly have taken the barn to try and convince herself to return, trying to use it and the things inside to overcome her fear. Finally, during Reunited, she did. Sorry I get defensive over my Lappy.
EXACTLY. Finally, SOMEONE gets It! I have PTSD, myself, (undiagnosed, but that doesn't really make me any less valid) and that's probably one of the reasons I get so defensive over her, is because I can relate to her. But anyways, the thing is, I'm NOT selfish, but in some situations, thinking about things, i feel like I would leave everything behind, just so that I wouldn't have to go back. OF COURSE I would offer if people wanted to come with, like Lapis, but if they aren't coming, sorry, but I'm gone. No joke, I'm always thinking of plans to escape if I'm ever back in the same situation. (and no, i wasn't in prison, before you think that.) People just don't understand how unbelievable horrid it is to go through trauma, if they haven't, themself.
Ahhhh they're all so cute! I love how adorable and round you drew them, and the details are super clear without overwhelming the simple style. So so cute!
