Also the speaker isn't quite as good. I can live with that. Bluetooth speaker, nice phone case. Boom. Problem solved. Overall happy with my decision.

One issue I have had with my A71 5g is it shows that it is fast charging, but doesn't actually charge. @@TshakaArmstrong LOL! You're fun, Tshaka & I'm very glad that I found your video bcuz I thoroughly enjoyed watching it. I ventured off into the reviews matrix & now I can't get out, so I'm wondering if you wouldn't mind pointing me in the right direction bcuz trying to pick the right phone for my new needs, now, has become a bit daunting? Bcuz of the drastic societal changes, I need a good, decent phone that can handle my mobile business & multiple app usage...and capable of holding many apps, documents & pictures, something my current phone lacks. This will be the first time that I'm doing more with my phone than talk, text, play games, search internet or watch youtube. I definitely don't need a phone powerful enuff for gaming, but I do think I need one just a bit better than the basic to handle all that I'll be doing, on-the-go...like a mobile office, if you will. Right now, I have a galaxy j3-27a, since 2017, it's been a good phone to me & I love the size, but it's definitely not powerful enuff for me to start using for my business/mobile/new multi-app user life. I have never been into a phone that's bigger/longer than my hand, so the 6.5/6.7in. seems too big for my liking, but I need something with enuff power to handle my on-the-go life. Is there a smaller, more fit in hand, phone that you think will be sufficient for my needs, or does it sound like I will have to go with one of the slightly longer than my hand phones...AND I am very frugal, aka cheap, so I don't want to pay upwards of $1k for a phone, but I'm willing to pay a little bit more than a basic/budget model. I've watched a ton of videos & read a ton of user reviews & I feel more lost as to what phone would be a good fit for me; some like the a-series, some don't, some like the s-series, some don't & think mid-rangers are good enuff that it's really not necessary to go higher. So, I dunno. Also, my carrier is at&t, if that helps/matters any, & I'm not very techy, but know I'm about to be. OMG, my apologies for being so long-winded & most likely redundant; I'm just a poor lil' damsel in need, who doesn't have the slightest clue about what she needs. I hope I didn't confuse you & I thank you, in advance, for any help you can provide me.
@@chuggeez_8851 madame... you do NOT seem like a poor damsel in need. Quite the contrary, you sound quite capable. More like Xena Warrior Princess who knows everything about swords, just not smartphones and that's what I'm here for. For your needs, check out my both of my Mid Range battle guides. Sounds like you might consider the LG Velvet or Motorola Moto G Stylus, though the A71 5G is more than capable of handling what it sounds like you're going to throw at it. If you'd like, check out the phones in these two reviews (ua-cam.com/video/J8lYOLS9g6o/v-deo.html, ua-cam.com/video/rCixWSeVnUo/v-deo.html), then inbox me on Instagram instagram.com/tshakaarmstrong) with any further questions you may have so you don't have to leave multiple comments on the different videos. Has anyone had any issues with calls/ network drops? I bought the Samsung A11 and I'm thoroughly disappointed. None of the review videos that I have watched mentioned the call drops. The reviews on Tmobile's site does. So I'm going to upgrade to the A71, but there are a couple of comments saying the phone also drops calls/ network. How accurate are those reviews?
Good review-I subbed. Hey I picked up a new A71 5G two weeks ago and this phone is PHENOMENAL. Traded in my S9 straight across through T-Mobile. Only cost me the tax of $42.60. Could not be happier. This phone ships with Android 10 and will get Android 11,12 and 13 OS updates in addition to 4 years security patches. Camera is excellent, device feels great, 2 day battery life and is super smooth. I was originally a little concerned with the size but that dissipated after day 1. If you are considering this phone I highly recommend it.
Very helpful review. I had to buy a new phone yesterday as my S8+ was frying sim cards. A quick in store comparison of the S20 and A71 5g showed only minor differences at half the price. The problem I have encountered is that even with 5g or LTE the device is running slow or dropping internet connection. My S8+ was faster on LTE, especially with maps, which I rely on . Could the problem be with this particular phone?
Could be a number of issues. The phone may not have been provisioned properly, or it could be an issue with the phone's hardware. Have you tried calling your carrier's tech support yet and having them help you with the issue? That may help you identify if it's on their end and they need to update the phone's settings.
@@TshakaArmstrong Turns out to have been simply a location issue. Once I started rolling down the highway and was able to get full 5g or 4g it worked fine. Thanks for the reply.

Try to avoid walking in the area you took that picture to show the black and grays. It may be dangerous. Great review of this phone. I am waiting on mine today.
My question would be this.... how would ya compare the A-51 5g It is a tiny bit smaller screen size. I am looking for a Samsung and not looking to spend a fortune. Storage, picture quality and 5g capability are my important factors. I'm looking to purchase now and I currently use a Samsung 8
I haven't had the chance to go over the 5G variant of the A51 yet, but based on my experience with the non-5G version, I can't imagine that it would be a bad choice and Samsung has been pretty consistent with their camera quality across their lines.
I just got my A71 for $299 at Walmart. This phone is probably (in my eyes) better than my old S10+! My wife just got the S21 Ultra and it doesn't have a headphone jack, AND there's no expandable memory! So glad I got this one instead!!!

Ok, so just 5 g and a metal band is the difference with the regular A71? I mean, if yoi are with a big carrier you must have some sort of cash amd if you want 5 g, then I guess you'll want an S20. For money conscious people like me (or poor jejeje) we are woth prepaid carriers, like myself I'm with cricket after a decade with Tmbile and Verizon rip me off with crazy bill and finance phones that trade them every year. Now, being free with an unlock phone I aimed at $500 cash phones that should last 2 years. So, with my current s9 is time for me to get rid of it and Samsung is offering a good $200 dollar witb my cracked screen, so I migtb end up buying the s10 lite. I think it has a better processor
Great review. It really comes down to buget and philosophy of use. Myself I change phones every 3 to 4 years and been using the galaxy s2, s5active, ,s8 active. and now heading up to bestbuy for this for 399. There's no need to drop 900 to 1200 on a phone that has a 3 to 4 year life cycle anyways. Just my 2c.

Well, finally bit the bullet and the T-Mobile version of the A71 5G from Samsung directly for $375. I had nothing to trade in a or that I wanted to trade in or it would have been less. In California in a T-Mobile store it's going for $600. $647 with sales tax. But really, for all the stuff the A71 does NOT have; like better screen glass and water resistance, it shouldn't be anything more than $500 in a carrier store. Anyway, besides saving the money, if it doesn't work out, it'll give me a good feel for how it would be to have the LG V60. If I got that I would get the dual screen version, as its only $50 more than the single screen, but I would probably only use the single screen out of the dual screen case anyway and the A71 is only 7 mm shorter and 2 mm less wide. If I got the v60 I would have to get it from the carrier, so I could make payments, and if I didn't like the size of it returning it is a minor hassle, not to mention the $50 restocking fee they would keep. The stupid security attachments they have to the phones in the stores don't allow you to pick them up and really get a feel how they would feel in your hand. So dumb they don't have a provision so the customer can get a real feel of the phone
Just got one for Mom. It is a really nice phone. Not all that much slower than my S20+. You can spend more money for a phone, but you won't get more years out of the money spent. I believe this phone is in the sweet spot of prices.

Guys, Don't buy this phone it has some Major motherboard issue. I purchased a brand new Samsung Galaxy A71 5g on 26/11/2020 and exactly after one week the touch is not working. I surrendered the phone in the service center for the Warranty claim. After several follow-ups, they have told me there is Liquid Damage inside the phone and it will not cover under Warranty. They asked me Half of the phone's price to fix this. Guys, there is no chance to go the water inside, I tried to make understand the service team this. They told me that no need to put the phone inside water even moisture in our hands can cause liquid damage. I wondered by listening to these kinds of madnes from a reputed companies technical team. Now I am sure that they are washing their hands and they will not give any kind of warranty on this device. So guys I request all of you to not buy this phone. I lost my money and I don't want the same thing happening to anyone else. Also, remember Samsung will not give a Warranty for its inside board even if your phone is under Warranty.
Yes if you read the reviews on t mobile a whole bunch of 1-2 star reviews about the phone quality. It looks like this phone has a major quality control problem.
At my house, yes. I’m on the fringe of coverage. Couple miles from my home I get up 541mbps, and at the work site 100-200mbps depending on the carrier.
I'll have that one in my hands soon, hopefully. We will definitely be pitting it's camera against the A71... aaaaand maybe against something a bit more "high end." ;)

Samsung is likely to crush Pixel (who is already on the ropes) with their new commitment of OS updates matching Pixel on upper mid-range and flagship devices. This A71 and A51 will get OS versions 11,12, 13 and 4 years of security patches. In addition the A51 and 71 now have 5G. I don't believe Pixel offers a 5G version yet? LOL!
Is there a smaller, more fit in hand, phone that you think will be sufficient for my needs, or does it sound like I will have to go with one of the slightly longer than my hand phones...AND
I am very frugal, aka cheap, so I don't want to pay upwards of $1k for a phone, but I'm willing to pay a little bit more than a basic/budget model.
Can you use a 4g sim?
How to buy in India?
Has anyone had any issues with calls/ network drops? I bought the Samsung A11 and I'm thoroughly disappointed. None of the review videos that I have watched mentioned the call drops. The reviews on Tmobile's site does.
So I'm going to upgrade to the A71, but there are a couple of comments saying the phone also drops calls/ network. How accurate are those reviews?
Do this phone comes with the gif text message?
Good review-I subbed. Hey I picked up a new A71 5G two weeks ago and this phone is PHENOMENAL. Traded in my S9 straight across through T-Mobile. Only cost me the tax of $42.60. Could not be happier. This phone ships with Android 10 and will get Android 11,12 and 13 OS updates in addition to 4 years security patches. Camera is excellent, device feels great, 2 day battery life and is super smooth. I was originally a little concerned with the size but that dissipated after day 1. If you are considering this phone I highly recommend it.
Thank you for watching and the sub! I'm also a Tmo customer. I just got a great deal on upgrades for my wife and I as well.
Is there any chance/scientific proof that the A71's massive battery could be bad for your health? How big can a battery be before it becomes harmful?
How long those it last it just keep pausing
What about sound.?
Received this great device for Christmas. Great review. Love this phone so far!
Hi man!! Can I use type C headphones with this device? (Samsung branded type c earphones).
I did not test USB C headphones with this phone. I do have an adapter and will give that a try to confirm.
The resolution on UA-cam vids sucks can I fix this ?
I've had the same issue some areas don't have proper 5g and it wouldn't switch to 4g it just stuck off line
Hello. I just got this phone and it's my first time getting samsung phone. my phone just to stop receiving and sending text. I really don't know why. Any help please

Great review. I went from IPhone to this. Thank you!
You’re welcome.
Try to avoid walking in the area you took that picture to show the black and grays. It may be dangerous. Great review of this phone. I am waiting on mine today.
My question would be this.... how would ya compare the A-51 5g
It is a tiny bit smaller screen size.
Can this phone also capable to use in 4g system? Anyone can answer...tnx!
Yes. LTE is supported on this device.
@@TshakaArmstrong thank you .
They carry a regular version of this phone for 200 cheaper then the 5G
I have an A71 5G, however for some reason I am not able to receive or make calls. Can you help me?

THANKS FIR THE REVIEW CAME IN VERY HANDY AND YOU MADE UP MY MIND I ORDERED THIS PHONE AFTER WATCHING YOUR REVIEWS BEAUTIFUL PHONE
I wonder what kind of speeds I'll be getting once I get this beauty next week. Speed test reads 131 mbps donwload without 5g, lol.
How could that be?
@@KM-yl7xb no clue but i can tell you that the speed of the a71 with goo d service is actually insane
I just got my A71 for $299 at Walmart. This phone is probably (in my eyes) better than my old S10+! My wife just got the S21 Ultra and it doesn't have a headphone jack, AND there's no expandable memory! So glad I got this one instead!!!
No push notifications from third party apps I can't seem to figure out the problem if it even receives them or not?? Any advice or luck on ur end
What are some of the apps that u don't get notifications for?
@@tonywii4398 discontinued 2 of them the 3rd im waiting for is Qapital. My "push notification" is on from my bank I just don't see anywhere on the phone where it says "enable" on the phone itself
Just my 2c.
This phone really surprised me in 2020. It has very similar specs to my 13 pro max. I'm thinking of switching because I'm bored of iOS.
Thanks very much for this product
Can we give this guy a thumbs up 👍 below for the smooth as silk SpaceX galaxy line in his intro?

I did a research on Google and ither sources snd this phone has no Stereo Speaker sound at all
It inly has one speaker at the Bottom of the phone
BIG MISTAKE WRONG INFO
In my review, I do indeed state that it has only one speaker at the bottom. I did however misspeak and call it stereo instead of mono. My apologies.
I'm going to start watching you but the phone is a let down still no update to 1ui 2.5 then they drop the s20 FE for almost the same price? Battery and charging is a beast but yeah I'm upset
With them just releasing the FE, I can understand your frustration. The strategy seems a bit confusing.
@@TshakaArmstrong the strategy is money but you are right coming from ios I'm all confused. I thought i would at least get updated with the flagships but all and all i made the call can't blame Samsung
How could I check if mine is 5g??
You have to have specifically purchased the 5G version.
If you've bought it already and don't know if it's 5G-ready or not, it's not 5G-ready.

Watching it with my A71.
That’s a great price for this phone!
does this phone have a flat screen or curved edges?
Flat screen. No curved edges here.
But you still get edge panels+edge lighting
Just got one for Mom. It is a really nice phone. Not all that much slower than my S20+. You can spend more money for a phone, but you won't get more years out of the money spent. I believe this phone is in the sweet spot of prices.
I have no idea why...I just only trust a tech review when a brotha is laying it down. Good on ya, bruh.
I’ll take it. Thanks for watching!
@@TshakaArmstrong Do you receive and accept the products you review at no cost to you?

I got it from Samsung for $300 with trading in an A10
22.3 download is 5g for you lol. My 4g is like 60-70
At my house, yes. I’m on the fringe of coverage. Couple miles from my home I get up 541mbps, and at the work site 100-200mbps depending on the carrier.
Only if this had wireless charging.
Agreed
My a71 5g phone keeps crashing!!!! I hate this phone
Have you tried resetting it yet?

Let's be real pixel 4a crushes this in camera and software
I'll have that one in my hands soon, hopefully. We will definitely be pitting it's camera against the A71... aaaaand maybe against something a bit more "high end." ;)
The a71 5g battery will crush the pixel 4a battery
@@tigergray1100 The Pixel 4A with 3100ish mah battery can get 4 hours - 5 hours screen on time. Imagine it has 4500mah battery. The upcoming Pixel 5 will have 4000mah battery that will put this phone into shame.
And after using my A71 5G for the past two weeks I don't know how much better of a phone camera one can get. The A51 and A71 have 4 different lens vs. the Pixel 4a's 1. Telephoto, wide angle and Macro are pretty cool to have vs not. (The most challenging aspect for Pixel is the trade in offers carriers are offering to existing Samsung users. I traded my S9 straight across for the A71 and ONLY paid tax of less than 45 dollars)
