I for one will always ship these two more than Thomas and Teresa. All Brenda wanted was to protect Thomas, not because of what his blood could do but because she owed him her life. She ran into a burning city to help him! For me that’s enough to show that you care. He even told her to leave him behind but she didn’t!!! Teresa didn’t do anything like that for Thomas. She may have saved him once but that was because he was the cure. Brenda and Thomas have saved each other more times than that without that knowledge
