Rumi used his poetry to describe the relationship between the worshiper and the divine beloved. In these poems, the worshiper succumbs to the suprarational experience of love, usually as romantic love (eros), but also as unconditional, self-sacrificing love (agape). This talk explores Rumi's theology of love not only as a feeling, but an attitude and orientation that defines the very essence of righteousness and true religion.
