That could be great long travel xc ´´down country´ hardtail whit some diffrent wheels and tires could be a very interesting Marathon bike for very technical terrain.
It's not cheap but you're comparing it to a bike made in the far east. There's a clear environmental negative to shipping tubes that far to get frames welded and then shipped all the way back just so you can access cheaper labor which allows you to keep that price lower. Some of us care about that and care about the who and where of a bike being built. I do think bike prices overall should be lower but I wouldn't call this price difference outrageous at all.
@@RrR__RrR Damn, ok. Now that is a bit outrageous. I suspect the Mason frame is at least a bit higher quality but there's likely no way it justifies this drastic of a price difference. I'm really curious how well it will end up selling.
Hi Guy - thanks so much for your videos on the Mason Raw - super helpful. Could I ask what those pedals are you were using - are they Shimano XTRs?; but what is the anodized cage around them? / are they clip in on both sides? Thaks again, Stevie
Hi Stevia, the pedals are DMR V-Twin. Basically double sided Shimano style centre with a big cage round. The bearings don’t last long though so if you’re after that sort of pedal and appreciate the quality of something like the Raw then I’d look at the Hope pedals.
Guy - totally unrelated; hope you don't mind me reaching out to you again. Been looking for ages for a v.lightweight and WATERPROOF jacket and trousers for bikepacking / racing; they've got to pack down small and actually keep the wet stuff off without that "boil in the bag" feeling. Online reviews are difficult - one says something is great, another says they're rubbish, so you end up not knowing what to believe. Any suggestions would be very much appreciated. It’s a really old roadie thing but works on any bike. You hook the chain up and over it when you take the back wheel out so it doesn’t drag in the dirt or get in the wat

So this is a whopping £1000 more than the Pipedream sirius, which is a very similar bike. Outrageous.

@@NkB984 I dont buy it. I can compare it to the Stanton sherpa UK made frame with reynolds 853 tubing and the price difference is still £1000.

Looks stunning, but I’d go Pace and save some money and sill get quality. I love mine so probably biased!
