Hello Neighbor is a stealth horror game about sneaking into your neighbor's house to figure out what horrible secrets he's hiding in the basement. You play against an advanced AI that learns from your every move. Really enjoying climbing through that backyard window? Expect a bear trap there. Sneaking through the front door? It's the horror game cheap shot. It's the thing that will scare you no matter what time of day it is, how old you are or even what's going on in the game. As long as horror movies and games exist, they'll always use this cheap way to scare you.
Well anything can be a jump scare. It depends on how it comes to your attention.

The scariest part of any game for me IMO is when you are being chased. Even if its not a horror game it still scares me. The feeling of someone chasing me and they are right on my back gives me a sense of extreme anxiety that i dont feel anywhere else. I dont know why. Like in this video, when he was outside and he threw the garbage lid into the window, he was taking so long go get through the window and it was freaking me out.
Short Kid Ross - Survival Games and More! The thing that scares me the most in games is when you're in the ocean and there are creatures trying to kill you. Nothing else about video games scares me.

Nope. Its a town and once you get into a certain area you keep on going to the next area. It doesnt just end after you complete one mission, there's a whole reason for sneaking in his house

It'd be interesting if you can at first to get away, but the neighbor would make the fence taller, eliminating that option for escaping next time around.

Wow it's really terrifying as you are forced to do everything at break neck speed because there is nothing worse than stealth gameplay with an enemy that reacts so quickly.
I love how tons of people are bashing on this without even knowing about it. It hasn't released yet and all the game plays are just tests, none are even close to the finished product. The amount of negativity is insane, it's like people enjoy being upset and mad.

I like the cute/cartoony style have to admit it is rather unique to most horror games these days.
Pretty awesome looking game. The AI would scare the living daylights out me from what I hear, but it would be worth a shot if the AI is as good as it sounds. I am also hoping we'll get more maps, otherwise this will quickly get repetitive. Unless you want to watch your favourite UA-camr play it 100 times or something.

I like how you did the sound, the sound is amazing, the glass (Like the lightbulb) looks amazing, and the lighting looks amazing, and I love the art style and games where you have to sneak in to places. Especially when It's someones house. Idk why I love those games so much

This looked so much better then the previous game play I watched.
I think it's a cool concept but as far as it being survival horror I'm not sure about that
For anyone who is unaware, from my understanding from another video of this game I saw, the reason this game is actually pretty impressive is the AI. Supposedly the AI will learn what you frequently do and adapt each time. Not sure if it's after for example going into a certain door to hide once it'll start checking that door, or if you'd have to do it multiple times but basically it picks up your patterns and will adapt.
An example of this is shown in the video when the Neighbor the player is hiding from finds him, the Neighbor AI already knows what he tends to do in this situation which is running towards the front of the house so rather then chasing after the player he goes through the window to try and cut him off. Basically all it would maybe do in ACTUAL gameplay is make you think on your feet as if you're one of the many people who get into patterns and and have a specific way to play every time that won't work in this game as it'll quickly learn to punish your consistency.

And i do not know your definition of horror games, i spoke about survival horror... and we getting tons of those lately... there are enought good horror games allready you just have to find them... and i do not mean Resident Evil, those are not really horror games to me, just gross/grotesce...
We happy few is still in early access and it has positive reviews from what little they had to offer.
I feel like We Happy Few should have been more of a story driven game aside from a survival horror. That's just my opinion though.

That would be cool, but it seems the point (or novelty) of this game is that the AI learns from what you do and reacts accordingly.

I imagine so, but picture it. One player wakes up one night, it's dark and raining outside. The other player breaks in somehow, and can only walk and maybe dash (to go between rooms quickly to scare the other player) the survivor player has to hide and avoid the intruder, be it under the bed or in a cupboard. Imagine it like the whole purpose of the game is to torment the survivor player, and the survivor has to survive a certain amount of time, maybe when the police arrive.
