  • Find out how to use mandelic acid and create a mandelic acid serum. This serum uses an electrolyte resistant polymer to stabilise the formula and a hyaluronic acid cross polymer to ensure good delivery of the mandelic acid. Being mandelic acid, it is less irritating than using glycolic acid but still has fantastic anti-bacterial, skin renewal, skin exfoliation and anti-wrinkle benefits. Find out how - watch now!

That’s a fantastic explanation for acid availability in products! I always knew those high percentage claims were just marketing gimmicks. But then again, that is actually what consumers like to hear! Thank you Belinda! I must take at least a course with you, I just need to finish some other courses I am already committed to.

No, it is not too low for an acid/peel type product - and a lot of these materials need the lower pH for the product to be effective. If you take the pH up, it neutralises the acids such that then they are no longer effective ie may as well not be there. Directions for use are important and also using sunscreen with these products is also very important.

There are a few ways to broaden your searches for raw materials:
      • Visit our global suppliers page: createcosmeticformulas.com/IngredientSuppliers/cosmeticingredientsuppliers-897/
      • Join our Cosmetic Raw Materials for Small Brands facebook group: facebook.com/groups/1734896293290235/ here you can split packs with others to access materials from large suppliers
When you are a student with us, you also get access to our raw material database, which has 1000’s of raw material details in it, along with supplier details - so you can access this info, get in touch with suppliers and ask for samples (they will provide our students samples) and/or seek minimum pack sizes (or consider purchasing and splitting packs on the Small Brands facebook group above).
