Went to Arts Magnet with Roy, knew then that he was going places...Saw him perform in the cafeteria during lunch, with Wynton Marsalis. 10 years later, caught him in a club on 6th street in Austin, told him I went to arts with him, ended up hangin with him in the back of the club on some old beat up couches...He smoked some Ganj, and we partied till 5 am, he played an old beat up piano and we had so much fun. I told him I sang, and he prompted me to sing: “Reunited” (peaches and herb?) I didn’t know the words, so I blew that, hahaha. I was sad to hear of his passing.. Side: Erykah Badu went there when we did too, Arts Magnet...
Such a tragedy he lost his life so young. This concert is a wonderful testament to his wonderful sound and talent. Once again thank you WDR for your amazing talent and arrangements. Superb!!!

I had NO idea of Roy's health struggles and that he has been gone for 2 years! I really don't know how I missed that, and I'm so glad this project happened. RIP, RH!
From start to finish, this concert is PHENOMINAL! I knew Roy was a bad man but this has to be one of his greatest performances! Miss him much...gone way too soon.
On "Listen Here", the MIDI wind controller player was over the top! Screaming bluesy guitar, too! Roy Hargrove and Paul Heller outstanding as usual, too! The whole WDR Big Band is on fire!
Roy has been a great trumpet player from day one, his talent will be long missed. I can't say enough about Karolina Strassmayer - she is great! This band has some of the best musicians around and all in this one band!

Miss this dude so much! However, Guess it wasn't meant to be a "collaboration" though the RH Factor was/is a Band, not just people playing with Grove. We started that journey back in 2001 together. Amazing performance, love the arrangements. Just would've been awesome to have been a part of this as a Band/Family! Would be nice if you would mention/credit that this is the music from the RH Factor, as we all had a hand in making this music(except Eddie Harris Listen Here, awesome all by itself) what it was and still is, classic! This music, the band, was truly some of the best times of his life and career when we traveled all of the world playing this music with basically little to no support from his record company at the time. A true labor of love for each other and our music. #rhfactor
