Let that be our thrill and not be killed by chasing after lies

Some of your viewers are NOT in the business and are just living vicariously through your videos. To you, it may seem like "just another day" doing the same old thing, but to viewers like me, it is exciting and fascinating to get an up close look at this work. Additionally, you do a great job of talking us through what is happening and the logic behind decisions. So, thank you for making these videos even when you feel you don't have anything "exciting" to talk about.

It’s full on wet/frozen/windy winter weather here. No job scheduled for January, maybe some pruning work in Feb. Perhaps a removal or two before then but in the meantime, it’s inside, stoking the wood stove, petting the dog and watching my favorite arborist and his crew doing what they love. Living vicariously through you all, ahh yes… The sound of a two stroke singing in my ears… Thanks for the ‘not-so-profound’ video..

I cannot measure the amount your videos have helped me progress as a climber and as a human. The crew I work for primarily uses bucket trucks so if it wasn't for your lessons, Tips, Tricks I'd be lacking as a somewhat seasoned feller and a short of practiced climber. You released that video "Defeat your Goliath" during a time when I was ready to give up due to a body-freezing full-blown panic-stricken fear of heights that lasted for months until I finally started coming back into my faith after falling away in the years after high school. You've helped me in my life in so many ways and we've never even met. August you've made a better man out of me from 1000s of miles away and for that, I sincerely thank you. Through your actions alone you inspire. I'm 27 now, I started as a Groundie at 24 and started climbing small things that same year. without your videos, I could confidently say I would have made a life-altering mistake. I can't wait to meet your crew someday as I grow in this industry and begin making videos of my own one day to guide others on better paths through this life.

Last year was a tough year, when you take people for granted and just assume they are going to be there. Some one you talk to and work with all the time, then they are gone
I got back in to tree work after years because of your passion for it, and because of that I got to spend 2 years working with my dad before he was killed, he died doing what he loved and always said he wanted to be in a tree when Jesus comes back.
Thank you for doing what you do

i just started climbing and i love watching your videos as an example cuz there's so much that goes into it. I've been a groundsman for about a year and always wanted to learn to climb once i found the tree business. I'm 23 years old and plan on sticking with this trade. I'm learning so much like safety, knots, backing in a trailer, driving a large vehicle, tree identification, proper cuts, pruning, and my favorite using a chainsaw. I have a long way to go and I still get scared sometimes but I'm determined to be like you one day, a badass tree guy.

Your sawing skills are so amazing !!!! My dad was a logger, he was a one man show, cutting, hauling away and then off to his sawmill ! It was a lot of hard work, I was never nervous him cutting and hauling, but that sawmill always made me so concerned for him. Those blades were humongous. Anyways, you are savvy smart like he was and I admire that. Stay safe and thank you for my memories of my dad ❤️

Hahaha, I watched a water skier take off from the boat launch one day. He never plained out, he just slowly started going down until he was completely submerged. The rope was still tight and he was still hanging on. Eventually he gave up and the rope snapped up out of the water and he bobbed to the top. It was hilarious to watch! 😅

Thank you, I had a job recently large dead fir and could not get the branches to peel when cutting flush many times they would snap half way through and fall flat completely fubared neighbors shed had to replace it and about six pickets in the fence because of this but the trick you mentioned about cutting not flush but into the tree is a massive aha moment for me . Thank you for that will save me money on the next job which is another crowded huge fir. So that is plenty profound and the reason I don't watch the other guy who is. I'm sure a great guy that does. The bucking is because I don't want filler. I want process and you are the best at providing that your tree work is profound.

August - I grew up in the cab of a semi, and was at a very early age taught the etiquette of truck driving. At eighteen started doing just that, and you are so correctly describing the general public as to their knowledge and lack of respect for big, heavy, hard to stop and start vehicles sharing the roads. And whilst you were berating your skills and place in the greater scheme of vocations I knew that algorithms be satisfied by my chewing your skinny little tail, then you rightfully corrected your slander by saying that enginurds would bite the big one trying to do what you make look so easy. Mark Knopfler and Eric Clapton do the very same thing. Easy- right? Yeah….when you were born to do that very thing, and spend decades practicing to the point where it’s as natural as breathing. I’m sure from reading interviews with both examples that they hear the notes and the fingers just go to the correct place because they are so talented and have put in the thousands of hours doing what they do. Just. Like. You. Guys. Thanks for filming and editing another day in the life. Some of us are incredibly interested in the journey 😊 (analysis completed). 😂

    Subject : back pain...
55 old here, still working outside, years ago a bricklayer, now doing different things involving shovels, moving stuff by hands... And often, back pain.
I stretched a lot, back home after work, for 5 years, for no long term benefits.
What finally help, is stretching less and working core stability. Best help came from a youtube channel named Squat University, the McGill big 3 routine.
It's not an advice, since I have no clue what your back pain's history is. It's a short bottle with a message in an ocean. Someone, might well not be you, may find this message to help his own back pain.

Chip trucks get no love and patience out here on hwy 97 I’m here to say. Especially if I venture into the left lane to pass for a few seconds. A lot of roaring smoker trucks, Subarus with stink eyes. 😀

Thanks for explaining the situation with the trucks and the people who don't pay attention.

Sorry to hear things are slow , here in the flat lands of Kansas it’s slow as well . I try to put away $ all year long so that when the snow flys I can sit by my fire place and watch august hunky videos! That was a pun on your last name bro ! Be safe tree brothers!

*OF COURSE & Y E A H WE LIKE ALL THAT* ! Thanks for the bit of HISTORY in you flashback (with the TV screen!) We've LOVED you since! Every nasty limb on this tree is different but never to you on any tree! *SO CANDID YOU ARE* with you *BULLSEYE* inserts throughout your every editing process! Better than the original DALLAS!
