As long as you are able to take care of your daily obligations, don't worry about obsessing over fashion! It's fun! We only have one life, no need to feel guilty over things that bring you joy!
I recently heard a quote I am repeating to myself frequently. “It is okay to ADMIRE but you do not need to ACQUIRE!” So I keep saying “Admire, don’t acquire, Renee!”
I think it is totally normal to obsess over clothes when you have such a passion for fashion. Don't beat yourself up about it, people have a lot worse fixations xx
If you can afford it go for it just do not max out your credit 😮

I agree. I'm 65 and love clothes. I have done since I was a child and wanted to study fashion bur wasn't to be. The joy I get out of buying clothes is what others might get from alcohol, chocolate or holidays. I suppose it is an adduction but as I'm on my own now I can spend what I want. I'm not well off but it's my joy. If it brings you joy, why not ?❤

Hi Jo. You are not alone in obsessing over clothes. I do it all the time! I also obsess over all the beautiful makeup and face creams/treatments that are available now. I don’t often give in to my obsessions but that’s more because of financial restraints than anything else. You are such a pleasure to watch Jo. You always brighten my day. Thank you.
Jo you are definitely not alone with your obsessing over a dress or whatever. I’ve been that way my whole life. I’ve bought many things that I wanted and probably shouldn’t have. I’m 69 and now as I get older things just don’t matter that much to me anymore! It’s always fun seeing what you are up to on Sundays ! Have a wonderful week!

I do the same thing, thought I was the only one...LOL I am 55 and still think about clothes I wore in High School and wish I still had them.. The obsessing never ends.

Jo, I flew in to Ldn Thursday morning and came down w fever by Friday 😅 Woke Sat morning and knew there was no way I could go down to watch coronation, esp in the rain. So, I stayed in my airbnb under a blanket and watched it. I love London and hope to be better in a day or two. As for your avoidance mechanism w clothes - if you are not harming yourself financially, don't worry. We all have things that soothe, and it's better than turning to wine or cigarettes 😅 Have a fabulous week!

It's fine Jo! Lots of people collect things that gather dust or are even stored away from view. How much better is it to wear what you carefully choose? I'm lucky enough to work in the Hobbs/Phase Eight concession of a lovely Surrey department store. People come in and admire the clothing even when not buying. It's uplifting and inspirational. Enjoy what you love x

So many of us have an obsession over buying stuff! For me it’s fragrance! I must have about 80 bottles and I’m always thinking about the next one - as if it will change my life! Lol 😀❤️
I love perfume too ❤
I had that same addiction with about the same number of bottles. Plus handfuls of samples. One day I lost interest out of the blue, gave away the ones I didn't absolutely love. I still have about 30 bottles, divided into summer and winter fragrances.

Dear Jo, I think the dress you're wearing here - in the first half of the show - was it purpleish? - looks absolutely fabulous. In fact, I dare say I prefer the purple on you far more than the orange number, albeit lovely too. Keep up the clothes loving. Look after yourself. Thanks for the fun.

I’m exactly the same with dresses. Sometimes I can’t even get over to sleep for thinking about colours that match and accessories that will go. It might be the expression of a creative mind but at times I have to rein it in too. I am greatly inspired by people who are the same so please never change, Jo xx

My sister never worried about anything - never worried about "tomorrow". I would say "what if" and she would say "I don't want to think about it" Avoidance for sure.
We all obsess in some form or another with shopping, food, drink, exercise, whatever. I agree it’s a type of avoidance.

Hello Jo, you are a little joy bubble in my day ! Thank you! I am in my 60’s and also enjoy the art of dressing. It really can lift my spirits. However it is also very important to live within our means. The joy does not last in a dress if I have run my self low in finances. Set up a seperate dress account. Sell some of your older dresses you don’t love as much now and contribute to your dress fund. I always wait for my favourite dresses to go on sale! Then you get to enjoy the dress with peace of mind. Cheering you on from Australia.

As many others have said, I think we all obsess over things as a means to cope with life. Don’t beat yourself up. As long as you can afford to live, and it makes you happy, then I say go for it.

Ironically, that was one of my fave dresses I've seen you try on! I like shopping for clothes but i can no longer afford it so i don't go looking.. and because i don't go looking, i don't see things that i then want to buy. I have had to train myself to do other things instead of shopping.

Jo, maybe you should get a blow dryer brush to style your hair after swimming. I use one for my second day hair to give my slept on hair some body and volume - works well for me. Just a thought.
First, here in NYC, it is impossible to own a car because it's like paying two rents. It is soooo expensive. People get garage spaces in other boroughs and take a train to drive their cars! Ridicules!

I believe I have a clothes addiction! Like you I have many things that should be at the forefront of my mind, but I can obsess until I get it! I work from home in Australia, so really don't even need many clothes anymore lol! I'm trying very hard to curb my clothes purchases!
