Cuticle softener. Don’t soak her nails in water cause once you apply the nail extension product you might lock in the moisture that’s left behind and that might cause fungus in the nail
This! This is so important, and I feel like it’s so overlooked. Nails are porous!
For your sister’s cuticles I recommend the sally hanson instant cuticle remover. It’s like a gel and makes your cuticles soft so I think it’ll work for her.

This is my go to and then scrub them with a nail brush in warm water before using a cuticle clipper.
Yes that's the one I just suggested before reading the comments, it has worked miracles, especially for my male clients that just want a manicure and they have really tough cuticles and calluses on the fingers and it works great removing cuticle and and dead skin on the fingers and around the nails

What about trying a cuticle softener/remover on her 🤔 that might help to soften her cuticles up a bit.
Yes if you do your own nails you NEED cuticle remover! You apply it for 10-30 seconds grab those nippers & time is cut🙌🏼
They sell a cuticle softener and that should help. Love the set and I’ve been wanting this kit, just haven’t got it yet, it’s on my list though. ❤️❤️

I love all parts of the video but honestly nail prep is my personal fav, mostly bc I love watching people cut/pushback cuticles😩💖 when done well it can be so satisfying and u definitely do not disappoint😍💖💖💖

Do!!! I've got a shit tonne of the stuff now. Just done multi colour glow in the dark marble nails with diamonds. Sounds mad but looks amazing. U don't have to be a trained nail tech to get really good results with polygel

Super cute! You never disappoint us! Definitely do not soak her nails in warm water before applying product. You don't want to apply products to wet nails because that moisture gets trapped inside and causes fungus and lifting. You can use a cuticle softener or remover. She should use cuticle oil every day and that will also help her. ❤❤❤❤❤

There is a product on Amazon that help soften and remove most of the cuticles then you could scrape up the dead skin and cut as usual, it just makes for a neater finish, it’s called Blue Cross cuticle remover, the 6 oz is $3.49 and the 32 oz is only $9 and I love it so much just leave it on the cuticles for 10-20 seconds then start pushing back the cuticles and cut them it made prepping my nails soooo much easier 😁

Love them! Is it just me but I really wish that they would do 30ml. not always 15 ml. ???
You’re definitely not alone. I’m so sick of these 15 ml tubes! You can’t sculpt a full set with one color with that. At least give us enough to sculpt a full long set. The best way I’ve found to stretch these small tubes of colored polygels is by doing a thin layer with the color, then going over top and building the nail and the apex with clear.

I usually put cuticle oil on stubborn nails it helps loosen the cuticle and makes the whole process easier. Just remember to use swipe or alcohol to remove oil after💅🏾

For cuticles the Sally Hanson instant cuticle remover works great. Let sit on the cuticle for like a minute, push back the cuticles and majority of the cuticle wipes away.

You do great nail sets and practice does make perfect it’s also how I know different things I try will work for others the practice hand I have cones in handy....are there any products you like more than others? Tfs
Damn I really want to recreate these 😍😍 but I only work with acrylic and I hate marbling with acrylic sooo yeah nope🙂
When you cut the cuticles it makes the skin grow back more coarse. I would just use the drill to sand down her cuticles and the skin on the sides of her nails. Also have her get a moisturizing cuticle oil, something she can use daily. Moisturizing hand cream is also good. Hope this helps
i use sally hansen cuticle remover and it does a really good job softening my cuticles

Watching your old videos hehe. Well my mom and I used to always use vitamin e oil on our cuticles before cutting them and it would definitely help!

im here with some tips!
1. i use a metal cuticle pusher with sharp ish edges, it works sooo good
2. i like to wash my hands after nail prep and filing so i dont encapsulate dust, it made my top coat bubbly
3. dont overdo top coat, its soft unlike hard gel or polygel so if you encapsulate with it your nails will be bendy
4. if you dont want a super thick layer for your glitter you can bend ones like these to help them fit to the nail better
When I used to go to the Vietnamese nail salons, they did have a circular buffer but they would use for buffing oil into the nails and around the cubicles. It looked like something you would use on a car. I wish I knew what it was called.
🤔 there are some different bits out there, like silicone that would be used to do something like that.
For the cuticles there is a cuticle remover from Sally Hansen I believe and it work really good for my moms cuticles which are horribly thick but I just thought I would recommend😊

I tried rhinestone glue once instead of clear polygel because I was being lazy and that did not file well, lol. I will be trying top coat and my favorite part is the polygel application and then decoration. This set is simple yet beautiful, love it!!

Cuticle softener hun, it helps a lot and that's exactly what it's meant for. When you go into Sally's there's a really popular pink bottle of cuticle softener it's a funny shaped accordion looking bottle but you just add a lil on cotton ball then push them back after a couple min. The sanding bands aren't good for the nail surface at all. This causes severe fracturing and thinning of the nail plate. It's best to use a 100/180 grit handfile. I can relate with school! This is giving me flashbacks! I literally don't know how school works anymore especially with college courses. I've taken so many GE classes and feel like I'm going to be going to college for-e-ever. The classes, textbooks, etc. are so expensive even if you can get a grant or scholarship. They really don't think you have a life outside of their class they don't think about other courses your taking, and definitely don't consider the day-to-day. Tour video are so awesome and relaxing to watch , I love the glitters and marble you did in this set.

I love your videos, I have always preferred acrylic because for me it’s easier to work with, but recently I’ve been thinking about trying polygel again because of the monomer smell and exposure. Also, the dead skin on the plate is the cuticle, the skin above that is your eponychium and shouldn’t be cut unless it’s dead and in the way of application, and when shaping the the free edge of the natural nail you should only be filing one way. Seesawing can cause damage to the free edge.

Walmart sells a cuticle remover it's like 5 bucks you put it on the cuticles and within 30 seconds the cab easily relive her cuticles just by pushing them up and lightly scraping the cuticle area🤷🏻♀️

For your sister’s cuticles you can recommend she use cuticle oil 2x daily (jojoba oil, olive oil & rose hip oil are gr8), moisturise her hands regularly and she has weekly luxury manicures. Cuticle remover and soaking her fingers will soften the cuticle before prep. Hope this helps! ☺️💗

i don't have an e-file (yet!) so i put cuticle oil on and let it sit for 5-10 minutes before i push and trim my cuticles. i think it works really well!
