My First Look At DxO PureRAW 3 for Landscape Photography

On one of my earlier videos on the Nikon 24-200mm lens, a commenter suggested using DxO PureRAW to process the images for improved image quality. I finally took some time to sit down with DxO PureRAW 3 and give it a try on an image taken with the Nikon Z7 II paired with the Nikon 24-200mm lens.
I compare the native RAW file with DxO PureRAW and with a file with Adobe Lightroom's updated DeNoise.

Nice walk through. Thank you. I didn't upgrade from 2 to 3, because my primary consideration is the noise reduction which beats everything at this time - plus, the XD option is only marginally visible in most images.

Glad it was helpful! The noise reduction is nice! I wanted to try it mainly for the Nikon 24-200 which I’d had folks tell me the RAW processing of PureRAW would do better than Adobe. And after a little bit of playing, I tend to agree with that!
I agree - the XD option is only marginally better, and almost bordering on too much sharpening in my opinion.
